Wow..I've never had a game thrown at me before, but it happened today at SEARS. I found :
2 - psp locoroco 2 2.97
1 - warioland 4.97
2 - viva pinata tip 6.97
2 - psp spiderman web of shadows 0.00
1 - pgr3 1.97
All these games were sitting in boxes. The boxes were stacked three high in 4 stacks in there clearance bin. Most of them had no prices. I thought that they looked like they were to be priced soon because games in the normal display all had new up to date pricing stickers.
As this kid is ringing up the games I can tell he is getting kinda irritated. He then proceeds to tell me he can't sell the spiderman cause it zeroed out. I offer to buy them for 2.97 each and he gets more pissed for some reason and says it can't be sold. So I finish paying, and he puts spiderman right back where I found it. On the way out I see a DS FFIV - 2.97 sitting in a clearance rack. I bring it back to pay and he tells me "nothing out there is on clearance", he scans it and sees 2.97. His face humbles for an instant, he says "oh.." then he flings the game at me frisbee style and it lands right in front of me on the counter. He almost crumbled the recipt into a ball before giving it to me. I had to chuckle as I left electronics. I may have bought some stuff he wanted. LOL
Awesome haul! For good measure I would have probably complained to his manager at that point for harassment, but you handled it well.
Its funny how often employees get mad at us because they think that WE are scamming them. Like we somehow hacked into their database and changed price values, or we forced corporate at gunpoint to lower prices, or we're using psychic powers to manipulate the scanner. I can't count how many times I've had them scan, rescan, rescan, and rescan the same game, expecting a different price to come up, only to manually enter the numbers for the same result. It blows their mind and somehow its OUR fault with our devil's insider knowledge of how we "pulled a fast one on them".
