Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

stoped by another sears on my way home from work yesterday. Nothing, arghhhh. I've strucken out so many times at these ymmv clearance places, I dont think I'll go to another.

I know the feeling i struct out at 6-7 different targets around my house, and have not found a single clearance game for the :ps3: at least at target that is. But i have been lucky enough to find a couple clearance games at 3 different sears in the inland empire though. Just keep on looking unfortanately if you live in LA, i think alot of CAGers live in LA, so it might be harder to find some good clearance games.
 
Okay, who hit up the Sears in Dedham , MA? That place has been my special secret place for months now and someone wiped it of most of the good clearance stuff?
 
Was it a while since you were there before your last trip? It could be that the store finally started to correctly price and organize the games. For years one Sears in my area used to be awesome, games all out of place, you really had too look to find what you wanted, price stickers were never updated. I always hit the jackpot at that store, Geist for $0.97, Mario Party 5 for $11.97, Metroid Prime 2 for $5.97 and so on. Then a few months ago I stopped in and they had next to nothing on clearance, the few games they did have were all correctly tagged and everything was in place. I rarely find anything good at that store anymore.
 
I think I'm giving up on these ymmv clearance places like I said, but just started flipping between GS and BB, should have started sooner like a lot of cags. By investing some initial money I have enough credit now (and hope to get more) to get a lot of these clearance games for the same prices without having to search for them. muhahaahhaha But I have to thank sears for Genji ( I tried to play it, but ehhh it was too painful) which I traded in to GS for a 6 dollar credit profit.

I was there last saturday. I've been going to that store every week buying about $25 worth of clearance games, selling most of them for like $50-60 at a certain local store and keeping 1 or 2 games.

I went in there earlier to grab another Meet the Robinsons on wii and some ps3 games and they were all gone. So yeah, someone was there and they knew what to look for. There was still stuff on clearance, just not much at that "magic" price point where you'd buy it just because it was that cheap.

This particular store still has massive problems with keeping their tags updated and I hope it stays like that because it's a huge oversight in my favor. I just don't like it when some employee thinks I'm cheating the store when a game has a $29.99 price tag on it and rings up for .97.

Went in to look around today at my local Sears, shifted through the clearance bin, and I saw a 64mb mem card for the 360. Asked the cashier to price check....$21.97. So as I put it back in the bin, I noticed the 3 month kits in the case. Asked for that one, $4.97 :D Bought both of them.

Gun Showdown (PSP) was $2.97 at the Sears near me, but this was a few months ago.

Picked up a Metroid Prime Gamecube bundle for $29.97. Then the cashier scanned a coupon barcode for an extra 10% off clearance items and the total went down to $26.97! I'm not sure if the extra 10% off was this store only, but the coupon said it was good through a date in August (don't remember the actual date). The store was also clearly marking the extra 10% off on the table where the clearance items were stacked.

Picked up 2 Brand new Microsoft VGA Cables @ 4.97 apiece and a Universal Media Remote @ 5.97

Also picked up a 64MB memory unit for 4.97 and the Component HD AV cables for 5.97 today.

That sucks. I picked up a 64 MB mem card this week in Tulsa, OK for $4.97. It had a nice, large, yellow clearance sign on it in the case. YMMV vary, indeed!

It's always been normal price for me as well at Sears. I think somebody may have gotten lucky with a mistagged game.

That Sears has always been a goldmine, it's just usually just when they put clearance stuff on the floor in a bin that it dissapears fast. Of course, getting the employees to open the window is another matter itself.

And I haven't been to the Brockton Sears in years, but I do remember they had huge bin filled with clearance games.

Don't waste your time with the Galleria Mall Sears in Cambridge, someone is ALWAYS cleaning them out of good clearance items (and it's not me).
 
The Sears near me has been a total bust for the good part of a year now. I have a couple of Sears Grand stores that I have yet to try in my neighborhood.

The only two things my Sears (Des Moines) has had for good clearance the last year is Kameo and Rogue Galaxy for 3 bucks each.

Checked again today and still nothing. :(
 
I picked up the Chat Pad for 9.97 with 10% off. The store I was in was running a 10% off deal. I briefly thought about the baseball game for PS3, but decided against it.

One Sears I stopped at yesterday had the brilliant idea to display only 12 or so PS3 games and have the rest locked up in about a 1 1/2 foot high glass case on the floor with PSP games in front of the PS3 games. I thought I was going to find all the cheap games there, they had none. I asked for Tony Hawk's Project 8, they show me Proving Ground and one of the 2 workers, asks if it is for PS2, I tell him it is for PS3. He then tells me he doesn't think Project 8 was released for PS3. I didn't feel like telling him that I HAVE THE GAME at home (my friend got a PS3 recently and I told him I would look for it since it is only $4.97), since I thought he would think I am one of those customers that insists a game does exist like a Mario game on PS2.
 
Got a Pink 360 controller for a whopping $12.97 today. Even if it is pink, that's a damn good deal I couldn't pass up. I figure I can buy a faceplate for it on the cheap, which would cut down on the mockage that might ensue, lol

Do sears have price scanner things because I just went to my local sears and all the games had prices like 29.99 etc and I dont want to look like an idiot carrying up 5 games to the counter thinking they are 5 dollars each and then they turn out to really be 29.99.
