Official Sears Clearance Thread II - post Sears finds/deals here
Almost and awesome clearance story:

Early in June, I bought a 32in bravia and a wall mount at my local Sears. While doing the rounds last week, I found the same wall mount on clearance at a store across town for $30 less. So I bought it and took it back to Sears #1 to return it with the original receipt. The girl at the electronics register told me before the return started that she might not be able to help me because their system was down and she was having to manually key in everything (sounded like the scanner was down). Anyway-- she gets my phone number and starts manually keying the return. A moment passes then she says "Man, these things are pricey", and hands me back my receipt and tells me to have a good night. I look down and realize she has credited me back the cost of the TV and not the mount. A $550.00 credit, instead of a $100.00 one. I held the receipt for a minute before deciding that I couldn't in good conscious walk out of the store. So i stopped her as she walked away and pointed out the mistake. She nearly fell over when I pointed it out to her. She was very appreciative, and thanked me several times while correcting the mistake.
good karma better happen to you.
Playing a game? How does one play a game? I still play alot of my games, but if I can find a game(or nine) that I can trade in that I have no interest in to make enough credit to get games I want then I'll still do it.

Speaking of which, I still have to figure out where the hell to offload these Motorstorm: Pacific Rift copies I picked up.;)

:whistle2:k ...............

I've been wanting to add that to my collection. PM me your shipped price.
Ditto this.

CAG moment of the year. If there was a way to nominate you for such a thing, I would do so.

It's so rare on most sites to hear of people actually doing the right thing. Kudos!

Not sure if these were posted in the last 100 pages but theyre not in the OP and I picked these up today:

Xbox 360 Rock Revolution - $2.97
Xbox 360 Guitar Hero Smash Hits - $9.97

nice...at least theres still some decent people out there

i think if it was a few bucks you wouldnt of cared, mayb an extra $20-50, but since the difference was a TV, and an extra $450, then that would of got her fired or what not

:applause:

Does anyone know if PSP Gran Turismo is on clearance, and at what price? I specifically ask because from june's drops there was ONE post that referenced it being some weird price like $3.92 so I'm wondering if this was a strange ymmv-one-store-only price or if this one has just slipped under the radar? And I already know "check it yourself" and I intend to when I get the chance to run out there, but I figured I'd see if anyone already knew.

Well that was a refreshing post to read here. :D

I get so tired of reading nothing but boasting from hoarders about wiping out entire clearance sections just to flip them for profit, completely screwing over those of us who actually like to play video games and would love to get some of these titles for cheap (as in 1 copy each).

I hope good fortune comes your way nbballard.

Very nice of you to to bring up that mistake. We make commission in the Electronics. Would have been quite the hit for her.

Changing the subject to July clearance, Im not sure whats going on yet. Last month the computer told me the new price a few days before the drop happened. I looked up a couple clearance games today and they didnt offer the next month price yet. Still trying to figure out how it all works but if its like last month it might not tell me until 2-3 days before the drop.

My store is pretty low on anything clearance-wise....been snapped up over the past couple of weeks.

Would love for some new titles to join the mix this month. Fingers crossed!

And are there any good deals on PSP games for cheap besides Loco Roco 2 and NBA games? Might be getting a system soon...

Wow..I've never had a game thrown at me before, but it happened today at SEARS. I found :
2 - psp locoroco 2 2.97
1 - warioland 4.97
2 - viva pinata tip 6.97
2 - psp spiderman web of shadows 0.00
1 - pgr3 1.97
All these games were sitting in boxes. The boxes were stacked three high in 4 stacks in there clearance bin. Most of them had no prices. I thought that they looked like they were to be priced soon because games in the normal display all had new up to date pricing stickers.
As this kid is ringing up the games I can tell he is getting kinda irritated. He then proceeds to tell me he can't sell the spiderman cause it zeroed out. I offer to buy them for 2.97 each and he gets more pissed for some reason and says it can't be sold. So I finish paying, and he puts spiderman right back where I found it. On the way out I see a DS FFIV - 2.97 sitting in a clearance rack. I bring it back to pay and he tells me "nothing out there is on clearance", he scans it and sees 2.97. His face humbles for an instant, he says "oh.." then he flings the game at me frisbee style and it lands right in front of me on the counter. He almost crumbled the recipt into a ball before giving it to me. I had to chuckle as I left electronics. I may have bought some stuff he wanted. LOL

Awesome haul! For good measure I would have probably complained to his manager at that point for harassment, but you handled it well.

Its funny how often employees get mad at us because they think that WE are scamming them. Like we somehow hacked into their database and changed price values, or we forced corporate at gunpoint to lower prices, or we're using psychic powers to manipulate the scanner. I can't count how many times I've had them scan, rescan, rescan, and rescan the same game, expecting a different price to come up, only to manually enter the numbers for the same result. It blows their mind and somehow its OUR fault with our devil's insider knowledge of how we "pulled a fast one on them".

//end rant

Real nice haul you got there! Sometimes its really hard for workers to actually do their job. The last time I went to Sears, I found a copy of Crackdown that didn't ring up in the system. The chick who was helping me, called their manager and told him I brought up a bunch of 2.97-4.97 games that were clearanced so the manager told her to just sell it for $4.97. :bouncy:

Mine is now cleaned out. I did noticed that a few games on clearance had their price stickers completely removed. I suspect that some employee went through the case looking for bargins. The Clearance rack was moved from a traffic Isle to the back of electronics. Or maybe they are getting ready to load the rack up again.

Really nice haul there. I would've asked for his manager after that sort of attitude was directed at me. If he wanted the stuff he had ample time to buy it.

The reason they were probably all in boxes was because he was going to stash them in the back room till they were all $.97 or so and buy them up.

That reminds me that my other close Sears game cases got suspiciously empty recently.

Either it's an order from corporate to ship them back because they sell them for higher on the website or some employees are trying to stash them in the one place we don't have access to: the back room of the store.

I considered it but I didn't want to aggravate him any more. My wife is a retail store manager and I realize people have bad days...I'll probably go back though and ask the manager if I can buy spider man for 1.97 lol

I just moved and the stores I used to go to definitely had games in the back. I would go in there with a list of games I was looking for and just give it to them (as I'm writing this, I am realizing it sounds like a bad idea). A few times they came out with stuff ie. 9.97 Fallout GOTY, 9.97 Motorstorm Pacific etc. but most times they would say they didn't see those specific titles. They probably stashed aside everything on my list for themselves. Two of the stores re-organized the game storage areas. Whole glass cases disappeared, as well as all the games in them.

My closest Sears took all of their clearance shovelware and jammed them into a small rack that should hold 100 games but it has 300 in it. Dang cases broken, shrinkwrap torn off. Took me a blasted hour to put all of them in the floor:cool: and then the scanner was fucked up. So I had this old guy in housewares scan about 40 games for me. Everthing was back at retail except for Bakugan at $9.97 . I asked if he wanted me to reshelve the games and he said that was the electronics guys job:D

The one store in my area which had 4-7 copies of Loco Roco 2 and some other clearance games left just two weeks ago is down to one copy of Viva Pinata: Trouble In Paradise(marked $9.97), one copy of Loco Roco 2 and one copy of Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, which was marked $14.97 the last time I was there.

Of course now that copy of the SW game is crammed into the bottom of the lower case, which only has about maybe 20-25 games in it now and that's the ONLY clearance one in there.

I think corporate might've sent out an edict to pack up and ship back games. Either that or El Hoardo is branching out from Target now.

Took a trip to Amish country today (northern Indiana). I went to a Sears in Mishawaka, IN thinking I would be able to find a couple of deals. Someone hit that bitch. There was nothing there at all. I was shocked.

Even at an out-of-the-way sears, I wouldn't be surprised that it was completely depleted at the END of the month's drops. That's 3.5 weeks that stuff has had to sell. :/
It's been a long month, can anyone remind me what's going to drop to $5 tomorrow? I need some Amazon flips to buy diapers...
This is Cheap Ass GAMER, not Cheap Ass Baby's Daddy.

Leave the cheap games for the people who will actually play them and go get a job! :bomb:

Found a couple PSP 3000 Metal Gear special editions that appeared from out of nowhere. They were locked up and tagged at $199.99, so I couldn't scan them. Also in the case were some $9.97 games (GH: WT is all that I can recall), while all the rest of the clearance games were in the wire basket. Weird.

So if all goes in line with the past there should be drops tomorrow correct? I dont keep to close to the patterns I just wait until people start blowing up this thread with games and prices..

Correcto. First Friday of the month

My sears has about 50 different DS games (including a bunch of the imagine games that were not Family Doctor) in a bin. I'm going to check a bunch of them tomorrow and report back.
Hoping for some good wii games to go on clearance like boom blox bash party :D
missed out for $10 at BB on Black Friday? that's where I think I nabbed mine..won't be able to make it by a Sear's that clearance's games, so good luck to all!

I work tonight and tomorrow morning so Ill try to get some info on the drop. The hand scanner usually tells you the upcoming price so Ill scan some June stuff to see if its going this week or next week

My guess is that drops will be July 9th, not tomorrow. The April drop wasn't until the 9th which was the second Friday of the month. But feel free to check tomorrow and confirm for me so that I don't have to. ;)

I did see one of the other Imagine games marked at $9.97 yesterday at the other Sears in my area, though I don't remember which one. Then again, there's like eleven billion of them, so how could one keep track of them?

Hahaha

Does anybody know if these bad boys are clearanced? I know they are on PS3 but I wasn't sure for 360:

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
NHL 07
Guitar Hero Metallica
Spiderman 3

Here goes, what, month 3?...of hoping to find Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the $2.97 that seemingly everyone else has been finding it for. I'm sure it'll ring up $19.99 again, though...
