Thanks, picked it up though I have no idea why. Only reason I went was for the cover, which I probably won't receive with the game heh. But for $1.61 shipped after tax .. why not.
It's a good game, really overlooked. The GBA sequal is also amazing.

One thing, though...that's not the actual cover, it's a mock up.

The real cover looks like this, but with the US cover template:
Check your local EB, they have a few DC keyboards at mine for $1.49.
Any standard PC keyboard witha PS/2 interface will work? If the computer u use to view CAG with does not have a USB keyboard, then u already have all the hardware you need to play this game.

Umm, what? No?

The Dreamcast doesn't have any PS/2 ports, silly.
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/227922.asp

1 Left, $49.99 b/c. I would get it, but I want the PS2 version.
Bought one of these at CC for $5 . . . people had mentioned it in the early CC sale thread . . . I knew nothing about it but got one for trade. Then I checked it on fleabay and saw what it was going for. Bastard that I am . . . sold if for over $60 . . . it paid for 10 of the games that I kept.

This site makes you buy games you wouldn't ordinarily buy. I picked up Alien Hominid for the gamecube the other day just because people here mentioned how good it is. I haven't played it yet but I know for sure I would have never have picked up a game like that for myself.

Gitaroo Man is another one... I don't have a PS2 but I'm looking to pick it up for the day that I do get one so I can see what all the fuss is about. I mean seriously, how many people would want Gitaroo Man if it hadn't been mentioned so much on this site?

You're such a bastard...

hehe, I know a lot of people here would have done the same thing.

Man, I WISH people wouldn't talk about Gitaroo Man on this site, so that I'd have a better chance at grabbing it myself! I'm a huge rhythm game fan, as well as a fan of bizarre and whacked-out Japanese style games. (For example, I was actually interested in Mad Maestro before it hit ridiculous levels of cheapness, and before I was even a CAGger and so well-informed -- thought I snagged a huge deal when it fell to $7 at TRU.) Gitaroo Man is a match made in heaven for me...and you're all keeping me from it!!

But then, ebay's prices are outrageous, and I wouldn't know to hunt EB if it wasn't for CAG...so I suppose I can let you all live...

It's a Dreamcast game, you would need a Dreamcast keyboard. Last time I checked *quickly checks*, yep the DC does not have a PS/2 slot.

That's the thing about this thread... I'm sure some people wouldn't even be looking for it (regardless of whether you want it for value or for play) if others didn't post that they had seen it in stock practically everyday. I'm thinking you more wish people wouldn't talk about it so you wouldn't know you're missing out on :) It's going to disappear within seconds of the update regardless of whether or not someone talks about it.

And I'm with you on being "a huge rhythm game fan, as well as a fan of bizarre and whacked-out Japanese style games". Personally, I wish there was more stuff like Parappa and Bust-A-Groove (which Gitaroo Man is definitely like) and less of the DDR stuff.

And my Rez order from two days ago became not-cancellable yesterday. I guess that may be a good sign? I hope I hope I hope...

Edited to add: I reread what you said, and I think I misunderstood what you said originally. I thought you meant people shouldn't post about it on this thread so people would know to look for it, but now I see I think you meant people posting about it in general about it being rare (hence attracting hoarders and resellers), right? My bad... cuz I'd probably agree with you on that.

Where did you place an order an order for Rez? I'm a patient guy and do not mind waiting rather than paying $100+ for it on Ebay =0

I know what you mean. I bought Klonoa 2 cause of this very thread. I personally would've never even have heard of the game before I came to this site. I'm glad I got Klonoa 2 .. I'm digging it. Its a fun game w/ some crazy characters, levels, and a crazy story.

? I think you might want read through this thread to get the dynamics of EB morning update. I don't think you'll have much luck calling them, if slidecage's experiences show anything.

Gitaroo man got VERY high review scores like everywhere.. so if you base your ideas off of what the major online video game mags say about it then they said it was a great game.. and rythem games in the united states have ALWAYS been saught after by fans here as we don't get that many and the do we get are always very excellent.
has anyone ever seen Gunstar Heroes for Sega Genesis come in stock?

anyone have a link?

thanks
I've been looking and found nothing. It was availible a few weeks back.

You're right, but it's really hard to find so after searching for it for a couple of weeks to no avail, I would have just given up and forgotten about it.

Man this thread is heating up my credit card. I'm starting to think that this site is just a front for EBGames ; ) I wish I wouldn't have found this place. Thanks to you guys I am now the proud owner of about $180 in pre-played games over the last three days. I even got an edge card and started a damn spreadsheet : )

Anyway here is what I got:
Zone of the Enders, Klonoa 2, Wild Arms 2, Dragon Warrior VII, Vampire Night w/GunCon2, Tobal No.1, SaGa Frontier, ICO, Parasite Eve II, Wild Arms 3, Dark Cloud 2, Evil Zone, Gekido, Sol Divide, Shadow Hearts Covenant

Man it hurts... I know they aren't all hard to find but thats what happens when you start shopping :)

Damn you EBGames 25% off and free shipping... bah I say.

Are you... me? Pretty much everything you typed applies directly to me, right down to the edge card acquisition and spreadsheet creation. However, my credit card bill is approaching $400 rather than $200, which hurts so bad given Gamestop is having my favorite 'coupon of the day' today =(

Right, and the game he was asking about was Rez... I remember your post about calling them about it and how you couldn't get anywhere.

btw, have you gotten any phone backorders? Also, when they put you on the backorder over the phone, does it show in your orders online?

nothing yet. you cant check the orders online they said you will either one day get a shipping notice or a email saying your order was cancelled there is no way to check it online

Well the prices were pretty much the same as ebay prices but shipping at $4-$7 per game kills the deal. That is around $70 shipping for the games I ordered. At least this way I don't pay shipping and I can return them easily if need be. I do pay tax but it is about half of the shipping charges on ebay, and its easier to place my order. Anyway I have had good luck with EB so far.

I just use my Visa debit card. No bill makes me a happy boy.

How come after i go to checkout, with The Typing of the Dead in my cart and I use all 3 codes for free shipping and the 25% off, but when i go to the checkout all the codes are gone....sry its a noob question but i really dont know

When Super Ghouls & Ghosts (SNES, not GBA) is in, how much is it usually priced? I don't think I've seen it on the site in a few days at the very least.

Five dolla, I believe.

Grandia II (the PS2 version) seems to be another game that goes in and out of stock a lot.

But looking at this thread is making me regret that day when EBGames and GS fully merges... no more dailiy stock updates on the website and goodbye to 26% off and free shipping.

Wow, my Rez order shipped! If it's anywhere near the condition of the other PS2 games I've gotten from them, I think I'm done with EB morning updates for the time being :) Good thing, too... the wallet's really hurting. I wonder how long this hard-to-find game streak on the site is going to last.

So I guess if you have a cancellable order that becomes not-cancellable, your order will probably ship the next day or two?

The only benefit that will come of this is that I won't be tempted to spend as much money.

But until that day comes, may as well take advantage of it while we can :)

My Dreamcast ($20 free shipping) arrived today (ordered last Thurs).

Very nice . . . works . . . controller good. The AV hookup is third party (new in a plastic bag) . . . but it seems good.

Unfortunately, I have few games . . . Qbert (got free with some other stuff), Gundam Side Story from Gamecrazy $5 and Typing of the dead (Free from TRU) . . . need a keyboard.

Now that I know the system works, I ordered a VMU, Sonic Adventure, a 3rd party memory card, and a controller extension cord . . . all for $10 shipped ac . . .

Anyone have any suggestions for games??? From the standard EB $5 fare?

If you're looking in the 5 dollar range, i'd personally recommend:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/175942.asp
4.99 b/c

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/164829.asp
4.99 b/c

If you want to spend a bit more, some good things to keep an eye out for include:

Grandia 2
Skies of Arcadia
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Soul Calibur
Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2

Also Gunbird 2 and Mars Matrix are really excellent shmups if you have any interest in arcade style shooting games.

In addition to the games mentioned, I'd highly recommend:

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/183145.asp

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/177426.asp

The first game is not exactly a fighting game or a wrestling game. Fighters of varying styles duke it out by grappling, applying submission holds, reversals, etc. You might get your opponent down and mount him to punch him in the face only for him to counter and get you in an arm lock. It's realistic and doesn't have any over-the-top moves.

Maken X is a first-person hack-and-slasher developed by Atlus. You can brainjack enemies to get access to new abilities. The game could be frustrating at times because the enemies can be hard to see and the controls needs some improvement, but the game is fast, running at a full 60fps.

I'd also recommend the NBA and NFL 2K line if you're into sports at all, but you could find them for cheaper elsewhere.

I got my copy of Rez today. The good part is that the game itself is in very good condition. The downside is that it's an ex-rental copy. The back of the cover insert has a couple of rental stickers on it (it looks like they redid their inventory system at one point, and stuck a barcode over an older sticker), and the manual has a sticker on the front and a hole punched through it.

It's not perfect, but the game's what I'm mainly concerned with, and the condition there is good.

The one downside to this thread is that it is really making me want to wake up at 7 to check. I'd love to snag Cannon Spike or Garou for Dreamcast.
Excellent. I see someone got that copy of Cursed.

Off topic, does anyone ever see the Guncon for PS2 become available?
I have never seen one (I am assuming you mean a GunCon2, as the GunCon was for PSX), by itself on the site, but I have never really looked. Mostly I see bundles. If you don't want to buy a bundle, I have more GunCon2-s than I know what to do with. I'm looking over your trade list now.

I've woken up at 4 AM before...a few days of doing that though killed me and I decided it wasn't worth it, hehe.
