Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

i just got back from sears. not much to report. but i found 2

DDR Universe 2 - $4.97
Assassins Creed DS - $4.97

the guy that rang me looked like he could be a deal blocker. he checked every corner of the DDR Universe 2 box to see if there was any mark or any price. he did the same for ASS CREED :) but he let me go. great deal. i will go to another one tonight or maybe 2 more.

btw thanks for the heads up again Josef, keep it up!
 
I hate when they try to act like it is a mistake. I ran into that I think in 2007 at a Sears I had never been to before. Madden 06 for the 360 was $1.97, they said it had to be a mistake and couldn't really be that price. They then went to Sears.com and saw it was listed for $11.97 (the one on Sears.com was the original XBox version). They then said "Oh, it looks like someone forgot to enter an extra one on the price." I pointed out to them how they were looking up the wrong version and finally let me buy it.

It's not our fault that most Sears don't have any price tags updated, if they did their job and updated the price tags then they wouldn't be surprised but that would be a bad thing I guess. I also stopped at a new Sears yesterday and 90% of the stuff was correctly tagged. Not a $0.97 game in sight. All I saw for under $5 was College Hoops 2K8 for PS3 for $4.97

in a way i am happy that they are unaware of the clearances at their own store. because if they are, the games would either be marked, or had already been picked up by the employees. its a great thing that sears barely makes any money or no money at all at their stores for video games. its just a way to bring people in. they get it all back from clothing that cost them .10 to make :)

i did see mercury revolution.. i should have picked it up but i didnt bother.

Lair for $6.97. I think I'll pass on the one I saw today and put the $7 towards something else.
 
Does anyone know from past experience if these Sears clearances are once a year deals or do they happen more often? Also will there be further cuts-there were several titles on the line between being a decent deal and being one more cut away from an amazing deal.

You guys need to get off your lazy asses and take the respective receipt to the Sears where your stuff was purchased from. You don't need the product, just the receipt. As long as it's under 30 days, you should be fine.

Bionicle heroes- its trading for $1 @ GS.
I bought 5 of them :cry: @ Putnam CT Sears. Any ideas for unloading those?
UI did score a couple Singstar bundles for $1.97 which I tried to flip at the GS at the other end of the plaza. They wouldn't take them cause they were sealed? Am IO really gonna have to open them? Seems stoopid- they could give me $15 & I'd be thrilled then they could sell as new for $59.99. Oh well. Anyone else encounter that?

Not much else there as far as flippables go but some good deals if you want to keepers- Warhawk $16, Madden 07 2.97, Orange Box $19.99 (not uncommon price but a deal @ twice that). I was strictly looking for flips but it did seem that there were a ton of price cuts (not clearance-just general cuts) on A-list games in the $49.99 range.

you cant take games to stores like GS when the copies are still sealed. regardless on how you got the game, they are just being cautious not to accept it sealed. at gamecrazy, they open the game infront of you if they are still sealed.

What's the difference between scanning a sticker and scanning the UPC? It usually doesn't ring up a different price at my sears, so is that YMMV?

Had another interesting haul today...

Metroid Prime GC (LOST MY COPY!!!). They gave it to me for $4.97 because it wouldn't scan LOL

Los angeles area and the surrounding suburbs. It's not as golden as you think, though. The stores have bad selection all around, and considering how I keep finding old games that won't even scan into the system, is a testament to how shitty their game selection is. Old games like these are a nice find, but 99% of the rest of the clearance list is never in stock in the first place.

The gamestops here don't pay good money for games. During the BBV/Gamerush BOGO they were paying between $5-10 for each game. It wasn't worth the money to flip. They know about flipping here too. That and there are so many used games in the stores, and most of them in really bad condition, usually disk only. I'm just glad i got the game at all, not because it was a bad deal.

Has anyone seen the 120GB drive for the $109.00 posted in the OP? Only my local Sears Essentials show any stock near me and they're still $149.
 
Found a Pink 360 Controller for $15.97 in Brentwood/Cool Springs, TN on Saturday. I did a double take because I thought all the wireless controllers were long gone. Also I hit this store up in mid December before heading to the Texas for the holidays and did not see the controller in the clearance bin. I'm guessing it was found in the store room a few days before I scored it.

Went to the Sear store at the Meadows Mall in Las Vegas, NV .. there are couple signs stating that there is a clearance sale but all of it behind the glass case so I cant tell you what on clearance .. and it was a total mess in there and nothing is marked but I cant blame the girl there she is trying her best in order to keep up with customers there and seems to be the only one there

But I what I can say is they have a large selection of PS2 games .. all of them are greatest hits labeled .. Shadow of Colossus caught my eye and they have several of them .. let me know if there a DDR 360 bundle for cheap out in the Vegas area.

Take it easy out there.

*note that Zoo Keeper and Mercury Meltdown Revolution have both the generic barcode and the regular upc at most sears. Scanning the generic barcode will come up as .97 but scanning the original UPC scans at 9.99. i tried getting the other 2 Zoo Keeper i saw but she had to call in the manager on duty so i said forget it im not waiting.

the final store i went to was closing, so i couldnt do much of a price check. but i gave one of the guys the other singstar for letting me check other stuff, he said he'd give it to his sister, awwwww...

i asked him to see whether or not he'd use his extra discount on it since it'll bring it down to $1.80 if he gets 10%, he told me no cause he'll get in trouble since its already on clearance dirt cheap.

you mean the generic barcode sticker? if thats the case, scanning the original UPC might come up as out of the system (it wont scan at any price). meaning you might hit a road block and you might not get the game. unless they give it to you a price you expect it to be.
 
Cary, NC store had three copies of Mercury Meltdown Revolution, but unfortunately they scanned at $14.99 as opposed to $4.97 or $.97. I was really psyched because the Play N Trade in town is giving $5.00 extra trade for any Wii game that gets traded in. If I could have gotten them for $.97 I would have made $4.00+ on each game.
 
Got 3 crappy PS2 games(bundle) : Puzzle Challenge Crosswords,Pinball Hal of fame and Mojo for 97c. At least I can use their PS2 cases for another games.
I also got Griffin Ipod and Zune cases for $1.97/each

Ah, thanks. I was worried more about price differences. I happened several times to me. They just gave it to me for the lowest price other clearance games were scanning in at.
 
I can confirm Zoo Keeper - DS - with generic UPC Sticker for .97!
I also picked up Singstar 80's bundle for $1.97. The guy looked at me and asked how I knew they were on clearance. I told them they were at other Sears stores on clearance. As soon as he was finished ringing me up he took a look around for other clearance games.

Oh and BTW. He told me about a mistake that Fallout 3 was priced in the computer at $20.00 but the manager fixed it the next day after he found out. Maybe this happened at other stores and they did not fix the price yet? He did not know which version but he said it was Fallout 3.

They're still scanning @$179 at the Sears Grand near me...

This company needs to get its shit together for pricing across the different store types...
 
At my local Sears, they have bunches of copies of Mercury Meltdown and Zoo Keeper that I would LOVE to snag for flipping purposes, but they don't have the generic barcode. So they ring up @ $9.99 and $14.99 respectively. Is there anything I can do about this? I doubt it, but it is worth a shot at asking the experts.

to easily explain this.. retailers like sears buys a bulk load of these what we call "front lane" games. they are usually displayed in front of electronics sections with their own massive cardboard displays but with a different UPC (meaning theres a sticker barcode where the original barcode is). they also have big price stickers infront of the games.

i will take a picture of the barcodes tonight. #-o

I went to Sears with a Best Buy ad to price match Ninja Gaiden II, that Best Buy has on sale for $9.99 . I had to get the clerk to get it out of the glass case and we walked up to the register and it rang up $39.99 and I showed him the ad and he said, wow! The clerk had to call a manager over to override the price match and she shook her head and said that is a good deal. Anyways,...long story short....Ninja Gaiden II $39.99.... Sale Credit -$30.00.... Price Match Guarantee -$3.00... Total price $6.99

Looked on their site, they do a +10% off a pricematch - I'm thinking it's ymmv that it'll be $3 off.
All of the sudden, NG2 is tempting.
 
Best Buy also has MLB 2K8, FaceBreaker, Condemned 2 and Turok for $9.99 as well, so you might want to see if Sears has those titles in stock if they interest you. Please be sure to take an add with you though, to price match.I just realized I don't have Condemned 2, I guess I'll go back down there today.:bouncy:

I guess it's YMMV on the price, but it was $39.99 at my Sears and I did pay $6.99 + tax. I just made another trip to Sears with my Best Buy ad and picked up Turok 360 Reg. price $24.97 after price match of $9.99 and 10% I paid $8.99 + tax on that one. I also picked up Condemned 2 : Bloodshot 360 Reg. price $39.99
after price match of $9.99 and 10% off I paid $6.99 + tax on that one . :bouncy: Another note: Eternal Sonata was marked down to $16.97 but I passed on that.
