Edit by Io - The most recent (1/26) drops are in the very beginning of the second post, so look there first!

------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT -- Feb 4th
Things have changed drastically since I started this thread and I've gone from a quality control monitoring job with other duties thrown in to monitoring double the amount plus the work of others. Bascially, I now do the job of three comparing the company now to that of a year ago thanks to layoffs and not hiring to replce people leaving. Plus I generally work 6 days a week and often ten hours with no break. I'd quit, but I have a hunch that our department will be hubbed in another city around July and I might as well hang in for the layoff package. Basically, this means I have zero time for internet and thread managing the way it should be done. My trade list and pm box fall by the wayside and I hardly email or even check my facebook/myspace. I didn't even find time to manage my fantasy football team and will completely forego baseball.

I know IO is busy enough as it is with a couple of threads, but if anyone wants to take over this thread and start a new one, please do so. Of course, I should have all the time in the world to keep it up to date if you want to wait unitl around July.

I got tired of going to TRU for the most recent clearance drops only to find more here on CAG from one of the three threads after I got back from the store. So I've compiled a list from the posts of Starving Gamer, Benboxer, life.exe, cmosfm, Kevzik's pics of lists at his store, the lists I saw at local TRUs and the many posts of awesome CAGs in those threads. I am by no means associated with TRU and I don't have inside information on upcoming drops, but I wanted to post a consolidated list to help other CAGs. As new drops occur Benboxer, Starving Gamer and anyone else is welcome to post new lists here and/or in seperate threads for more attention for the new items and I'll update the OP for total lists. Please keep in mind that some of these games are YMMV on price and as with all ongoing clearances availability is always YMMV as well. Most 9.90, 5.00 and 3.00 games are from the recent drop of a couple weeks ago. Thanks again for everyone's contributions and especially those early lists. I wanted to get this up and running and will do some tidying to the list as necessary. I'm not familiar with every game on the list so feel free to post or pm inconsistencies in titles!

NEW PLEASE READ SEE POST #2 FOR LATEST DROPS
A few things about pricing. All of the last round of drops are 9.90, 5.00, or 3.00. A lot of the 9.90 games were 19.98 before, most of the 5.00 were 9.98 and most of the 3.00 were 5.00. So if you see a game that is 19.98, chances are it may drop to 9.90 next drop which will probably be in a few months. As with any clearance a lot of these games may have been sold out at your store before they were even clearanced and now that the latest drop has been at least a month those games may be hard to find now, too. I do still see several 19.98 some 9.90 and some 5 & 3 games in this area. Don't forget to check the glass case and you can ask if a game is in back as sometimes this is the case.

Don't forget to post your trade wishes and wants in the Official TRU Trading Thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121672

READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CHECKING THE LIST
Games in blue are from the latest drop, most of which were on clearance already at higher price points.
Games in green are VERY RARE games from the latest drop that were originally shipped to stores in VERY LIMITED quantities when the game was released and only a very few CAGs have found these.
Games in Yellow are have been widely reported as YMMV as pertains to price point.
Games in Orange are new reports that are awaiting confirmation
My TRU has Baten Kaitos Origins for $15 and Jam Sessions for $10, or at least that's what the stickers say. Does TRU have a universal pricing system where every game should be the same amount at every store, or is mine just behind the times?
My experience has been that they have a universal pricing system, so the price drops will take regardless if the prices are updated on the shelf.

I haven't really gone to Toys R Us because it moved ever further away (and I can't find it), but the amount of stuff I'd buy on the list for my collection is ungodly. I guess I'm gonna have to try harder and bite the bullet on driving 45 mins away.

I caved and went back and bought VT3 (360) for $10 and Zack and Wiki (Wii) for $19.98 I've been meaning to pick up Zack and Wiki for a long time now but my local Best Buys, Targets, etc, have all been sold out for a long time since it hit the $20 mark.

Picked up Oblivion, F.E.A.R., Farcry, and Splinter Cell...is Shadowrun worth 10 bucks?

Lol'd at seeing Stranglehold for 10, just bought it from gamefly used...for the same price.

I found a $3 off $3 purchase birthday card in my wallet this morning, so I went back and picked up a new copy of Prey to replace my "used" copy. Only cost me $2 out of pocket.

I liked Shadowrun, but its like counter strike except you use magic powers and stuff.

IMO Shadowrun is definitely worth $10 if you like online FPS's. I bought it at $60 and played it everyday last summer in online co-op with a buddy against bots last summer. There is no single player game and the online gamers are VERY competitive. It's more like a sport than a videogame. But overall, I really like it because it's very well balanced out in terms of weapons, upgrades, magic, etc. I recommend it.

Some drops I noticed today that I had never seen before at Layton Utah store:

Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow $10 (as noted one page back)
Capcom Puzzle World $5
Gangs of London PSP $5
Virtua Tennis 3 PSP $10
Enchanted Arms 360 with artbook $10
Godfather PS2 $10
Tony Hawk Wasteland 360 $10
Forza 2 360 $10
Harvest Moon PSP $10
Top Spin 2 360 $10

There were more but thats all I can remember. These were at the front of the store in a dump bin.

damn. i didn't know that. i've been avoiding my tru and came out empty handed a few times because i thought they were priced as marked unless in a bin. i'll try this out tomorrow.

Picked up Stranglehold and Dead Rising for 9.98

They also had Far Cry, DOA4, more Stranglehold, Valk. Profile 2, RATATOUILLE, MEET ROBINSONS, DDR UNIVERSE, sports games, jam session, harry potter, fusion frenzy, vt3, and a few more. If anybody wants any of those to trade for a Blue Dragon PM me.

In a computerized retail world, nothing on CAG is ever priced as marked. Not until all price tags are RFID chipped and sport E-Ink technology.

best buy, walmart, target, etc aren't nationwide databases with standard pricing...

Picked up Godfather Blackhand Edition (Wii) and Splinter Cell (Wii) along with the last purchase of a new GameCube game at my Toys'RUs.

It was Super Monkey Ball 2 for $5

 No more new GameCube games forever!!
best buy, walmart, target, etc aren't nationwide databases with standard pricing...
What does that have to do with anything? My point was that the sticker price is rarely the actual price. That holds true at any store.
How much was Godfather and Splinter Cell.
These are 9.98 a piece. still more copies at the henderson, nv store if anyones interested(behind counter). ALso for the wii they had many copies of shrek 3 at 9.98 plus about 5 copies of Fantastic 4, and 2 copies of Super Monkey Ball, marked at 19.98 but ringing up as 5.00.

I picked up Splinter Cell for $5.....they had F.E.A.R, Far Cry, Prey, Eternal Sonata, Virtua Tennis 3 (360/Ps3) and a few other games.

Not sure if I even want Splinter Cell.....I forgot to look for Trauma Center, and that was one game I sort of wanted.

Gah... I passed on Godfather for $20 at EB, $10 might need to be rebought. Just don't know if I'll be able to play through the whole game without ending up bored to make it worthwhile.

Thanks to CAG...

2wks ago I went to a TRU for shiggles.

Found 3 Final Fantasy III's for 14.99 ea. I was pretty stoked because I had been looking to get these for me, my gf and her sister so it worked out pretty good.

Thanks to the notice in this thread about it dropping another 5.00 AND this week being b2 g1, I took them back, got a refund on all 3, turned around and bought them back for just over 20.00!

Decided to see what else the b2 g1 had to offer so I checked the DS games again and got

Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime 9.98 x2

Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales 9.98 x2

Children of Mana x2

Gotta love CAG!
What does that have to do with anything? My point was that the sticker price is rarely the actual price. That holds true at any store.
my point was that the store price is the actual price and drives the sticker price.

Picked up over the last couple days:

2x Jam Sessions DS @ 5 (1 free)
1x Children of Mana DS @ 10
1x SMB Banana Blitz Wii @ 5
1x Splinter Cell: Double Agent Wii @ 5
1x Godfather Wii @ 10

The clerk was rattling off all the price-dropped games from the past week and told me SC: DA for Wii was $5. It rang up $9.98 and he said, 'Hmmm...they must've raised the price today. Give me a second and I'll override it." The guy behind me grabbed one and got it for $5 as well.

Yeah, Jam Sessions is now $5, Elite Beat Agents is $9.98, Magical Starsign is $9.98, and Guilty Gear Dust Strikers is $9.98. I can provide a picture of a receipt for proof of all except GG:DS if you want.

As for Eternal Sonata... I wish I could find one.

Wow, my tru sucks. Nearly everything cleared out, and not just clearance games. The guy working there said they rarely get any 360 games, just DS and Wii since thats all they sell at this one. He went on to say that they don't even get Wiis like other tru do. And I can see why, the games area was jsut a mess, and at opening. I was surprised that a lot of people were camped out in front, like 12-15 people. And then the guy opened the doors and said no wiis, and half the people left...I thought they were getting easier to find. I picked one up a day after seeing them at BB a few days ago.

Oh, but I can confirm that Blue Dragon for $10 in B&M, they had one copy, but I said "Meh..." and walked out.
I'm going to stop by before work today and see if I can pick up a few cheap games. Any chances of me finding Eternal Sonata?
ES was from the last big drop (check the list for that drop in post 2 for the actual date) and only a handful of CAGs found it at their stores along with Overlord and a few others. Very YMMV.

As for the OP and the list of current drops, to make a long story short, my main job which used to afford me time to keep up with this thread is much more time consuming. It is mostly a monitoring job with lots of other tasks, but now I do that as well as another full time job at my work because of some changes and I now have 9 hour days with no break which I used to use to check out CAG deals. Starting July 4th, when some folks get laid off I will do the job of four jobs each day. Also, the PC I now have is amazing slow and crashes all the time and I have a second job and the usual life with kids taking up all my time at home.

Anyway, until I get a new job it will be hard for me to keep the list updated so if anyone wants to help and compile a list of new games that aren't in starving gamer's list for this drop, I will add them into the current new drop list in the second post and the work would be appreciated by myself and other CAGs who value the knowledge of what has dropped and may be unmarked at their local TRUs. Thanks!

My local TRU had probably a dozen of those with the novel -- the big thick packages. They're not as hard to find as everyone seems to think they are.

Don't bother to go to Times Square TRU. They have nothing worthwhile, and the only game they had that I want (NBA Street Homecourt) was not marked down to 9.90.

I think I have a problem. I picked up Elite Beat Agents and Jam Session for the DS because I enjoy music games. The problem is, I don't own a DS. When you buy clearance games for systems you don't own, is it time for counseling?

Haha depends on who you ask! I've never bought a game for a system I didn't own, BUT I have picked up and put down a game one day only to go back the next morning and buy it. Why didn't I just pick it up in the first place you ask? No idea, but I think I might be suffering from the same problem so to start us all off....

"My name is Dave and I am a cheapass for video games..."

*here's the part where you all say..."Hi Dave" lol!
I picked up blue dragon and shadowrun at a orlando fl toys r us. They had at least 6 blue dragon games.
mine had one, which I was very surprised they had, but I wasn't interested. I wrote down 17 titles from this thread that people picked up, and I asked the guy working there. The only one that they had was that one blue dragon.

I just came back from my local TRU on Rockville Pike in Maryland.

They had a bunch of stuff like Fuzion Frenzy 2, Fatal Fury Anthology, Art of Fighting Anthology that I looked at but ended up not getting.

They didn't have Dead Rising but they did have one last copy of Earth Defense Force which I snagged. If anyone still has Dead Rising at their store I'd love to buy it for cost+shipping, or I'd even buy a game here that you guys need.

They also had one last copy of Enchanted Arms that had some cardboard covering on it. How good is that game?

Blue Dragon is a decent enough RPG for $9.98 my brother was mad because about 6-7 months ago he paid $60 lol.

My TRU stores are pretty stripped of anything except massive quantities of MGS3:SE and Gun for PS2... Really wanted one of those Hot Shots Tennis for $5 because I want to play it but can't justify the normal $29.99 retail price everywhere else....Mine are all barron..

Which TRU is that? In my experience, the Culver City TRU, La Cienega TRU, and Burbank TRU are all stocked similarly.

Went to 2 TRU in utah today. Did see some perfect dark zero, Blue Dragon, Shodowrun and some other for 9.98 and bought Prey for 5$. Couldn't find any Dead Rising or Eternal Sonata the dude works there said they went fast after the 9.99 clearance.

Badass I hope my TRU busts out some new PS3 titles last time I've gone they haven't had jacksquat :'(
