I probably would've checked if there was anything really left by now at my closest two Sears stores, but there has been nothing for the last two drops just about. So for me it's a waste even if stuff dropped to $1.97 cuz there's nothing to grab.:cry::bomb:
 
I'll check my sears a little after 10am EST. I think the only games I can get to without asking for someone to unlock the glass dungeon are A Boy and His Blob and Wario Shake it, but I'll post results.
 
I'll try to go today, at least to get the Metal Gear PSP scanned and stock number printed for future scanning.

I need to grab a Harmony 720 remote, too.
 
I am probably going to check later today. And a quick question: is it common for Sears to not change the price tags on clearance items?

Pretty much. Most of the finds I have show the clearance price from a few months ago, which is always good if you know what you're looking for.
 
Do we have any consensus on a list of DS games to check. I have my upc sheet filled with 360, ps3 and wii games but hardly any DS. I don't think Derek mentioned any to focus on and there are far too many Imagine games for me to even guess which ones are the new Family Doctor.

I'm at sears right now and on an iPhone so bear with me, I can verify dollar drops. Hawx ps3 is now 13.97, rainbow 6 Vegas 2 ps3 18.97, unrealtournament 3 360 is 12.97
 
Any of the music games that dropped last month would probably be the best indicator of this month's drops (Metallica, Smash Hits, World Tour, Lego Rock Band). If the PS3 versions are 3.97 and 360 versions are 8.97, there isn't much hope for good drops this month. If the PS3 versions are 2.97 and the 360 versions are 4.97, then this month could be good.

I'll be checking one local store during my lunch, I should be able to report back around this afternoon.
 
Before I left I took a picture of a 360 guitar hero game with the price being 8.97 (upon checking it was world tour). If you are in store check the clearance clothing I just picked up two adidas Boston college football jersies for 5.99 each :)

I've been wondering about Halo Wars as well. They seem to have a ton of copies at my Sears, including several LEs.

ive been frequently checked tons of copies of varies games, (left 4 dead 2, gears of war 2, halo 3, halo 3 odst, etc etc) no go...not yet anyways

It seems like the next gen consoles will be out before they put some of that stuff on clearance.

true but since i saw at least 10 copies of each game in the case i would think they would mark them down to at least free up the cases for new games/accessories and what not
 
The drops seem to be pretty much as xDerekRx reported. The few items I checked either hadn't dropped at all or only dropped a dollar. Not only that, all the copies I was waiting on for Dirt 2 are now gone...shame. Everything I checked below was from a UPC sheet.

Dirt 2 (360) 12.97 (STILL!)

Thanks for all your efforts Derek. The only thing that would really help this month is if you were able to get a hold of the very poorly organized but infamous "drops sheet", to see if anything new hit the drop cycle this month.
 
Went over during my lunch break and picked up:

A Boy and His Blob - Wii ($3.97)
Soul Calibur III - PS2 ($.97)

The only other tempting items were:

Wolfenstein - Xbox 360 ($12.97)
Final Fantasy Revenant Wings - DS ($12.97)
 
Went by a Sears today that reorganized the game section since last month and anything clearance was gone... Noticed every game was price tagged with current prices so anything clearance in those cases fell victim to employees :bomb:

That's exactly what happened at the other Sears by me. They had a copy or two of Wolfenstein for PS3,, two copies of Dirt 2 for PS3, a few copies of WET for PS3, about 5-7 copies of LocoRoco 2 and various other odds and ends.

The next time I went there....all gone.
 
Just got back from Sears and its the same old clearance, only $1 cheaper.

I also scanned a bunch of UPCs for "floating glass cage" games and other games that have been floating around the bins (No More Heroes, Donkey Kong, Kirby Superstar Deluxe, etc) but nothing new.

The one thing i DID notice is that they were selling DQIX early and it was in their clearance bin rather than on the shelf with the other DS games.

At my local Sears, all the clearance titles were off to one side of the electronics area on their own shelf. Everything in the glass cases was new and full price.

If you have yet to check your local Sears, make sure to scour the electronics department before giving up. Or ask someone.
 
I can also verify the new clearance price cycle. Guitar Hero World Tour (360) was 8.97 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PS3) was 18.97. I did buy Raiden Fighters Aces (360) though for 15 bucks.

Im going to check out the other sears by me and hope for something.. Im just kinda irked that ot has been comfirmed to only be $1 drops....... Either way im hoping that the store still has the lan adaptors ... I missed out on them at the one shopko I stopped at that had them on clearance for $1.97.

It seems as though the word has gone down the pipeline about the clearance and finally the stores are bucking down on it.. Bad for us all around and looks like this outlet is also going to dry up.

Im sorry to SHC because he has been giving great deals on new games but im starting to agree with all the bigger reps for these stores hanging around they are responsible.

The reps coming has killed clearances!!! Time to see if my post gets axed.

Looks like Amazon is gonna be getting more of my money in the future.
 
The deals on newer release titles have been nuts, but since they showed up it does seem like clearance cycles have been winding down and getting harder to predict.

Hopefully we don't end up with another Mark Of Kri situation with ALL of the games currently on the cycle at Kmart and Sears, where the games stick at a certain pricepoint until they either sell out or someone at corporate remembers they were trying to clear them out.
 
Wait until next month before you start pointing fingers and proclaiming that sears clearance has dried up. As someone previously reminded us, last July had no drop. So 1 dollar is better then nothing.

Of course...if you keep saying sears clearance is dead, there will be less people buying up all the good stuff, so go for it!

the thing that blows my mine with Kmart and the SHC guy putting new games at nice sales to move them is one thing but they still have a ton of older titles filling up the displays which is similar with Sears.... why not go at the clutter with some aggressive sales?

I guess there is always going to be more questions and head scratching when it comes to Kmart/Sears and eventually they are going to meet the Circuit City Style end so we might as well get what we can...:cry:

:whistle2:$Don't be saying that. Sears and Kmart are the only two stores I get my clearance deals from now. If they go the way of Circuit City then I might have to resort to either buying from Gamestop used more often:puke:or paying MSRP for everything.

Target is a dead zone around here unless you do the evil El Stasho routine and I haven't stepped foot in a TRU store since I went to use up 90% of my credit I had there a couple of months ago.

It has been pretty much this way for me around here for a long time now :cry:
 
What amazes me is to see 07 and 08 sports games at Sears for full price or at $19.97 and all the other old games at full price. As mentioned KMart is worse, many original XBox and Gamecube games are full price. I hope next month we get a regular drop in prices and KMart clearance picks up again but I feel like neither store will ever have clearance as great as it used to be
