The clowns at my local Gamestop are the same way. There's been a copy of Brigandine listed as in stock for weeks now but they won't even look for it when I ask them - they just tell me that the website is never right and ask if I've picked up Madden 06 yet. So far the site has been fairly accurate for me - several times I've found a game (1-3 copies) through the online search and gone to pick it up, and when I check the search again afterwards it's no longer listed.

It's probably being saved for one of the employees, which means you'll never see it. The website in general is very accurate.

I tend to agree with you, although I'd have guessed that one of them would have grabbed it already. The last time I went and checked was almost a month ago, and at that point it had been listed there for a couple of weeks already. The site still lists it as in stock.

This is just one of the reasons I generally avoid shopping at Gamestop (and I know other people here have expressed the same sentiments); usually I only go in if there's a particular game in stock that I'm looking for. But at least they're plentiful here in Atlanta - I've got 6 or 7 of them within a 20 minute drive from either my apartment or the office.

I can attest to the greatness of this game. I am a big rally fan, and this is my favorite rally game (even better than RalliSport on Xbox, IMO). They did an excellent job getting down engine and track sounds (gravel, etc.), the navigator is clear and not annoying, and the tracks are very well designed (lots of divits and elevation changes), plus the game follows the WRC circuit, so each set of races (about 70 or so in total) takes place in a different country throughout the year. Damage is the only questionable part of this game, as sometimes it seems you can really tear the crap out of your car but sustain very little performance damage, while other times a hard guardrail swipe will throw out your alignment.

For car freaks, there is very little tuning (just pick tire type, etc.), but the rally experience is all there.

I just picked up Colin McRae 4 (via CAG), so my opinions may change, but right now, I consider WRC to be the best US-released rally racer out there. Too bad the other games in this series only came out in the UK (where they appreciate the finer sports such as rally and soccer). I bought WRC for full price on the day of release and never regretted it. For $4, every self-repecting rally fan must own it.

Can someone give me a quick review of this? I heard that there were no uppercuts or clinching in this game. I'm also a big fan of Fight Night Round 2; how does it compare to that?
 
Got a ton of stuff from EB today. For the most part, disc-only. But I did get:
Tales of Destiny 2: Front cover, discs, manual. Missing back-cover-card thing
Spice Girls (I ordered it as a cheap-ish filler that might be funny): Complete, which seriously makes me question people. I get a disc-only copy of Tales of Destiny, but Spice Girls comes complete?

And, the big one:
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure : Complete (game disc, soundtrack, manual, original case), in excellent condition

Also got Gitaroo Man in great condition, but it's PS2, so that's more or less to be expected

Nice with the Rhapsody. My girlfriend has it but missing the manual and has Family Video stickers on both disc. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about trying to get a complete copy.

You guys with stories about getting complete games makes me want to keep trying but I don't think its worth it. I'm watching ebay instead for the pricier ones. I might try for Rhapsody though.

i was happy just to get the soundtrack with Rhapsody. Man that would of rocked if it came complete or with case... I think eb hates me , everyone seems to be getting cases but I alwasys get Disc only.

i might of found a complete copy of Valk profile in chicago for 37 bucks i just hope its still there (dude says he will hold it for me )
 
Recieved Tactics Ogre and Ogre Battle for the PSX in the worst condition disk only I have ever seen. Blockbuster stickers that are covering the center part and are eroding. HAHAHA! I am sending them back and getting a full refund. I highly doubt I will be buying any more psx games unless Valkarie Profile or Rhapsody come in stock. EB's psx inventory sucks for me. I just don't have good luck I guess.

On a more happy note, I received Mega Man X3 yesterday, ONE day after I ordered the thing. It is in excellent condition. I know you wonder how can a SNES game not be in excellent conidition, but I have gotten DKC2 and another game with no cover on them!!!!!! They just had EB's writing. How can that happen? So 1 out of 3 games isn't too bad. Hopefully next week will be better.
 
Can anybody tell me why I can't seem to find Star Wars Battlefront (the first one) for the Xbox on EB's site? I want to get it pre-owned, but everytime I search "battlefront" or even "star wars" in the Xbox category, I get no Battlefront. I would just get it for PS2, but I'm getting the 2nd BF for Xbox, and I'm big on having the same series on the same console. Plus, the Xbox version supports more people on Live. Can anybody help me out?

It's not in stock. You might just have to wait for a morning update to get it. Gamestop has it under backorder. Maybe it's more rare than you think.

i got both of my Tactics ogre disc today and yesterday. Both were i would call Good to Mint shape. No scratches at all. Dont know if im going to keep them or not. I ordered Replacement Manuals and Inserts from Atlus for 5 each set. So i might just keep them... Get them complete and then redump 1 of them (im keeping one)

if anyone needs an OGREbattle Manual Let me know i got one of those coming as well.
 
still waiting for all my orders placed over a week ago, I'm getting excited lol, hopefully I'll get lucky and all my DC games will come complete

yea its very easy. you just need to write on a piece of paper what you want. the manuals run 3.00 each. the inserts run 2.00 each. There are a lot of games item that are sold out though.. It says ALLOW 2-3 week to get them, i just sent mine out last monday so i still got up to 2 weeks before i know if i get them or not.
 
I had an "pre-played" order backordered, one of 11, for a game which isn't rare, and then canceled by EBgames shortly thereafter. Anyone had this happen to them? Kind of bugs me.

Its not rare at all. Go to a B&M store and you can probably find about a million used or new copies.

I think it just depends. It can be found, though. I think a lot of people wanted it and were waiting for the cheaper price. I went to a local EB a few weeks ago and they were all sold out of preowned copies, so I picked up a new one.

eb has said when i called them. Last week they cancelled 90% of their backorders and have stopped taking backorders by phone.
 
I got myself a complete copy of Breath of Fire III (Disc looks like hell though) at the Gamestop about 20 miles away. I asked them about Lunar since the website has shown it in stock for like 2 weeks, the employee said it's being saved because "an employee is going to buy that one, yeah" in a nice friendly tone. fucker. I can see an employee buying it, but putting it behind the counter until they get around to buying it? That's lame.

I may end up buying BoFIII from Ebgames just to get a better condition disc...
 
is anyone interested in a disc only fatal fury mark of the wolves for DC? If so PM me... it's goin back in a few days if no one is interested :/

The games will begin to dissapear and a more updated list will pop up. You will know a few seconds in advance that the site is updating. THe easiest way for me to know is to watch the Playstation page. Suikoden is always in stock and when that dissapears, I know the site is updating.
 
^ You'll know the site is updating by watching how many games are in a section. I usually just watch the PSX RPG section, and when you see the numbers fluxuate you know the update is occuring. Updates are on Monday-Friday at or a little after 7 AM. I'm central time, so it's ~6 AM for me, so just check what your timezone is.

gamestops are starting to make me freaking sick. I have called 3 gamestops to get a game transfer just to hear on the other end the game never showed or they cant ship it. The freaking workers are taking my Games.

how was the case. IT seems everytime i get a double case for eb its junk and breaks as soon as you open it. i doubt you will se any of the games you want back in stock anymore at eb. i think they cleared out some of their wherehouses that is why some of those games popped up last month. I was shocked to get a DISC ONLY RHAPSODY for 25 shipped.

Cases are all great. I was surprised too. Too bad I can't say the same about my Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre.

how everyone was saying they got cases. I thought i was the only one who got disc only copies of Ogre battle and Tactics.
 
as we are all rare game hunters... i figure I should ask here:

the local gamestop has a mint complete DDR disney mix for $45.00 available. The game is seriously like new. Is this a good purchase? I like the DDR games, but I also don't mind turning a profit, or hooking someone else up once I'm done.

advice?
