OMG!!11! Ninja Gaiden is teh rawxzor!1
I liked team ninjas comment on the difficulty. I forget the exact quote but they pretty much said that if you think the normal game is too difficult then you're a pussy and shouldn't even bother with the other modes or the HP.

when do the HPs kick it? i dl'ed the hps when i first played this game. are they additional levels, enemies, or is it just another difficulty level? i thought it was going to be a pimp ninja suit or something.

Yeah, and they also said that that is how Team Ninja makes games, take it or leave it.

I myself really enjoyed Ninja Gaiden, but after selling my Xbox I had no use for the game and sold it. I was playing it and left it for 2 weeks BAD DECISION. I sucked horribly at it took me awhile to get used to it again. But I also think that if you can't handle this DMC3 is not for you and to ignore that it even exists. I also think it was easier than Shinobi, and everyone loves Shinobi and his red scarf :p.

I'm not a hardcore gamer (my day job and my art projects cuts in to my leisure time) so I stayed away from this game. Its been marketed to those gamers who play games 24/7.

Still, if it goes down to the $20 price range, maybe I'll pick it up.

i traded my Mechassault 2 (the easiest game i've ever played) for NG (almost the hardest game ever played). the challenge definitely makes it interesting...that and the enourmous boobies the females in this game have.

ninja gaiden is the best game for the xbox for me. And I never had a problem with the camera that wasn't easily fixed by recentering. The real trick for me was changing the way I thought about action games. You can't just play to get from Point A to B, you have to immerse yourself in every battle. But I'm a perfectionist and was obsessed with learning how to fight with the least amount of blocking possible. I would recommend replaying the room in the first level where the trapdoor is until you can beat everyone that spawns without taking damage(every time you exit and re-enter the room all enemies respawn) and beating everyone within the time limit (just trying to do that was enough to get me hooked). Once you can do that, you'll understand a lot more about the game, and I bet it'll get much more fun for you. P.S. - rolling is pretty much a given for not sucking ass at this game.

Ninja Gaiden is really only difficult when you are starting off. That is mainly because you don't have many advanced moves yet. Once you get past the first three levels or so, the game is more managable. I think it was done this way on purpose because if you manage past that, you really feel as if you have mastered the new moves you get. Kind of like how a Ninja would in the movies. It CAN get frustrating but you have to stick with it. Once you beat it you really feel like you accomplished something.

Once you get used to the control scheme and get the moves down, you start to feel like a total bad ass pulling off some of the combos. I admit, I usually don't like games that are super difficult, but i stuck with NG and I'm glad I did. And for the record, the dragon boss sucked ass!
Maybe I'll give it a 2nd chance when the XBOX 2 is released and I wait a year or 2 for a big price drop.
that's a long time with no ninja gaiden.

That big tittie lady in the church (the pink one) was hard for me. That's as far as i got last time around before i had to return the game.

Ninja Gaiden is a great game, and you suck if you think its too hard, I beat it and I suck at games, you just have to learn the tricks.
Ahh there you are "I beat it and I suck at games" guy. I was wondering when your cocky ass would show up. Thanks for attempting to make all of us NG haters feel like shit since, y'know, YOU beat it and you SUCK at games. Must mean we're just piles of shit. Kudos to your self ego boost.
wtf are you talking about, i do suck at games. you name it you can beat me at it. street fighting, fps, anything inbetween im average at best. like i said you just have to learn how to play it. you can hate the game for many reasons, im just saying that it being to hard isnt a very good one. if i want to boost my ego ill just think about how im not you
think about how hard and unfair it would actully be if a countless number of random bad guys attacked you on the street...ninja gaiden seems pretty easy now, dosent it?
I actually had this happen and I found it easier than NG

I agree. Ninja Gaiden is not fun. I do enjoy a good challenge, that's why I play online games, but I don't enjoy the amount of frustration it brings to me.

With me its the opposite. I enjoy online games for competition and single player games for the challenge, but i'm in the minority of people in this thread that enjoy Ninja Gaiden.

I thought Ninja Gaiden was an excellent game. The normal mode, while it seems difficult when you play it the first time through, becomes easy after you beat the game once.

I think the fact that the second boss seems to be particularly difficult for such an early stage boss put a lot of people off. Once you get past that portion, the game does get a bit easier. And yeah, the black ninjas suck. Oh god, they suck.

I still love the game....

...but the black ninjas must die.

Hmm... after figuring what the hell... I went back to that one room in the beginning and spent an hour whoopin on ninjas. After that I was able to beat the 1st, 2nd and 3rd bosses without healling once. After you get counter the game does get a lot easier. That fat guy was a total pushover too... Just do a running slash, block his counter, and repeat...

I'm up to level 12 now... for the most part, this game is actually pretty easy. I beat Doku using only one potion. He only hit me 4 times. I fought 80 of the red dragon fiends back to back, three at a time without using one healling item.

The hardest boss so far was Alma. The easiest was probably either that blob with 20 eyes or the dragon skelleton.

See once you play a game and actually take the time to get use to the style and mechanics of it, it's not nearly as difficult as it seems.

Ninja Gaiden=great game. The punishment for being slack is great but so is the reward for learning and pulling off some of the amazing combos. The squeeze is definitely worth the juice!

Late to the thread, but I'd put NG as one of the top 3 games on Xbox. Frustratingly hard for a level or two, but by making you learn how to play before you really get going, you're able to adapt faster as the game goes. Beautiful graphics, lightening fast play, and constantly evolving enemies that force you to always change your style. I've played about 3 chapters now on the Hurricane Pack DL, and it rocks just as hard the second time. Too many games to play right now to keep hammering on it, but I plan on coming back to work away on both Hurricane Packs eventually. I don't have much of a collection. I play once and sell on ebay. NG, along with the 2 Halo games, are the only Xbox titles I own that I will never sell.
