Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

It was $19.97 in December and I think $15.97 for January so $16.97 sounds like a strange price, I guess it is another one of those YMMV games where it is more at some stores.

At my local Sears, there have been 3 copies of it priced at $16.97 for maybe a month. Hopefully Feb price drops bring it down, and then I might bite :)

Yeah, for me it was $19.97 for a few months until January, when it went down to $16.97.
 
So Sears does monthly drops typically? Sorry, haven't been following this thread closely. Do the drops tend to happen on the same day each month?

The Warhawk bundle is STILL fuckin' $16.97 around me. If those bad boys drop to .97 or even $6.97 I might pick one up for myself and maybe a couple to flip, but $17 for an ONLINE ONLY game is a huge ripoff even though the bundle comes with the silly headset.

It is multi-player only, that is different from online only.

Same difference to me, since I play many games by myself and I prefer something to have a dedicated single player mode and multiplayer and online modes as a 'bonus'.

But, if this game drops to some uber low price and they don't re tag the three copies by me I may pick up one.

Those are the 2 that I remembered, same price as when clearance started. Bunch of

Was it just idle speculation that there will be further cuts or has that been the pattern in the past?
 
I stopped by my local Sears today. (Nanuet, NY) I didn't see any crazy deals there... there were a few 360 games in a clearance bin but nothing worth picking up. I did get the guy to price match You're In The Movies (Target) and the Xbox Live 12+1 Month card (Best Buy) so it wasn't a total waste of a trip.

I made a bar code sheet of some games that I still want to pick up... forgot to print it out though before I left. My Sears has the electronics in it's own area with alarms if you leave the section with a game... there doesn't seem to be a scanner in that section. Are other stores different? How are you guys taking the games to scanners?

Some of my stores have the sort of "fenced off" area with alarms too. However, some just have the electronics next too other home appliances. Those kind have no set area and you're free to roam wherever with games to scan. You might some looks though...At least, I always do.
 
My local Sears also has the electronics in a seperate area, glass walls and only one way in and out with the alarms. Once a worker told me it was due to the amount of theft. Annoying to have to ask for a price checks but I will when neccessary (I usually have my UPC sheet but when you see something not on your list you have to ask)

Ah a small world indeed. I visited the same Sears today and came out empty handed.

It was actually the first time going to the Nanuet Mall and boy was that place a barren wasteland. More than half of the store stalls were vacant and it honestly felt like a ghost town walking down the main strip. I guess the Palisades Mall really did a number on them.

Dude... that mall is horrible now. I have no idea what they are going to do with it. The Palisades Mall is cool and all but trying to find a parking spot there isn't worth it when you are just trying to get in and out. Crazy that you were there today. Oh well... I guess I'll have to just keep going back and checking for new deals.

Add me to your list. As the nanuet mall is my home town area mall as well. LOL. yeah it has limited stuff

I've gotten a couple things from the Yonkers Sears fairly recently such as Scene It and Singstar Bundles. Nothing too mind boggling but at least it's something :).

The White Plains Sears had some pretty nice stuff but unfortunately, they've been cleared out lately.

Forgive my noob ignorance, but are some of you printing bar codes that Sears employees willingly scan and then they give you the actual clearance price on a game that isn't stickered as such?

Yes, that is correct. I usually print out the bar code for a pack of gum. Then I have the cashier scan the gum bar code instead of the game bar code. Then I get a game for, like, $.49! It's awesome! :)

Just kidding, of course. No, the bar code sheets are to be printed out and used at a self scanner. Like if you see a game in the locked glass case and you don't want to have to get someone to take the game out, you can take your bar code sheet with the game's bar code on it and scan it yourself.

No no... The bar codes are just so we can walk up to a scanner and quickly check the prices on games we want... Most of the games are either behind the display case and/or not labeled correctly.

can someone please write one of those idiots guide to sears clearances..

im jk. never have them scan your UPC printouts since they might red flag you. just a precaution. although i did had a lady scan a upc print out i had at kmart for a dvd camcorder for $15 and she was shock and told me "that can't be right". :whee:
 
Yes there are employees out there dumb enough to think you are somehow changing the prices with your UPC sheet especially if the games are tagged at full price.

Well im pretty much out of the game when it comes to hitting the sears sales because the one close to me is going under and the other two are pretty far and connected to malls so they are always cleaned out..

WTF. hack scanned up $14.97 here.
 
It's another one of those YMMV games, some people reported getting it for $0.97 a couple of months ago.

It was $14.97 2 months in a row at my local Sears around October or November but they sold the 2 copies they had before it could drop some more.

I'll post an update tonight if prices dropped, in December I know one Sears near me had the Decemeber prices on the 4th of the month while another did now. I'll check the one that did have the new prices on the 4th tonight unless the weather stops me from checking.
 
Getting the clearance video game price-adjusted @ sears is really a crap shot. Tried in two stores with the sears.com price protection printout. got $15 back on DDR2 @ one. The other sears basically told me that they cannot do the price adjustment. They just do not care what the sears.com price protection says. Called the sears 1800 customer retlation center, CSR told me that clearance merchandise does not qualify for the price protection. Then I told her to read what sears.com says about the price protection. She changed her tone and kept on telling me that price match and price protection are the same thing. So the PM exlusions also apply to price protection. I said why sears put :"apparel clearance merchandise does not qualify for price protection" under the price protection policy if the PM exclusions also apply to price protection. She says:"I do not know." Right, cause you are idiot!!!

Hmmm, this is exactly what happened to me....there were 2 copies at $14.97, then poof, they were gone. You dont happen to live in PA do ya?
 
if there are several sears in your area or within your reach, i would suggest price checking .Hack 3. then buy from sears 1 and price adjust at sears 2. $9.97 isnt too bad at all but, .97 is still better :)

I tried that with the Halo 3 LE.

It wasn't in the system where I bought it, so I was charged the full $70 on the tag.

Took it back to a different Sears where it rang up at $4.97 and asked for the Price Protection Guarantee.

Cashier saw that it was $65 less than I paid and made up some BS excuse about not being able to match it because it wasn't from his store. :roll:

I bet either the manager or his kids enjoyed that Halo 3. :bomb:


So yeah, YMMV on getting clearance prices matched at different Sears stores

price adjust is highly YMMV @ sears, plus sears.com states that you have to go to the original sears store on the receipt to get price adjusted(price protection policy)
