I just got back from my local CC in Canton, OH. Here, at least, they had just put games into a bin and they're all $4.99.
I picked up(all PS2):

Roadkill
Rygar
WRC World Rally Championship
ESPN NHL Hockey

I also saw:
PS2
Bloodrayne
Smash Court Tennis: Pro Tournament

Secret Weapons over Normandy
Simpsons: Skateboarding
GGX
GGX2
Capcom vs SNK 2
Marvel vs Capcom 2

There were a few sports games for each system, but I couldn't remember the years. I wasn't exactly looking for Xbox or GC, but those are what I remember. I'll add more if I think of them. This a great deal, check your CC, I'm not sure if this is nationwide, but I hope so.

DaPhatty Edit - I've unstickied this thread since the list at the front of the page was outdated. The current list is posted here.

Please continue the discussions there.
Wario64, if you really bought all those games at $4.99, you deserve a MAJOR ass-whooping.
I don't think the pic is his....

I couldn't resist going back, so I ended up snagging Megaman X7 and Super Bust a Move 2,

From where I left the $5 games this morning, they still haven't moved, so I'm thinking that I'm the only CAG in Wichita Falls. Good thing for me!
Circuit City definately needs to put a limit on these sales. This is getting ridiculous
There is a simple built-in limit. When the stock is gone it's over.

All I could get was the grand theft auto: collector's edition for PSone. There was a whole bin of crap games. Mostly old sports titles, but I can't remember any. Might wanna update the list with GTA:Collector's Edition added.

Okay, I think we can officially vote this sale the best one of the year. This has to be an act of God blessing us for all the years we had to pay too much for games.

So we fail on Bomberman, score on Spyhunter (and Pikmin!) and proceed to talk to the clerks as we check out. Seems -that- guy, Chaoz perhaps, was BRAGGING about how in January he had loaded up on cheap titles in a similiar fashion, "returned" them at Best Buy for gift cards (policy?) and BOUGHT A PLASMA TV WITH THE GIFT CARDS. Um... WTF? You're denying true gamers good values to commit fraud and buy a plasma tv? YOU'RE AWESOME!
Sorry but this part sound like utter BS to me. Best Buy policy is very clear on requiring receipts. They may make an exception once in a while for an exchange but think about how many games he'd need to exchange to do this. Best case is $50 per game to get a TV of a sort that starts at $2500 (the Daewoo cheapie, most are a good bit higher) so you're looking at a minimum of 50 exchanges. There is no way in hell this guy would pull that off without the corporate offices going berserk. These transactions require ID and the software automatically looks for excessive transactions of this sort.

It used to be a lot easier but *some* people abused exchange policies to the breaking point. (Someday I'll tell the story of how I turned one copy of Sonic Spinball, a badly designed rebate, and a bunch of bulk packages of Life Savers into $1000.)

I check my local CC today just to see if anything was left. I figured it would all have been cleared out. They didn't even have a bin for any of the games. No sign of any sale at all.
Uh, that pic isn't mine. Someone wanted the pic that chaoz posted
That's good. When I first saw it, I though it was fake. How could anyone possibly get that many games?
I'm one lucky bastard.

I didn't find out about this till last night at about closing time. I figured after the weekend I'd find nothing today.

Instead over four stores I found 25 games for me and for gifts. I already had the big ones, Viewtiful Joe, Disagea, DMC 2, etc and good thing because I saw none of those.

On the other hand I found plenty of awesome deals and got pretty much everything I wanted. I'd list them but you guys already have seen them listed.

The moral: Don't give up. Keep looking.

Oh one problem I ran into. I went to four store and the first 3 were all honoring the deal no problem. Then the fourth had big signs that the 4.99 prices were an error and they would not honor them, regardless of the fact that they were ringing up 4.99

So I bought them and got a PA at another location.
Werd.

Anyone else's stores invoke this rule? They were manually changing the prices to the stickered values. :(

Im in West Virginia, havent seen any posts from here yet. Going in the morning with my friends list of targets. Anyone know when CC opens? Also let me know if you live in the Charleston/Huntington area and have checked the nearby stores yet.
Someday I'll tell the story of how I turned one copy of Sonic Spinball, a badly designed rebate, and a bunch of bulk packages of Life Savers into $1000.
WOW.......... Tell it! Tell it!!! It sounds really interesting. My mind will be in knots untill you tell me how you did this.

Well, some dude post in another forum posted that he got 133 games and getting ready for ebay. He even mention CC employee giving him BS.

If you're saying what I think you are... the games in the sale shouldn't be in bins, though a few I found were in bins, the 4.99 games are on the shelves with their original price tag, they just ring up at a lower price of 4.99.

However, if you already knew that: I am sorry.

Best sale of the year?!?! And I've been on vacation during it?!?!

damn.

Nothing good left in Pasadena, CA store. I picked up: My Street, TimeSplitters (first one, is this any good?), and Wolfverine's revenge.

Hey everyone thanks for all the info on the $4.99 posts! I hit up five CCs today and picked up a lot of games. I ended up talking to an employee in one of the CT CCs and he told me a couple of interesting facts. First that CC isn't stopping the $5 games anytime soon, in fact the prices will remain $5. On top of that he said that CCs will be getting random re-shipments of the $5 games throughout the week. So for you guys getting on the deal a little late there is still hope.

Here's what I got these games are up for trade, just send a message to me.

GBA
Jet Grind Radio
Mega Man and Bass
Phantasy Star Collection
Sword of Mana

PS2
Alien vs. Predator
Clock Tower 3
Chaos Legion
Dark Cloud 2
Frequency
Haunted Mansion
Robin Hood Defender of the Crown
Secret Weapons over Normandy

Xbox
Haunted Mansion
Voodoo Vince

GCN
Bloodrayne
PN 05
Resident Evil Code Veronica X

Keep the good deals coming!

ppl who are looking for stuff....feel free to check out my tradelist for stuff that i have and stuff that i can get......i can get a lot of stuff because ppl around me are apparantly crazy and dont care that much about this deal

Sword of Mana is NOT 4.99, I repeat NOT.

That deal you're talking about is Game Rush in Blockbuster, and no, that deal is over: the "every GBA game gets 10 dollars or more" deal, that is.
Virtua Fighter 4 and sonic advance 2 didnt ring up 4.99 at CC in pittsburghh Pa
maybe it was VF evolution i saw the original but didnt pick it up!!!
i got some game even dreamcast stuff
but its surprising how many employees were picking up and hidding games for themselves. i dont blame them though.

Helped clear out Paramus, NJ CC. Picked up Chu Chu Rocket (GBA), Dragon's Lair 3D, Oddworld: Munch, Mojo, Roadkill, and Metal Gear 2 Substance (all XB).

I forgot the Nice CAGer from Circuit City,Palisades Mall (his CAG name was with an r something from Yonkers or someting) he gave me his extra copy of Lunar Legends. Again thanks again man and hopefully we see each other again on other CAG meetings :)

All stores in the Middle TN area are clear. Nothing left. Picked up Syberia tonight for XBox. I saw an employee had MotoGP2.. I wanted it, that was one I came for, but you know what? She only had one copy, and she worked there, so that automatically makes it okay, plus everyone at that store was cool as hell, so i'm totally fine with it. I'll get it eventually.

They also told me that they would NOT be restocked on $4.99 games.

Nope, it's unfortunately true, unless the do-er was lying - What I failed to mention the first time is that he told them he spent around $300 at each Circuit City on cheap games and returned them in January. Best Buy was not requiring receipts due to Christmas returns when you often don't have receipts. And that's the trick apparently. If it's one thing this guy had from the 2 times I saw him, it was determination... there was no gaming motive, that's for sure.

Quick check: Monster Rancher 3 and Wario World are $4.99 titles? I checked both, and Monster Rancher 3 rang up at $19.99 and Wario World rang up at $29.99. -_-

Was anyone able to get these games for $4.99? Thanks.

Monster Rancher 3 is ringing up $19.99 for a lot of people. I don't think Wario World was ever part of the CC sale. It was $5.00 at Best Buy when they had a $5 sale.

I know that at my CC they had just one copy of it and i picked it up and it rang as 4.99 otherwise i would not have gotten it. It might be though YMMV. Pretty sure it is. sorry if it wasn't at your store. :(

I've edited this post just so you know, earlier it said "Pretty sure it isn't" was not supposed to.

Sorry for the miscommunication.

Boktai is a lot of fun. I opened one of my two copies (neither is f/t, f/s!!) today and started to play it. I almost forgot that I was melting in front of the sun. I would suggest getting it just to play.

yea its really good
I was just at the CC in San Jose, CA off Almaden. They seemed to have a few games on sale, but then one of the CC employees came up to me and asked me if I was there for the 4.99 sale. I said yeah, then the guy told me that that CC won't honor the 4.99 price until the actual sale, which was Sunday. Sux.
Hey when did you go to that store? I was there on Sunday at 10 am when they opened. I just asked one of the girl's who knew nothing. The game rang up for $4.99, she looked at the sticker which showed up $49.99 and she was confused. I didn't say anything about the deal. I tried to just seem like it was normal. So when did you go to that store?

And what systems/games were you looking for?

I think that calling this sale the deal of the year is selling it far short. I would be confident in saying this was the best Cheap Ass deal at the very least since the crazy early days of internet shopping (with free DVDS, games, you name it) if not the best deal....EVER.
