*OFFICIAL* TRU 50% OFF DEAL! COMPLETE LIST ON FIRST PAGE!

Today, I picked up Mojo (PS2) for $5 and Perfect Dark (N64) also for $5. Mojo I picked up cause i figure it would be fun for a few hours. And Perfect Dark was the only copy, and me and my friends up at college have been looking for it.

They had plenty of Xbox games, including Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil, and other popular ones.

They also had PS2 bundles with Jak and Ratchet & Clank. Is this the one that is half off?
In addition to my other stuff, I bought Rygar today for 10 bucks. Thinking of returning Frequency though.
Don't. If Frequency is anything like Amplitude (its sequel), it should be a well-rounded game and well worht your time. Give it a shot.
If this is a clearance sale, are they ever going to stop? Or will it go as long as supplies last? I think they're smarter to do that. Why would they green tag the items for a week's sale? Now they're going to re-tag them all to the regular prices? Doesn't make sense IMO. Also if TRU is going out of business, hopefully this is the first of better sales to come.
I'm guessing the latter. The stuff that I've scanned there with the green tags said it expired 12/31/05, if I remember correctly.
One thing has anyone had any trouble getting
star wars: rebel strike, ssx 3 (gc), or ZOE2?
No trouble for the GCN version of SSX3. There were plenty of copies at the Toys'R'Us (s) I went to, and it rang up half price.
One thing has anyone had any trouble getting
star wars: rebel strike, ssx 3 (gc), or ZOE2?
The first time I went to TRU I couldn't find ZOE2 - they didn't even have a tag for it with the PS2 games - but just last week I stopped in there to check out what they had and they had a bin full of games towards the front of the store. Digging around in it, I found a couple copies of ZOE2.

As for the other two games, I don't think my TRU had them in stock. I know they didn't have any copies of Rebel Strike. Not so sure about SSX3.

Just got back from my TRU (again). Realized they had about ten copies of .hack 3, so I picked one up. And another copy of Ring of Red, and two copies of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XBox). Still tons of stuff left! My plan is to slowly bleed this place dry, since obviously nobody else knows/cares about it.

Well my PS2 seems to have trouble reading CD based PS2 games. All of them are fine but it works very hard to play them. I can kinda feel it vibrate. I got a feeling that this is bad for the PS2 and that's why I might return frequency.

I made what I think will be my last trip to TRU today, to get any Dreamcast games I was wanting. I left with:

Typing of the Dead
Samba de Amigo
The Next Tetris
Outtrigger
Phantasy Star Online ver 2
Worms World Party
Sega Rally 2
Mars Matrix

I'm kind of saddened that I couldn't find a copy of Paper Mario, but I really can't complain too much - I got a hell of a lot of stuff over the past week or so.

Got Deus Ex : IW for Xbox (even though I'm not a big fan of the game - can't beat $10) and Bloodwake PH.

They had a lot of games marked with the green sticker and many signs saying "50% off games marked with green tag" but I noticed that quite a few games that were supposed to be 50% off aren't tagged (kill.switch for Xbox wasn't green tagged, for instance - a game I bought two weeks ago for 50% off at TRU). Oh well.

I went to TRU today and I found out that Devil may cry part 1 was $19.99 . It was supposed to be $10.00 at TRU. The employ didn't really help me much. Sure he scanned it. Whats wrong here. :( The game is already old. there is part 1,2, and a part 3 soon enough. fry's, circuit city, and target are great stores. bye

Had the same problem with my PS2, but it was still in warranty so I sent it to sony for them to fix it. They send it back saying they fixed it, but it came back with the same problem. So I sent it back again and they gave me a refurb and I ended up getting an extra controller.

Was it a GH? If so, I think that may have something to do with it.

my last trip to TRU... i hope

Onimusha Tactics $10 GBA
Boktai $7.50 GBA
ZOE 2 $10 PS2
bunch of .01 guides. CS, Mario Kart, NFL Street and Dragonball Z guides

Defiance, can you pick me up one of those copies of .hack part 3? :)

I have to say this is totally YMMV. Went to a chicago and the games I had scanned and rung up were NOT 50% off (SSX3, SPLASHDOWN, ALTER ECHO). What gives?

You did have the employee ring it up as a sale and not just a price check, right? It doesn't drop to half off until the person hits the total button.

I went to the TRU in Vallejo, California on my way to work last night and picked up RoadKill for the XBox because I'm a sucker for car combat games priced at $10.

Same story with Fairfield, there's absolutely no indication that there is any sort of sale. Some games are marked with signs saying clearance but they don't have the 50% off price listed. None of the sales clerks have known about the sale that I've briefly interacted with.

Even though you seem to like the Raiders, SiLvErNbLaCk415, you should go back to the Daly City store with the first page of this topic printed out. At the checkstand just tell them you only want the games that come up 50% off. That's what I've done and they've been pretty cool about it at both TRUs I've been to.

I'm going again before work tonight with my act together this time to pick up a bigger haul (maybe)....

You can add Turok II, Turok III, and Quake II for N64 to the list. I don't know the prices for these N64 games but they were part of the sale at my TRU and are not on the list.

They had a ton of Resident Evil 2's at this TRU. Atleast 30 copies.

BTW does anyone else think that Mega Man 64 for $25 is a bit absurd? Its more expensive than a ton of XBOX, PS2, and GC games that are on sale.

that is the worst suggestion i've ever read? THIS IS AN INTERNET FORUM.

also posting that yesterday, geoffrey scanner said reg. $14.99 for GRAN TURISMO 2, and that THE GREEN TAGs have been REMOVED, and changed back to RED...

You gotta remember that TRU has been clearancing out N64 games for literally years now. I picked up Paper Mario for $10 or $12 about a year and a half ago. At those prices, it wasn't going to last this long.

Can anyone help me out with finding a copy of .hack part 3 from the TRU sale? If you have a local TRU that still has a copy and are willing to pick it up for me, please PM me. Thanks. :D

Have you played the first two? How are they, in terms of an RPG storyline?

I have played the first two. I enjoyed the storyline that is taking place so far. I have heard conflicting reviews, however most are good for the entire series. Does a TRU that is local to you have a copy of .hack part 3?

I decided to go by and see if they had anything decent, so I ended up with:
Final Fantasy Tactics $7
Twisted Metal Small Brawl $5
Fantasvision $7

The game will not ring up at $10.00 if it has a newer barcode sticker over the original barcode. At my store, I had to look through about 10 copies to find one without the new barcode. (The one I purchased was a GH copy)

that was some seriously good info. thanks for posting.
intec component video adapter for ps2 - $9.xx
also bloody roar 3 was $19.xx. don't think i will keep it though, all the reviews i can find are saying that the voices are dubbed :(

No, nothing. In fact, I haven't seen any of the .hack series at any of the Toys'R'Us I swung by. Maybe you'll have more luck calling their store and checking.

Yeah, I tried to buy Devil May Cry on Sunday and it rang up at $19.99. Then, I remembered reading something about the barcode stickers on one of the earlier pages. I went back today and found a GH copy without the sticker and it rang up at $9.99.

My mom read an article in the business journal that TRU might go out of business. Personally I think its beacause wal mart is giving TRU a run for its money, causing TRU to go out of business. Maybe prices will drop furthur in the next couple months!

I really didn't wanna get sucked into the TRU sales, but I decided to take a look at a couple since I had time. One TRU had 50% off green tags signs everywhere. They also had like the motherlode of PN03. If anyone wants me to pick them up one for cash or trade PM me.

Another TRU I went to didnt have any of the signs but things were ringing up correctly. I just picked up Sphinx (GC) which they also had a lot of. I might go back and pick up Haven, Alter Echo, and Frequency for collections sake. Probably Frequency to go alongside Amplitude at least. Anyone recommend Virtual Tennis GBA? They had tons of that too.

I wouldn't get Haven... bleh!! But Virtua Tennis on the GBA is great, nowhere near the quality of Virtua Tennis on the DC, but, get it if it's cheap enough.

I'm so done with the TRU sale... there is nothing left that I want, and it's likely most of what I bought will be trade fodder...

Yea I passed on Haven so many times, its just the collector in me that wants to add it to my shelf. What about Alter Echo? I probably will get Virtual Tennis, its only $5 and I already passed on it during the CC Sale so might as well.

Oh and I forgot to add I dropped by CC since it was right next to TRU. They seem up to date on price drops but nothing spectacular. Though I managed to find a $9.99 RETROCON! This thing is pretty cool. I'm thinking of checking the other 2 CCs near here to find another.
Anyone recommend Virtual Tennis GBA? They had tons of that too.
Get it. It's not as good as Mario Tennis for the GBC was, but it's definitely worth the $5.

While I'm here...is there any chance that someone would know a Michigan-area store that has Pokémon Pinball for the GBA sitting around? I love pinball games and I've been trying to find it for a lower price...but I have yet to see it anywhere.

Yes. I went through the whole transaction (and ended up buying SSX3 - I know, I'll probably return it....) and they all came out full price. Other than a green sticker, is there a way to tell from looking at a game that its 50% off?

I went to my TRU and tried to get one of the those PS2 bundles for half off (they had 2 in stock) but it didn't ring up for $115!! :x And yes, the clerk rang it up as a transaction because he had to type in the serial number and stuff.

the first post in this thread cites conflicting reports for those?

"The TRU games at my store aren't good at all."
this sale has been RUNNING SINCE AUGUST 13th? they might have had some good games, but they are gone?

Any CAG's out there able to "snag" a copy of .hack part 3 for me from the TRU sale? Still want to get this game. Can anyone help a fellow gamer out? :p

All,

Just got back from a run to the Toys R Us in Towson MD.

The GC stuff is pretty much cleared out except for lots of Eternal Darkness, Haunted Mansion, P.N.03, and a few others.

The PS2 + Xbox selection is still plentiful. I picked up:

Prince of Persia xbox
Links 2004 xbox
Morrowmind GOTY xbox
Otogi xbox
Panzer Dragood Orta xbox
MGS Substance Xbox
Paper Mario N64
Arc the Lad Collection PS1
Blinx Xbox
Typing of the Dead DC

They still have everything, even a lot of the rare things people here are looking for. I would've bought more but my wife was with me and was irritated enough.

I just got back from TRU and picked up a few games. Here are the prices for the N64 games I picked up that weren't on the list:

Quake II N64 $4.96
Turok II N64 $2.45

If you need a scan of the receipt for proof I can get it. There are no more Quake II's but they still had a ton of Turok II and Resident Evil II. Amazing that Turok II is still there at that low of a price.

Forgot to add that Yu Yu Hakusho for GBA is not 50% off. Its still $19.99.

I'm guessing they're unable to, since there was no response to the first 2-3 times you asked this...

my local TRU rep said that she was still pulling lots of old games from the back and to check back occansionally. I was there last week, but this week they had about 100 more N64 games (nope no Paper Mario) and I finally got Fatal Frame for the X-Box :)
