IMO, Pilotwings is the greatest N64 game ever, and I seriously play it to this day. 7.99 B/C is a steal, if that's the price. I think this is a game that everyone should try at least once. This and Blast Corps.
 
Well, 2 weeks ago I woke up every morning for the update. I was able to snag Ogre Battle, Ogre Tactics, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, both Warship gunners and probably some other things.

For the last week I have not been able to wake up early, so when I get to work I check in. I have found DDS, Nocture, LaPucelle Tactics and a couple of other things. :)

Will try to get up early tomorrow though.

I used to be here with them but there doesn't seem to be much of a point anymore. Plus I spent way too much money back in the heyday of these things. :p

While its a funny line, it not true at all . . . the complainers are largely people who just rolled into this thread with a few target titles. They don't contribute much in the way of links.

Some folks are consistent and stick with the thread and actually point out the unusual stuff that comes along.

Also, the complaint about the complainers seems to have helped shame them a little.
 
All of our hopes hinge on someone else hating a game that we think is great. I think more people need to go into this thread realizing that. Obviously we know that EB has nothing to do with what old games get traded in, but some people take this attitude as if EB is somehow responsible for not having Rare Game X in stock. It's funny to see so many people going "this update sucks, I don't even know why I come here anymore!" and they get this weird "back in my day" complex about the whole thing. As if the scene has morally gone down the tubes since the glory days, or something silly like that. All part of the bizarre sense of entitlement that plagues the CAG board at times.
 
My first completely bad shipment came today. I got PS2 The Adventures of Cookie & Cream in a generic DVD case with a few, small, noticeable scratches along with a disc only PS1 Rush Hour with a Hollywood Video disc sized sticker stuck on it, and to top it off a poorly handled Dr. Muto that I'm going to return because I know I can find something that has been taken care of. Dissapointing? Yes. Mad? No. Can't luck out everytime. Hopefully I don't get flagged for returning too much...seeing me around the store more and more often with things like this lately.
 
I've noticed that also in the few short months I've been here. I guess I don't know what the glory days were like since I wasn't there, but I've been finding deals I would've never thought of looking for before I found the site. I've picked up a nice dreamcast library in a few short weeks thanks to this site. It really shows that the power of the internet is to bring like-minded people together from all over the nation and the world. I'm lovin every minute of being part of the Videogame Generation.



It's a great time to be a cheap ass gamer.

got both personas , orge battle, orge tactics, bridgeidine (or whatever its called) Valk profile. that musical adventure game.

i might just have all the harder to find rpgs eb has had

It happened. It wasn't particularly dramatic, but it happened. Killer 7 had a price drop, I snagged a copy of Kirby 64...

Well yeah rares can only last so long. Maybe most of the rare inventory is cleared out because people are starting to wise up and keep the rare rpgs/sell them on eBay instead. It was only a matter of time for the PS1 games.
 
Disgaea - That is great. I have not been able to pick up a copy during the updates. :whistle2:(

Apparently DDS and Nocturne are also being re-released.

I did score a copy of Dual Hearts today. I saw Wizadry but passed due to the advice of you'all. :)

I'm going to rant here for a minute:

What we need is the story from an insider at EB. I've been following the update for going on a year now (I wake up at 6 am CST anyway and have coffee watching the update and this thread).

About 9 months ago there was this great run of SNES games and there was a BOGO code for classic games (2 $10 games would be $12 after shipping . . .). Then one day the games dried up and almost nothing came in stock for days and days and days. I wrote something like . . . "well they must have run through the stock and now that's it forever."

Has that statement been true? Of course not.

EB.com does not accept tradein games by themselves (anymore, they used to). So, the stock must come from the stores . . . by what mechanism and pace, I don't know. Plus, it appears that the stock must get processed and posted (hence they just appear one morning) but by what mechanism and pace, I don't know.

My point is that we don't really know where this stock is coming from and at what rate is gets processed. To declare that a certain game will never come in stock or expect a given game to come into stock is crazy. You will see a given game (REZ, Klonoa 1, Kirby 64, Arcana SNES, Seaman) and you might see it a few times within a week and then not see it for months and months.

That's the long run of the EB morning update.

They do take PS1 games and some stores take SNES (not mine). Who would trade in Final Fantasy III for $3, I don't know! But someone does.

But I swear that some of this old stock must just sit somewhere . . . maybe a store without display space??? and then it gets bumped into the online store and then it gets posted.

Actually it sold out by the late afternoon, didn't know it was $26.99, I got mine for $29.99 bc :sad: Aw well, I played it in an EBgames when I was out of town a month back and loved it, don't ask me why it took so long for me to get it now.

Heh, I too watch this thread every morning. same routine: get up 10 min before the update, put on some coffee, wash up. Then I sit down and browse ebgames and cag, all the hile I enjoy my coffe and wait for the day to begin. Then I uasally have to use the jon and "fire one out" as Peter Griffon would say :D
