Awesome, I wake up seconds before the update, load EBgames.com and it started updating! Woo! I grabbed Ogre Battle 64 from my local store last ngiht finally. Cost me $11 due to some store credit from a return.

Was there just a second update?

I was looking at GBA games from low to high and the cheapest (after update) was Zapper . . . I saw nothing anywhere today . . . its been a poor week.

Then I went back to GBA and Iridion and Konami Arcade were there . . . they weren't before!

I,ve noticed this a couple of times. For example yesterday, immediatly after the update I looked for Paper Mario used for GC and it was not there. I then looked about 10 minutes later and there it was.

Good Morning.

I know this has nothing to do with the morning update, but yesterday I was browsing the Gamestop website and I noticed that a store 30 miles from me had a copy of Suikoden II in stock. I called the store and when I asked if they had it, the person I talked to said no immediately after I asked. Literally. I asked, he thought about it of 1 second and said no they don't. I asked if he wouldn't mind at least checking the store computer, he said he didn't have to. He knows everything they have in stock. OK fine. Now here comes the funny part . I call again around lunch time and I get a different person, and I ask if they have it. This person checks and says, yes in fact strangely enough I have it right in front of me but it says hold for Asst. Manager and then I get put on hold. When they come back, it is the first guy I talked to this morning. So I asked him why they didn't have it this morning when I called first thing and he said that he must have not known. So I say, but when I asked you to check the computer you said that you didn't have to. And he says, "I usually don't." At this, I asked to talk to the manager and he says "I am the Asst. Manager"... So I ask him, so you are holding the game for yourself? "Yeah, that's right, thanks for calling". And he hangs up. WTF?!?

So the moral of the story, DO NOT CALL ahead to see if something is in stock.

Yeah not related Number83

You should hear some of my weird eb and gs stories. It's 50/50 50% of the employees are awesome, the rest very often suck terribly (just my experience!)

I would blow a fuse. Get the District Manager on the phone. Usually they will not put up with that sort of thing. And, you may get yourself a gift card out of it. If that does not work, call corporate. After that call the Better Business Bureau or a "call for action" type group. (Tell each GS rep what you are doing. At some point they should baack off and give you some love.)

I did this with FYE - actually called up the DM's home. :) When that did not work I called up Nintendo and BBB. :) Made me feel better. hehe

You're kidding right? Tell me who works retail and doesn't put stuff on hold for themselves.

Yes people do put things on hold. But not AFTER a customer inquires about it. The lying and hanging up will be what DM's will hate. Especially if you say that you are not shopping there again.

Remember - they are ONLY concerned about the bottom line.
Another thing, get names. It TERRIFIES them.

That was going to be my next question, but I didn't get a chance to ask. Not that I would have called a DM or corporate or anything. If just to scare them into thinking about it next time. I wouldn't want anyone to lose thier job, even if they are a prick.

I just wanted to give you an FYI, in case you are planning on calling ahead. It might be worth the drive just to go see for yourself. And it make me wonder where the Gamestop/EBGames merger is heading. I'm not liking the signs it pointing to.

Thanks for listening.
