Arcana is a surprisingly good game . . . had it not vanished and the codes worked, I might have bought it . . . although I would never replay it.

But I picked this one up in 1994 in NYC (probably about $15 complete and resold it for $10 when done). I went through a lot of games that way back in that time. The used shops were really cool (run by Chinese guys who knew their games).

Anyway, it is distinct RPG with card-like play. I remember starting it and thinking it sucked (poor graphics and all) but then loved it . . . but not enough to keep it.
I agree - my friend owned it back when it came out, and it was a tough (though fun and rewarding) 1st person perspective RPG.

Great music, too...
The times they are a changing and it's not for the better.

I would hope that with EB and Gamestop combineing it would have made a bigger company capable of better deals, but I guess not. I have contacted EB customer support about this via email. Once they reply, I will report back with their comments.

If they no longer combine the discount with free shipping, I will no longer be buying games from them. I won't even look at their website anymore.
No offense, but they have been giving stuff away with the free shipping and all . . . a $2 hike per order (in and of itself) should not be a complete deal breaker.

I've gotten some fantastic deals (esp. combined with how cheap I've gotten my store credit :)) Removing the extra 15% or the free shipping, most of my deals would still be very good ones . . . I'm not going to all bent out of shape considering how little EB has made on many of my transactions.

Maybe I'll buy fewer games that I never play ;-)

People went out of control when eBay hiked their seller fees buy $.10 and this caused them to reinstate the old fees. If CAG can do a similar thing with EB, maybe we can get back the combo.

I kinda wonder if some of the management from EBGAMES have been lurking in this thread and figured out our tricks. We all knew this day would come.

Oh well, my game boy collection is complete anyway and I don't feel too guilty about my small orders. Like it's been said, if you don't order the good stuff fast it's gone quickly.

Not worth it... I don't want to see them stop the deals all together.

The extra $2 is just a 'cost of operation' hike... ha ha...

Well... if the days of the good updates are over.. C'est la Vie. I've certainly bloated my collection by a good 100 extra titles.

Here's to hoping EB reinstates free games with every order! (ie SAVER).

I don't think anyone has said this specifically...it seems like SAVER is just dead entirely. I'd like to order a cheap game, and 25% off is actually less than the $2 shipping -- but it won't let me add SAVER even if there aren't any other codes in my cart.

I added SAVER not 5 minutes ago. It's still working alone.

grrrr, it must be being cranky then. Codes keep disappearing and reappearing in my cart, so it must have thought one of the discount codes was still in there. I'll try SAVER again.

Won't work for me. If I enter pplay15/cag 15 first, it says I have not met the requirements for the SAVER promotion, and if I enter SAVER first it says I can't combine the codes.

And you KNOW people aren't shopping the site, because I was just able to pick up the last copy of Kirby's Dream course two hours after update o_o. Also, SaGa Frontier 2 is still in stock at 4.99.

Edit: Okay, it WILL work, but only a combo of PPLAY15 and SAVER works. If you try to enter CAG15 and SAVER it will NOT work. Looks like they're on to us >_>. I JUST made an order too >_

I'm against overreaction as well . . . don't get all bent out of shape.

Codes didn't work for me either and so the order I would have placed . . . I held off on.

This will be the clearest way to send a message . . . Don't place an order!

We all know that most of these games will come back . . . if they have a big drop in number of orders they may reconsider. Although, fewer orders may end up saving them money :)

Hey, I resent being told I'm overreacting. I wasn't Chicken Little'ing, I was just trying to check out successfully (which didn't happen -- I knew some clever CAGger would eventually notice the game!).

Anyways, I don't think all is "back to normal". The cart would accept SAVER sometimes, but there were definite limits. I think any new game in the cart voided it? Also, there seemed to be a minimum number of games or minimum cost requirement at work -- I couldn't pinpoint exactly what, but if I dropped out too many items, it would pull SAVER on me. If the rules to the code have indeed changed, hopefully we'll get a straight announcement from EB/customer service at some point.

EDIT: I too was using PPLAY15 when I got all 3 codes to load. Since it's probably us they're cracking down on, identifying myself with CAG15 seemed chancy.

Oh, SailorDaravon, it was you who got my Dream Course! I was messing around for so long to check out, I knew that would happen! Heh, I'm proud of myself for knowing it was another cagger though. 8) Good job scooping me.

o_o. Sorry about that =p. If it's any consulation, I've been trying to score a copy for my girlfriend for a couple months now, so at least you know it'll get played.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did kill the codes eventually...EB and GS are the major "like" competitors, and, well, since they're not competing anymore, the mgmt may think there's no longer a need to allow the rather gratuitous use of codes.

I found that I couldn't use SAVER (at all, even without CAG15 or PPLAY15) when I had only SNES games in my cart. As soon as I added a NES or PSX or PS2 game, it let me use SAVER.

I don't see a posting here, but I read about 3 pages of the "stack all codes" thread (holy explosion!), and someone mentioned Cheapy speaking with EB about getting SAVER fixed. If that's true, thanks tons Cheapy! Back to normal with the 3 codes would be wonderful (though a bit less competition in the mornings would be great too!). If anyone has an official confirmation that things are fixed, let us all know.

And yeah, this morning I was totally trying with just a SNES game. Sheesh, of course that was the troublesome system. The successful loads of SAVER did indeed occur when I had PS2 and N64 games in the cart.
woot! I posted something buy worthy!
Yeah, that happened to me for the first time last week. Got a positive response and it made my day. 8)
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/232743.asp

it's probably always in stock, but I'd like to point out that this is in fact worth the $3, seeing as it comes with a full version of capcom vs snk 2 EO (minus the live option, which is a non factor, seeing as nobody plays on live anyways).
thank you.. i've been looking to pick this up but always seem to miss out..
It's $4.99 when you add it to your cart.
Hrm, so it is. Well, I called and added to an order I had processing and got the price. Go figure...

daroga

Thanks for the Xbox Exhibition tip. I don't own an Xbox, but I have some friends who do, and for $2.40ish Capcom vs. SNk 2 is WELL worth it.
Why did you quote it, then post the same thing 4 hours later? :whistle2:k
just wanted to let everyone know it was still availible..

Holy CRAP this is the hugest SNES update I've ever seen, 100 + games. I just got Ys 3, 7th Saga, Illusion of Gaia, and PIECES. I've been looking for Pieces for like five YEARS. They've got stuff in I've never ever seen before. Thank you God.

Yeah, what an amazing update from ebgames today. I hesitated on a lot of games because I wanted to see what other good games I might miss out on, and I ended up missing out on all the good games :whistle2:(

Holy crap, I bagged Resident Evil 3(PS1 preowned) for $.79 after discounts. It's gone now, but something to look out for.

Here's a link to that to put on the first page for reference:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/166192.asp

Odd that there's two listings for it, here's the other that's listed as $12.99 used:
http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/174699.asp

Although I'm pondering MMX2 & 3 purchases, I'm better off waiting for the Mega Man X Collection, since that will probably be $29.99 when it comes out.
