I never hoard games. I always only pick up 1. MvC2 is the rare exception, because NO ONE on this site ever seems to talk about it. There were almost 40 or so in stock when I picked up my 4 copies. There is no risk involved. I picked up 8 two months ago during the last Buy3Get1Free dealat night time (so I guess no one picked them up during the day), and have sold Every single one of them and turned up a profit of $150.00. There is no failure involved. Again, I know what the super rare games are and I am very curtious about what to buy and what not to buy. I am also a collector and hate hoarders for games like Suikoden ii, but for a game that is in virutually every video game store, I figure it's ok to pick up a few.

So the games sell for Buy it Now! on ebay for 65.00 a piece really quick (mine last night sold for that much in 3 minutes!), and I will make (after shipping and paypal + ebay fees) around 65.00 per game.

65.00-40.00 = 25.00 per game

4 games = 100.00 profit.

I saved all the money that I posted earlier because I went ahead and got some other games as well. I only picked up 4 of the MvC2, I am not going to steal that many of them! 4 is not that much when there was 10x that amount in stock!!!!!

The game is STILL in stock, fyi.
No one get mad, but I took advantage of the BUY3GET1 and ordered a few of MvC 2, for the PS2. They fetch for a ton on ebay! Just got them for an average of 37.00 a piece.
They are still in stock, so it's all good.
I couldn't care less about fighting games and don't know where I fall in the great "hoarding" debates, but I do wonder why you even posted about this purchase! When you begin a post with "No one get mad, but...", that's the time to hit delete and walk away. Don't tempt people to yell at you.
nothing wrong with hoarding to make a profit........ How do you think I fund my gaming?
According to previous posts by you in this thread, stealing and selling games
How about you just get a damn job and pay for games like everyone else instead of resorting to hoarding/theivery?

You're right, deleted the "no one get mad" because it's stupid and people shouldn't get mad. Thanks!

However, going through the posts of this thread, I see several people buying 2 of a certain game or even 3 to sell one to pay for the other one. Not sure where the difference is. I'm sure half the people here do it. Not sure why I am explaining anything, because you guys all have your own view on the debate of"hoarding."

You're right .......I should get a job at ShopKo
You're right .......I should get a job at ShopKo
ha, what's shopko?

And I have a job (am there now) but ebay is also more of a hobby then anything. I don't like to spend money on games (feel like I need to save for a house even if I just turned 20 and am in college). So, my goal is getting an Xbox 360. The only way I will allow myself to get that is to have a video game fund that I can make only by ways of ebay. So if I make 100.00 profit, the original amount that I spent on the games will go back into the bank account and the 100.00 will go towards the system.
Take this as a warning. This game is horrible. I played it for like 5 minutes and traded it away.
I was thinking about it... but I have Mario Golf for "fun" golf and Tiger Woods 05 on PC for "real golf." So I think I'm covered. And even my fiancee likes Mario Golf.

Ebgames is the worst for old used games. I've got a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 coming my way, but I bought from Estarland.com. At least there, you know if the copy you're buying is complete or disc only and you pay accordingly. Even though it was complete I only paid $35 for it. I picked up a complete Soul Calibur last week for $15. Finally got it last night and it might as well have been mint. There may be 2 hairline scratches on the whole disc and not a single crack on the case. The more games you buy from EB, they higher prices will stay.

It says on the MvC2 page that it includes boxes and instructions.

1) Current gen stuff from EB is guaranteed complete.
2) I'm not sure why you're complaining about high prices. Sure, someone might beat them by a few bucks on a game here and there (which is the case with ANY store), but in general, they're the best. Just compare a few games between them and Gamestop. You'll see what I mean.

I talk about my find of this game at a pawn shop for 15 bucks all the time (complete and mint).. but "investing" in video games are wrong and you never know when the ebay market will just bottom out on something like this. but it does go out of stock and takes a while for it to come back (espeically the XB and PS2 versions) so instead of hoarding them you should have left them for someone who will actually want to play the game buying 1-2 for you and a friend is alright but buying 4 solely for profit is wrong.. and considering all the effort it took you it probably wasn't even worth the effort.

wow if there was 40 in stock whos the one who hogged the other 39.. still just cause one sells for 65 dont mean they will again. There are a few that closed last night for under 50. and still its not really a 25 per game profit after you add ebay fees and paypal fees. maybe 15-18 per.

Yeah, it has a 69 from metacritic games so I knew that it's probably average at best. For $5.00 shipped I figured I'd give it a shot. Golf is the only sport I play in video game format and I've never found one I didn't get some enjoyment out of (except megarobot golf for the SNES - yikes that game was shit!).

Ebgames is the cheapest, all you have to do is compare www.gamestop.com with www.ebgames.com and you will see what i mean, especially check the n64 prices on gamestop.com they are absolutly outrageous!!!!

I am really offended by gamestops high prices so i no longer shop there (crappy store anyways, and way more pushy than ebgames, gamestop tries to shove preorders down my throat!), i think that ebgames prices dictate the market price better than any other site, so that is the site i use when i judge what a game is worth. If someone is selling it for more than what ebgames.com/ebgames b&m is selling it for, then its too much, cause i can just wait for it to come in stock at either the b&m store or just watch the website carefully.

Some games are over 50% off the gamestop price just by shopping at ebgames, for example pokemon stadium 2 goes for 7.99 at the b&m store and i saw pokemon stadium 2 for 19.99 at gamestop b&m store. Add to that the cag15 and saver codes and you have some really CAG's with ebgames.com!!!!!

Although ebgames prices in the store seem to be a little less on some games, sometimes its dead accurate with the website, for example i picked up robotron 64 for the n64 for 1.99 at the b&m store, it was 4.99 or 5.99 on the website. You can also get buy 2 get one free's or 50% off classic games (nes, genesis, snes) at the b&m stores, and i dont know if they offer that on the website with older systems.
How much does Wizardry cost at EBGames.com? I wish there was a way to check that kind of info even when the game is out of stock.

If somebody could let me know what it costs at EB it would really help me out. Thanks.
Sorry for the double post, but you can call an ebgames store and ask them to run a search on the game, if it doesnt come up, ask them to run a district search, if it comes up in the district search you can ask how much it will cost. There is a chance that it might not come up in the district search but it probably would. If they wont give you the information on the phone just go into the store and ask them to run a district search on the game. That would give you the price for the b&m store, it might vary slightly from the website.

The sequel showed significant improvement all-around (graphics, control, overall length, etc.). It's almost hard to believe the series began with this sub-par golf outing. Unfortunately, it looks like the first golf title is the only game in the Outlaw series to be released on Gamecube.

Yeah, its tough to profit unless you can do better than EB's prices, its really not worth the effort otherwise. If someone wants to try anyway, go ahead, you're not making much.

The one aspect that comes into play here is that if you are using EB credit (which you got by trading in clearance games) you can also come out ahead.

I bought 3 copies of GTASA to sell on ebay (partly just to see if it would work) . . . I got them for $50 each (although I should get 2 $10 vouchers) . . . spending $125 in credit and a $25 instore voucher . . . They sold for $70 each BIN with inflated shipping . . . So I added $200 to our paypal account.

Yes, I spent money to make this money but I'm far ahead and the influx of some cash gets my wife off my back.

And I didn't have to deny my "brothers" here at CAG to do it.

That's the only problem I have with hoarding of rare games . . . if you found out about the deal from CAG and your behavior is very selfish then it is more problematic.

I've had good luck with used games with EB so far... all my games come complete and are in good condition... I got MVC2 and Suikoden III a couple months ago and they came in great condition.

But I guess it's YMMV and the draw of the luck when it comes to used stuff.

Have no idea. 4 is the amount I bought. And I make $25.00 profit per game. I use UPS ground shipping calculated and it calculates $7-10.00 shipping and I have a deal with them that I get $3.00 shipping. Since it's calculated, it's not overpricing, but I am not sure how it is so expensive. So the extra $4-6 covers my ebay and paypal fees.

And my games shipped today and will arrive tomorrow probably. I'll keep you updated on the amount of money I make. I'm not worried. If they don't sell, I will return, but that won't happen.

If you're just trying to convert EB credit to cash, then making enough of a profit to make it worth your time isn't part of the equation. Equal value or better after fees is more than good enough for that. Could still do better with a little patience, though.

yea i was going to return all my bridgidine i got off them for 25 each, but i dumped them on ebay for 25 + shipping each. I might not made any money off them but i turned credit into cash

I'm not in on the morning update for profit. As I said picking up a few GTAs and selling them to fools on ebay gives me cover with my wife for other purchases. Yes, with "patience" people can make big turnovers on the EB morning update . . . but I'm not interested.

On a more positive note, I had a pleasant surprise when an EB order arrived today--a copy of Rayman Advance ($6ac, not sure why I want it) came as new with box and instructions. This is the second (out of about 10) GBA game that I got this way. It is a new copy without the shrink wrap but with the cart in a little baggy and all.

Just got home and recieved Confidential Mission, Mint Conditon disc only, and Death Crimson, Complete and Mint. Hopefully a good update tomorrow morning?

I'm curious how big you mean. I know for the time invested that it would be no where near my salary worked out to an hourly rate (and trust me, I'm not bragging!). I think there is just not enough volume. Even if one can buy loads of underpriced games, they don't get sucked away on ebay in no time.

I do the ebay thing for fun. I usually buy 2 copies of the cheaper used games I want and pick the best one for me. I clean-up both copies (replace the case if neccessary) and sell the second on e-bay. I've also done a few new items from various store clearances. It actually reminds me of the bazaar in Everquest if anyone has ever played that game :)

My thoughts are that the volume is just not there (at least part-time). I'd be better off working part-time on the weekends at an Ebgames or gamestop and snagging a discount hehe

I do enjoy it for fun, but the money sucks for the time invested (compared to avg american salary in New Jersey anyway).

I also don't feel bad for making a tiny bit of cash on e-bay because I've paid over the 'cheap' price for plenty of games. It all works out (usually).

darnit, my stuff just arrived at home and I asked my mom to inspect my games. Disc only Tactics Ogre and disc only Super Puzzle Fighter 2.

I got Super Puzzle Fighters 2 with manual and case, beautiful, only complete one in the last 5 recieved, but a nice one. IT DOES HAPPEN (on occasion).

I think there's something at EB who's against me :whistle2:(

100% of the PS1 games I've ordered off of EB have come disc only.

Got my Dreamcast in today. Looks like everything is in good condition.

...now I just have to wait for my "Typing of the Dead" to come in so I can see if it actually works...

...and my Dreamcast keyboard from ebay...

...sigh...
hah, yeah, the PS1 collection is about half the size it used to be
i wonder why that is. i hope that dont mean the same thing with the snes. meaning all the good stuff is long gone and we wont be seeing anything good in again for a long long time
