I remember when Cowboys & Aliens was a webcomic. And then a few years after I read it, I saw it as a graphic novel in a comic book shop. And now it is a movie - who would have thought? Huh.

Thanks for the bumps everybody I 'll reply to everyone in their threads ;) I went to the concert in the park with some friends today so I got home a little late. I have to work tomorrow because I was excused from jury duty so I don't have to get up extra early :D

metroid had the password system, but yeah, other games that used it could be frustrating.

the CE of alan wake has a card with a code for the first DLC, but the 2nd dlc, 'the writer', it doesn't have, so i'd get it if you have any points (guys here sell them at most 1600pts for 16$ so you really pay less than it seems on their dlc sales if you take advantage. just make the other person send 1st, unless it's a trusted member).

i had been kicking myself for not getting these the last time they were that price cuz i really loved that game, but never played the dlcs (traded it in for 45$, lol. now it's like 10-15$ to buy).

This whole you being nude thing has really made my thread popular. I'm still not selling shit, but at least the comments are good. I think you may have a new career.

dude, fear not, as forza 3 is the best racing game in existence. i missed forza 2 but played part 1. many that loved 2 felt they got wronged by some of the stuff in 3. since you didn't play either, you will LOVE it. i saw it on your last game played on live, and you get an achievement 1 minute into the game, so i was confused about that. i sold it only so i could afford forza4, but man, it got nearly perfect review scores from almost every site. please tell me your thoughts after you spend time with it. buy some liveries from the shop (in game currency) & see the awesome stuff the community has made.

all the dlc car packs are cheap atm (i paid full price for most, and still never used them cuz it was a game i didn't plan to sell - i have to rethink my "not playing the games i'm going to keep until later" strategy. i never run out of games i need to beat fast while the value is up, so i never get to play the games i have set aside to keep, lol). the good thing is lots of them will transfer to forza 4, plus i get 25 bonus cars for getting the CE (which will be my 1st CE of a game i plan to keep, EVER :bouncy:.

Bump...

I'll reply in everyone's threads, I added a pic for KHII hopefully I can get a hold of a better camera than the one built into my cellphone

Oops, almost forgot to answer twztid. When I mentioned entering codes I was thinking of 1943, Kid Icarus, and several others which I can't remember since I don't have them anymore  I think Dragon Warrior had codes as well but It's been so long since I played it that I can't be sure.

yep, i remember all those games with codes. it sucked when i wrote them down & got them mixed up sometimes. having to start over SUCKED!! that did give the devs the opportunity to give cheat codes, though.

btw, you say you need a camera, huh? here's an invisible coupon for 20$ off of anything in my electronics store (one use for oldschool77 only).

I love cheat codes! I only use them when I get frustrated, but sometimes they do some pretty funny stuff for the game. I remember having a Game Genie for the Sega genesis, I could actually play the Sonic the Hedgehog games without dying every ten minutes.

I've been thinking about trying to get my hands on one of those PS2 codebreaker/gameshark things, particularly for use with Champions: Return to Arms, I want to change my character's appearance mid-game and maybe re-make my choices of where I put my skill points...

wow i had a gameshark & the memory card i gave away free to the guy who bought my ps2 (one of my first few sales here). he didn't want it, but i had no use for it. that sucks.

good laaaawwwddd thas alotta games ol'school (in 2nd post). 93 just on ps3. sucks, man, i had a battalion wars 2 wii manual, but threw it away shortly after i started to trade here (i didn't think it would be worth the shipping cost to sell it. wasn't thinking about making friends that might need it :wall:). i traded it in at game xchange, then saw the manual a day or 2 later around my house. if it wasn't so far, i'd have taken it up there (surprised they accepted it w/o the manual). love that game. wish it was more of an upgrade from the GCN version, but it was just better graphics & added boats. still loved it.

bout to head off to bed. feel bad still, and my potassium came back normal, as did all the tests for my different organs. it was 4.4. normal range is 3.5 to 5.5 so it's right where it should be. it was at 3.2 when i was passing out and having traumatizing experiences. that's bad, cuz something else is causing me to have these symptoms i attributed to my hypokalemia (or too much potassium due to the meds i take to treat hypokalemia). doctor said to stop taking the potassium, though, so may be done with that. praise God! maybe i'll start to feel better once i can finally sleep? we shall see.

going to bed til tomorrow. talk to you then. give me a bump later if you don't mind, please, sir. thank you. take care.

Wohoo, I had an awesome time the past few days, my nephew came to visit so I went to the movies and to Knott's Berry Farm. I also bought 007 Bloodstone for $10 and was able to trade a few things on CAG. That would be awesome if I could get more money from just posing than from actually working but than my brain would probably turn to mush... faster  To anyone who wants to see Captain America I would say go see it if you liked Thor. Very similar style and I liked the teaser for the Avengers movie that is shown after the credits. I'm definitely going to buy this movie whenever it comes out:D

I never had a game genie for any of my Nintendo consoles but I did use the cheat code to play as the unarmored Samus in Metroid. I also had a subscription to Nintendo Power at the time so if there was a code for a game I had I probably used it just to see what it did. I do have the device and cheat discs for use with GBA games on the Gamecube in my list ;)

Thanks for the offer twztid but I meant get back instead of buy though, I lent my only good camera to my brother in Vegas since he has a baby now. I figured I could get by with either the camera in my cellphone or the one on my digicam but neither one is good at low light photography. I actually have to add a few more games to a few lists now  That's great that you don't need to spend money on meds but I hope they figure out what's wrong with you soon, I'll try to chat with you tomorrow.

How about this: if the modeling thing doesn't work out, we'll do a reality show where you fish in the nude. We hit the water, you strip down, antics ensue. Every once in awhile twztid comes on, we harass the shit out of him, antics ensue. I'm sure someone would put this on TV.

Yes please (in regards to pics of Dino Crisis). And, is Transformers mint?

Free Bump. You know, us old folks can't type as much, on account of this arthritis.
Bump...

What a coincidence, I read Wapsi Square too  I've been reading it for quite a while as well so I didn't realize that it would take that long to go through the whole story. I like the recent twists they had with shelly and also with Monica's boss and her "librarian" friend ;) I regularly read about 40 webcomics but some only update once a week so it only takes me about 30 minutes each night to read them all before I go to bed
Actually, it was because it took me so long to read my list of webcomics that I culled them. That, and half of them updated only sporadically; I like dependable updates!

Yes, Pablo is a master story-teller, I've really enjoyed the complexity and the characters. Re-reading the archives (and some of the comments by fans) helped me understand a lot of intricacies. Hindsight also helped - for example, when there's a page with a sequence of events that I didn't understand, or a character references something that doesn't make sense at the time but is explained much later. I'm still a little fuzzy on the relative time-line for a few events, but I feel I've got a much better grasp on things now that I re-read everything.

I'm glad there still seems to be plenty of plot and story, even after the main arc (the calendar machine) wrapped up. Wapsi Square is one of the first comics I check on the weekdays.

The rest include:
the Abominable Charles Christopher
Girl Genius
Order of the Stick
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Questionable Content
The Nonadventures of Wonderella
Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic
xkcd

But, you know what can take me 30+ minutes to get through? the Cheezburger network! I don't read all of it, but there's enough that if I get a few days behind, I'm spending the better part of an hour going through the sub-sites I enjoy the most.

i have the arthritis, too, but trust me, how much i type is about 10% of how much i talk.

that gameshark was for ps2. i never had any other cheat devices. i forgot why i got that one.

thanks on the siberia thing. not sure i'll like it, though. almost tried it on original xbox.

the money saved on meds will just mean my mom has money for stuff she needs, as every bill i have atm is payed by my mom (that's now unemployed). but at least i get 20 games! oh, that was for something else.

I miraculously don't have any arthritis in my hands but I know I'll eventually have it in my legs and probably my back from all that backpacking when I was younger  I'll post some pics tonight for you sdragon and I'll reply to everyone else in their threads ;)

no more potassium meds now. will be definitive if it's still at a decent level on my next visit in a few months. he seemed rather sure that i didn't need them as long as i keep the diet i have. feel okay today, but just strangely dizzy, or light headed, but that wasn't a big concern to anyone. i hadn't been able to sleep, which has been the cause before, but has never stuck around this long. oh well, i have to just realize it's in God's Hands, and aside from folling my doctor's orders, there's nothing i can do about it.

he was more concerned with how stressed i was than anything else, but that comes from not being able to explain my symptoms to someone who has never experienced them, and they brush it off (which doctor seemed to do after my test results came it, too, but i was talking to him on the phone then, so it was just less personal overall, which could have been why it felt that way). thanks for asking, bud. i'll fill you in once time passes & i know more how i feel (since i didn't sleep ANY thursday night - due to caffiene, not anything else). TTYL. take care.

friendly bump! I have a few questions for you veterans about thread maintenance:
- how often/when do you change your thread title? Do you find that it helps a lot, or a little?
- when do you decide to do a price-drop on items?

Any other tips or advice for thread maintenance?

I change mine to reflect what I need or have. Does it help, I feel it does. Far as prices, I'm negotiable on everything. After all, this is CAG, and everyone is looking for deals.

Maintenance wise, keep your thread organized. I can't tell you how many posts I have looked through and can't tell what the person is wanting or selling. Then you have the guys that place every game they have in their thread only to find out they aren't selling or trading them. Why even have it there then?? Use the area CAG has developed to place your collection, your trade list, and your wanted list. Bottom line, if you don't want to get rid of a game, a movie, or whatever it is you have....Don't place it in your thread. Hope this helps you out.

completely disagree. maybe the stuff you don't want to trade/sell, but it's so hidden you will lose views to newcomers, and it doesn't sort the items by console, so i don't even look at the 'marketplace only' lists since i have to scan over tons of crap just to see one current gen game, then scan more crap (rinse, repeat). maybe place your items there in addition to your thread, but by no means abandon your thread for the marketplace. i have helped many people migrate & set up threads cuz they'd go years without a single nibble (due to the way the marketpalce is set up). do a search for a game you have in the marketplace & see if you'd be able to find it, and realize that person will have to search for each game individually using the search function.

anyway, once people see your thread title too much, they don't realize you've updated & may start to ignore it. every 2 to 3 weeks i'd change it completely. some choose just to put, "updated on..." in the title, but i don't think that works as well as tricking people into thinking it's a new thread (use that marketing knowledge, dog).

changing prices is a whole other ballgame. i think you should let the TIV's and other sellers determine when you should change, but most CAG's will offer you a little less if they're interested in a lower price. just put that prices are not firm in your intro, and i'd stay away from messing with prices unless there are sells, etc, as it really just gives a ballpark that you are looking for. i HATE threads that say, "offers only, i will ignore pm's that ask how much," strictly due to the fact that ONLY YOU know the LEAST you will accept. here's the way i respond to that, "want an offer? .01 cent. no? .02 cents. no?, well keep playing that game until you get to the lowest price you will say yes to. then, tell me what that is. i'll wait over here, lol!"

oldschool, you opened la noire yet? please tell me what you think AFTER the the first 2 desks (1st one is training, so you don't play the actual game till second desk, and it's the worst desk in the whole game, so even remotely liking it would warrant a complete playthrough).

Thanks for the bumps! :D

I'll leave you some info on what my strategy has been so far in your thread Alaisiagae ;)

That sign looks vintage skinkrawl if you want to see some up to date stuff there are entire websites devoted to nude fishing

I haven't opened it yet twztid I've been busy cleaning up still :whistle2:( There is still a lot of stuff I need to get rid of and I need to finish my work shed and put everything back in since it looks like it might actually rain soon:shock: It drizzled today but luckily not enough to ruin the wood and tools I had left out. It usually never rains in the summer out here and I was shocked that it actually did rain and might again soon.
Good to hear that you might be off those meds permanently, keep me updated. I know it's hard to do but try not to stress out too much, long term stress can be just as bad for your health as a disease. I've had that exact same problem with the doctors I deal with, they really do need to take a more personal interest in their patients but they have so many it's difficult. If you've never seen it there's a movie called the "the Hospital" with George C. Scott that you might want to check out ;)
will do on the update.

what's crazy is i have a rare doctor that does know his patients personally. i drive about 60 miles out of my city, round trip, just to go to him. my grandmother & mother both went to him, and that's why i do, as he charges extremely low fees when we are having hard times. mine is more expensive because of the blood tests, but my moms last visit was 20$ even w/ no insurance (mine have been 60$). great guy that i trust, so as you said, he's more worried about the stress since he has gone to extra efforts to make sure all my test results are normal, and i talk to him personally when i call, not some intern or whatever. yeah, it's just me being frustrated when i was griping, as he sincerely cares for us, and knows what he's talking about. i am truly blessed, but when going through hard times, it sucks no matter what.

i have to drop the caffeine. when i stop, i get withdrawls, so i'm definitely addicted to it (and use it to go without sleep, so basically like a speed freak would use dope). it only worked like that because it had been years since i had drank sodas, or anything but water. now it's not keeping me up, and i'm not taking more just so it will, but i have terrible headaches, and sleeplessness when i go 2-3 days without, and that might be what's causing my dizziness, etc. been working out & have lost 20 pounds. i'm at 195 today (at 5'11"). i was 120 my whole life until my internal bleeding episode where my legs turned black & swelled up in 2006. weighed about 175 on a normal basis after that while working in an extremely physical warehouse job (which i loved). i hope i can get back into that. at this weight i don't look fat at all, but at 220, i do (in my face & stomach only, though). can't wait to get a job, as the stress will be much less (since there will be less time to worry about insignificant things that i dwell on now).

How do you decide to remove the "pending" status from your trade list?

In other words, imagine the following scenario. A CAG wants to buy some games from you, but only checks into their account every four or five days. Do you keep "pending out" next to the games, or do you remove it and see if someone (who responds to PMs faster) wants those same games? Is it bad manners to do something like that?

Friendly bump!

What games do you play to unwind? I realized that a lot of my games tend to rev me up, and I don't really have any that I can play (successfully) while half-asleep. Except for Okami, that one is pretty easy.

I have the Witcher 1, but I still haven't played it. =/ I bought the red-box edition (not the enhanced edition) because I thought it would be important to have a manual to look at.
