You know, I just said that it would be a while before I went on a buying spree again.
So, two days is a while, right?

Managed to find Alisia Dragoon this morning, which I've been trying to find for a while. Also, a strange thing with Broken Sword. I had it in my cart, had it snagged, and then when I was browsing through the games, I saw it listed. I clicked on the page details, and got a screen showing it was out of stock, but I was able to add it to my cart anyway and check out. Weird. Don't know if I'll actually get it, but it was worth a shot.
That happened to me with Contra Force, MUSHA, and a few others. I ordered them anyway but I doubt I'll get them.

I don't get why these are such great deals. Most of these games you can pick up from Amazon, half.com. or eBay complete and in very good condition for the same price EB is charging, and EB doesn't even guarantee that the game is complete.

All current generation games are guaranteed complete and I doubt many of the rarer old games can be found cheap on those sites(ex. Musha, Pirates Gold!, Herzog Zwei, etc).
How are the used games from ebgames.com?? Is everything usually in good condition?
I picked up several titles two weeks ago and was surprised that EVERY disk was near MINT condition. I am very pleased with their service. They must disk doctor their disks.

1) Hard to find games for reasonable prices.
2) Free shipping.
3) 15-25% off.
4) The thrill of the hunt, and the agony of defeat.

Also, EB guarantees complete games for GC, XB, PS2, and NDS, which doesn't hurt...

All prices B/C.

BMX XXX (GC): $2.99
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/225454.asp

Gremlins Stripe vs. Gizmo (GBA): $7.99 (kinda rare)
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/233207.asp

Magic Pengel (PS2): $9.99
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/234034.asp

Tron Killer App (XB): $12.99
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/243136.asp

BTW, has anyone else noticed getting used GBA games complete lately. I ordered Hot Potato and Stripe vs. Gizmo last week, and both arrived complete yesterday. These were the first GBA games I've ordered in months, but back in the day I rarely got complete copies of used GBA games. Not only that, but the cartridges were still in their little baggies inside their boxes, which suggests they were actually new, or at least unplayed. So did I just get supremely lucky, or has this been typical of EB lately?

fuck! The one time I've ever been awake and online for the update, and I missed it b/c of a company meeting. And I've only been interested in Contra and Yoshi's Island and I missed Yoshi's Island. Doh doh doh doh

So I finally get to check these boards from work and find that there was, of course, a late update that I missed.

I was surprised Warriors of the Eternal Sun was still in stock (I grabbed the last copy!) I also managed to grab the last copies of Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (for the NES - his first video game!) and NES Wario's Woods. All the other good stuff I saw has already been posted.

I ordered Arc the Lad: Collection (as stated earlier). PS1 games are not gaurunteed complete, but I was wondering what is the rate that I may get a complete version? I am a collector and want this game complete. For the price, it was worth a shot, but if it isn't complete, can I just return it to a store or do I have to ship it back?

For many of us (at least me) purchases are being made with EB credit. My credit comes from at least a 100% gain from what I paid (a $5 game that gets $10) sometimes more.

So, when I bought Ghosthunter last week . . . the site says $17.99 (not a deal) but use the coupons and it is $14.18 shipped (with tax) . . . it came today complete and in very good shape.

But with EB credit my true cost was under $7 probably more like $5.

Plus if you're unhappy with an old-school games condition . . . you can return it instore.

I've gotten several gba games complete-down-to-the-baggie in the past month or so, including stripe vs. gizmo (must have some bizarrely complete stock for that one!). Lufia had a box, cardboard insert, baggie, misc. internal paperwork, but no instructions. Who loses just the instructions??

Unfortunately, my orders now frequently arrive in so-so padded envelopes, instead of the nifty side-folding boxes, which means the gba game boxes get beat up even more. but hey, boxes!

how did you pull this off?
how did you pull this off?
He does it as many of us do it, CC sale games, Target clearance games, he might've flipped some, TRU clearance games, etc. and then putting them into their occossional 2 for $10, etc. deals.
Argh Got Arc the Lad pulled from my cart. (Typed my Edge card wrong 3 times in a row...) Boooo

hehe
Matthew
make a text file will your edge card number and gift card number and pin (if you are using credit) and have it handy. Then its just a quick cut and paste and you're off the races.

You should be able to take it back to B&M...most people here do it all the time.

I've never tried and I know that back of the reciept you recieve in the package says you can't. But it's wrong I guess.

I was wondering if anyone put up a list of what games work with a trade in deal at EB. I plan on getting NCAA Football 06 by using a few of the Best Buy coupons.

I had no problem returning a box of damaged/rental/incomplete PSOne titles to an EB B&M. I'm pretty OCD, so I feel your pain. Luckily, this EB didn't have a pack of schmucks masquerading as employees, but I think that such a case is rare.

Good luck, you're able to do it. It's simply a matter of getting your lazy EB clerks to do it for you.

it says on the ebgames site that you can return it to b&m now.

Man I got lucky this morning. I'm never here for the update...but since it was late I just happened to be on the website while they were doing it! Didn't score anything "rare" just a bunch of cheap NES games to add to my growing collection (at 99 now--and really needed Mach Rider for my "black box" collection), a NEW N64 game (#5) and another PS1 game (going for the first 100 PS1 releases):

120054 1 $0.99 $0.99 PS Total Eclipse Turbo - Pre-Played
213959 1 $0.99 $0.99 N64 MONACO GRAND PRIX N64
194566 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO Journey To Silius - Pre-Played (all NES here down)
194601 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO Legacy Of The Wizard - Pre-Played
194624 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO Mach Rider - Pre-Played
194854 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO Solar Jetman - Pre-Played
195358 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO World Class Track - Pre-Played
195363 1 $0.99 $0.99 PO Wrath Black Manta - Pre-Played

Super lucky--I guess.

Yes, it takes some doing but I keep an eye on $5 (or less) games especially Target but also Best Buy, CC, a few from GS and Blockbuster.

If you get a feel for the exclusion list you can get good at it. Then there were the JamPaks that qualified (even just the extra $5 deal in Feb brought in $80 on .50 JPs) The penny copies of Midway Arcade Treasures were cool.

Rarely, I've flipped games from EB but that feels wrong.

Also, I've traded in a ton of the CC $5 stuff from last year that I was through with.

It becomes a part-time job in the end . . . but I enjoy it.

Ignition Factor $1.99

I don't remember seeing this during the update.

Bingo. That is the key. Enjoyment. The hunt to me is better than the capture.
:) Flipping I don't feel comfortable with either, but you can find deals if you look hard enough. :)

Take Care,

100 beautiful pages. At what point do we need a new page? Or does the new forum software work better than the old stuff so that's no longer necessary?
Has anyone ordered a used Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne from EB? Did it come with the soundtrack?
I haven't, but if it doesn't, you can order the OST directly from Atlus for 2 bucks. [go to www.atlus.com, scroll down, click "Store", and
"Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Soundtrack 2.00"

Looks like that even includes shipping in the CONUS, but it's not totally clear.

I'm only at 40 pages now since I changed my settings to show 50 posts per page :D. It makes it a lot easier to read topics and they really go a lot faster.

It's probably better if you go by posts than by pages.

Also, I think since Cheapy changed the forums, everything is supposed to be working better, but that he needs some new servers due to the strain of the amount of users at one time. Especially when he opened up the forums for browsing without logging in/being a guest they used to really slow to a crawl due to the influx of lurkers/guests.

I think this thread could keep going.
