Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

My sears has apparently been invaded by another CAG. Just about everything is gone. I was previously able to let things go forever before anyone bought them, but around the time that heavenly sword dropped things have gotten more competitive. lol. Anyway, I found the last copy of Blacksite for the 360 which is what I actually went in to find. I scanned some stuff and got some odd prices.


NHL 09 360 29.99
Blacksite PS3 29.99 (WTF?)
120 GB Hard drive (approximately) 80.97 (strange)
If memory serves, Mercs 2 360 was 9.97

Lol. If you drive this far, you earned it IATCG. But you did just remind me that I completely failed to check out the bioshock situation. I'll let you know what I find.
 
I used to go all over with my one ex. We were hitting up stores far and wide and it was nothing for us to go from here to central NJ and back in a day looking for stuff back when she was still between jobs. But that was like 3-4 years ago.

Now, I'll only go to a store if there's still something left, which is why I wanna hit up that Sears I was just at last week or so, since I think they even have Haze and the PS3 Buzz bundle. For $5 each, I'll gladly buy them.

Thing is, I'll probably end up trading Haze to a buddy of mine and I'd only grab the copies of Bioshock for trade fodder, since I already have a copy(that I paid $20 for).

It may now be too late for those Bioshocks since the drops happened a week ago.

It may be, but I picked up The Simpsons for PS3 long after it dropped to $4.97 and it was sitting on the shelf for a while. The good part about the Sears I'm hitting is that the employees don't usually mark stuff, so unless I had them price check items they don't even know it's cheaper.
 
The Bioshock I picked up today was not tagged in a value bin. I was sure it would be gone since when I saw it last week (I thought it was taken off clearance and was full price), employees were starting to grab some of the games and by the time I realized it was $4.97 a few days later I figured someone would have grabbed it.

Crisis Core is YMMV, it scanned $19.99 for me.

Man was I glad I hit up another sears today. Found :360: Iron Man on Wednesday for $4.97 at one and today got two copies of :ps3: Bioshock, :360: Blacksite Area 51, and :360: Strangehold. Sweet.

That's the thing. I bought a complete copy on 360 from GameStop a long time ago, and a complete copy on PS3 from HWV sale. If I pick it up, it'd only be for trade/resell.
 
On Thursday I got :ps3: Iron Man for $2.97 and :ps3: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for $4.97. Iron Man was in the clearance section, Spider-Man was not, neither were tagged as clearance.

Oh yeah...I got 2 - GTAIV 360 SE 24.99 from GC this morning w/ store credit from the HWV 4.99 sale trade ins.

Strange it was $7.97 since I got it for $1.97 in June. I guess it's another one of those YMMV games because it rang up for $39.99 at another Sears in June as well.

I'm actually not that interested, I have it for the 360 already (and haven't played it!). If it hits $1.97, I'll pretty much have to buy it just for the hell of it.
 
I picked up Bourne Conspiracy for $4.97 and Tony Hawk Proving Ground for $2.97. I almost picked up Condemned 2 for $4.97 but didn't because I'm too scared.
 
I was able to land Bioshock (Last copy, muahahahahahah) and Viking for the PS3 for 4.97 each. SCORE!

I was hoping to find Folklore, Condemned 2, Heavenly Sword, and a few others but no luck.
 
My sears doesn't mark any clearance items any more. They just throw them all into the 29.99 and under bin. I usually don't have the time to price check any of it unfortunatly.

And when you do find them you have to yell at them to actually scan a game because they keep insisting that "it's the price marked". I do like their nervous responses when they find out a $30 game is actually $4.97 though, especially after they put your through the whole hassle. :)

finally made my first trip to the only sears in the area... couldnt find anything unfortunately

had some 80 year old guy scan 3 games for the hell of it and none were marked down... felt bad and gave up, lol... at least i know what games they have for next time
 
On Saturday I picked up the last NBA Ballers (PS3) for 1.97. It was marked 4.97 but rang up cheaper. They also had DBZ: Burst Limit (PS3) and two Strangleholds (360) marked as 4.97, but they might've dropped as well, I didn't check the prices.

This was in Clarksville, TN.
 
Nothing at my local Sears. Did see two copies of Bioshock (360), but they were the $30 GOTY versions. Only thing slightly notable was the 360 Vision Camera (with headset, 1 month Gold and an XBLA game) for $19.97.
 
I grabbed a bunch of things from the further off Sears today.

Picked up:

I think the copy of Diner Dash is already spoken for, as my buddies' brother in law might buy it for his wife from me.

I also checked the two copies of :ps3:Bioshock while I was there(after finding them in a dump bin and NOT in the case). They both came up $29.99 with NO SIGN of being on clearance at this store.

So count that as a YMMV game, at least in my case.

I also picked up an Emerson SmartSet alarm clock, which auto-sets itself after a power outage for $2.97.

Thing is, if they marked them correctly, the normal customers would grab them all before you'd have a chance to get ANYTHING. You don't even have time on weekends to stop by for like 10-20 minutes and check some stuff?

I usually get weird looks when I grab games from the bin and price check them myself at the scanner.

I couldn't agree with you more. I was able to pick the Simpson's Game for PS3 up at $4.97 around August 1, from what I've read it has been marked down for some time. Thing is, the price wasn't marked at $4.97, I think it may have still said $29.99. On the other hand, I was able to see a ton of games marked down at $4.97 and $1.97 last Monday, when I went back on Saturday, every single one of them was gone, but there were still a few games that were not marked that were still left. If your store doesn't change the sticker, consider yourself very lucky because otherwise things will get snatched before you even have a chance.

I hate having to find prices at the Sears by me because they only seem to have 2 scanners in the entire store, one upstairs and one downstairs. So, if I want to check the price, I have to walk half way across the store with all the games I want to check and scan them all. On top of the long walk, the only scanners they have are right by the registers. Generally there are people in line, so you get looks from them and if there are no people in line you get weird looks from the cashiers. I was taking a DDR bundle to check the other day because I thought I read it was on clearance, but couldn't remember and an employee stopped me and said that I should take that to electronics because no one else can take of the security strap, I'm like "Oh, okay, thanks!"



Did anyone notice any good price drops at Sears today? Last week was the first time I was able to go on a Monday and it showed me how much of a difference that can make. I was able to find just about every game that was reduced when I went, I couldn't go today, so I'm just curious what I may have missed :cry:
 
I checked two sears today, and neither one of them had any of the games you are picking up for anything under 29.99.

Tony Hawk, Bioshock, Viking, Motorstorm...

And boy did I get some looks for carrying a HUGE stack of games all the way across the store to the scanner. haha.

(Boardman, and Niles Ohio are my local sears)

Checked two Sears and although they had some clearance games, they didn't have Bioshock which was my main want (I still haven't finished it!). I put my clearance games up in the Sears Trading Thread.
 
Looks like my Sears got cleaned pretty well. A few months ago when I picked up Folklore and Condemned 2, none of the clearance games were in the bin and there were copies left over. Now I couldn't even find Folklore anywhere. There was a single PS3 game in the clearance bin, Viking, but I didn't have any interest at all in it. Was kind of hoping a copy of Heavenly Sword would magically appear.
 
Grabbed a Motorstorm that magically appeared for 2.97 :) , but Assassin's Creed, Too Human, and NBA Ballers: Chosen One (All 360) rang up 29.99, 29.99. and 19.99. Coincidentally, I just picked up Pacific Rift on clearance at Target, so I will be storming mad motors in the near future.
 
FYI, let the vision cam go for now and let it sit until maybe next markdowns. You're In the Movies is still available everywhere and it comes with the vision cam and the game. i think some people had already grabbed the vision cam by me since i saw 2 of them last i was there #-o
 
Crap!! I knew I forgot a game from my 'I'll play it for $2-5' list at the further Sears the other day. I forgot a copy of Motorstorm that I saw on the clearance shelf.

Oh well....not like I'd play it for longer than a couple hours anyway...
