Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

I have seen things like that before. Its funny, I went into Suncoast looking for a movie and looked at a couple of figures. All three of the same figures had a Hot Topic sticker on the back, and they were selling them for less. Its hilarious when you see things like that.

Most sears stores do have price scanners, however, in some of my sears stores they do not work properly and I cannot use them. I do print out barcodes and scan them but when the scanner doesn't work you can't do that. Also the scanners are usually in kind of hidden locations, usually sort of near each register station. I also like to take a stack of games to the scanner and when the closest scanner isn't working thats a problem since running all over the store with a huge handful of games looks a bit suspicious.

Intec GameCube memory cards are horrible. They should have paid you $3 to take them out of there.

I bought one from K-Mart for the same price. It took me 3 tries to initialize it and my saves never showed up when I checked it. It's the one that says "8 MB" on it.

I can understand how that looks strange and at one time the scanner by the electronics was not working so I went by the tools to use it which is in back and in the corner and I had an employee watching me trying to act like he was stocking...
Now I solved that problem lol cart and kid, she loves to scan the items so I toss a bunch in the cart and away we go and no one pays any attention. ;)

The fine print says it's not valid on video games and video game systems as well.

I did this just last night, grabbed about 10 items from electronics, walked all the way across the store to the one and only scanner and scanned the lot. Then I left every single item on top of the scanner. My point to sears being, install more scanners you damn cheap bastards and I won't leave items all the way across the store. I was very disappointed to find two 3 month xbox live boxes that were 16$ and not the 7$ I was hoping for :(

[/quote]it happens alot. specially for a big department store like sears. target seems to be the only store that solved this problem. but unlike other stores, target does not have a work-on-commission program. so if employees think that video games are small fry, thats probably why its hard for all of us to find someone to do price checks.

i really don't see this as a problem as much. the outcome of it is that we get to buy games (cheap) that employees missed from their markdowns. or better yet, video games are ignored from it completely. it all kind of works out towards the end. though some of us is still less fortunate. :)
 
Found Dark Kingdom for the :ps3: for $4.97 at the Kingston NY store. Funny thing is I don't own a :ps3: , I just can't resist a deal. I figure I will get one sooner or later so might as well get cheap games while I can.
 
Finally scored today, got a Metroid Prime Gamecube Bundle for $19.97 :bouncy: Guess all the hoarders in the area missed this location.


Also wanted to give out a point specific location like I normally wont but the Sears attached to the Brookfield Square Mall still has 1 more GC Metroid Bundle and they have a few scattered bins with clearance stuff and they had 2 360 memory cards for $4.97 along with some of those PS2-PS3 memory card adaptors for $4.97 just have to look around the videogame section because it is somewhat a messy layout.

Good luck hopefully someone in this area can get that stuff.

Theres way too many employees in ALL the sear storess, and if they see a customer they will practically grab them. Also they have installed DOOR GREETERS at every entrance that ask you if you want to donate to charity and if you want to fill out a credit card application, this is seriously getting annoying since I experience this at ALL retail stores now. I am really sick of donating a dollar, and no I never donate a dollar, that does not mean I don't donate anything, I use my bargain hunting skills to put together a huge garbage bag of new in the package toys and donate them to Toys for Tots every christmas. Last year I was doing my yearly cleaning and I actually ended up taking about 2 bags to the donation bin in fact (it also helps that I am a toy collector who desperately needs to get rid of some stuff).

i went to a sears today that i had not gone to for a very long time. it was so unorganized, all the new video game merchandise were piled up on top of the games. leaving you with no choice but to ask for someone to get help rather than getting it all organized infront of the glass bin where its nice and empty. i walked out as fast as i walked in. pathetic.
 
do your sears' even have price tags on the games? i needed to ask the staff to scan all of them, b/c they freaking didn't have prices, and then they were all $20...

I also notice that often there is at least a group of 4-5 employees in the electronics section usually just chatting in a circle. And there are still other employees covering the registers, and a few stocking the shelves. I would say there are at least a dozen or so employees in that section at anytime, in many cases with only 4 or 5 customers.

Stores that are complete clusterfucks have the best deals because they are so disorganized. Come on, it's common sense. Organized=easy visibility of clearance games=someone before you comes in and swipes the clearence games.

I managed to find the 5$ Wii games at another store, I got 2 copies of Tony Hawk and 1 of Meet the Robinsons. I am very pleased! This sears I went to had prices on the games (however, sometimes they put the wrong price resulting in a cheap price for you, this is the same sears that I got the mismarked TP for Gamecube a while back). Of course, the prices are horribly outdated and are not right most of the time. They are pretty cleaned out of most of the PSP games, and I don't think I saw any of the sale DS games at this store.
 
Did all the GBA games disappear at anyone else's store? They did at one near me. They were there a few weeks ago. Also, I can't find the game clearance bin any more...

where's a typical department to find a UPC scanner? i wandered around a bit and didn't see one (and I didn't have my list of Kmart UPCs with me, anyway). sorry for the newb question, but I just started going to Sears and I found one loaded with games but all in a glass case with the spine showing (and no tags showing).

Did Tetris Evolution for the 360 in a clearance bin for $12.xx
 
So I'm not sure if its been asked (mercy if it has) but i found MotoGP 07 (2 copies) and picked them up, and im wondering if the game is good or if i should just return them and save my money. I don't hate racing games but definitely not my normal buys

{btw one is up for trade (a buddy backed out on me) if you find an Untold Legend: Dark Kingdom or Genji or any other non sports PS3 clearance game just PM me}

MLB 2K7 - $4.97

minus 10% discount since my wife works at kmart.

total = $9.64

They also had Darkness for $19.99, but that is still to much for me to pay, hopefully it will go down to $9.99 soon, so i can pick it up before they sell out of them.

Yes I just picked up Genji from Sears yesterday for $4.97, they actually had 2-3 copies left after I bought one.
 
Picked up one of each of the 2K7 games, MLB 07 The Show, Virtua Tennis 3 and Dark Kingdom for mostly $4.97 each (NBA 2K7 was $6.97 and Virtua Tennis 3 was $8.97) in Natick, MA. These games were unmarked inside a glass case with only the spine showing which is probably the reason why no one touched these.....

I think my Sears might be slowly getting rid of its gaming section and replacing it with other electronics. The game section is half the size of what it was originally months before. Now its being replaced with cell phones and gps decives. Ah, maybe this will means I might get a store clearence on games >_>
 
I scored Halo 3 CE for $4.97 at two different stores. I was so psyched that I didn't think twice when I dropped five bills for my wife's anniversary present at Williams Sonoma. Now I'm scared to open these rattling cans up to see how badly scratched they are.
 
I stopped by another sears today after work, was able to find MLB Show 07($4.97), NHL 07($4.97), & NBA 2k7($5.97) for the :ps3:. I wish i could find Tiger Woods 07, or Tony Hawk.

Checked Xenosaga GH, but was only $8.97 not the $1.xx something reported. Wll try other Sears when I'm in the area.
 
Wait, why is everyone picking up the sports titles? Are they good flip material? Need we be reminded that they're pretty much worthless 2 or 3 years down the road and I don't see alot of us actually playing them.

^ I for one am playing MLB the show 07, an amazing baseball game, my career player is now a utility infielder for the Red Sox :) took a month and a half (in game time) to get him from triple A to the bigs. LOVE THE GAME!!

Unfortunately sports titles are the only games i can find, other than Genji. :wall:

Agreed, I've logged in more time on my PS3 with MLB 07 The Show than any other game. GREAT game, easily worth the $5. I paid $60 at launch and do not regret it at all.

I don't care about updated rosters and would rather pay $5 for last year's game then $30 - $40 or more for this years version.
 
so there were a couple of mlb 07 the show at my local sears at the $5 mark. is this game really that good? i mean i don't usually play or like sports games but is this game good enough to bust me outta my mold and try it or should i just stay away?

For $5 what do you have to lose? I bought MLB 2007 at full price and loved it. I'm now playing the 08' version.
