Online Deal/Sale of the Year

After giving this due thought (and due to the severe lack of online deals I participated in this year), I'd have to say the best was the almost-but-not-quite end of the year bradygames.com cheapass guide sale. Nothing like picking up some of the harder to find guides at dirt prices (literally....a cup of wet dirt is about what each guide cost me) :bouncy:

Probably won't win, but I fucking love the EBgames 2for1 sales. Toss in edge card and CAG15 and SAVER, and you are sittin' pretty.

I'm not sure if this really counts as one deal, but the streak of discounted brand new games at the beginning of the summer from EB online. MP2 15 bucks, Crystal Chronicles 10, Tiger Woods DS 10, 4 swords 15. I'm sure there were others, I just don't remember them.
the annual Deep Discount DVD sale. Always good.
Second. Even though it wasn't QUITE as good as it was the year before (in that they DID notch some of their prices up a tad right before the sale started and you could no longer use it on pre-orders), that doesn't erase the fact that it was still far and away the best price you could get on just about any DVD, especially with no tax and free shipping. Multiple coupon codes also let you go back for more if there was something you forgot and/or just couldn't stay away.

Not sure if this counts as a deal, but id like to nominate the Mountain Dew/Microsoft "win an Xbox 360 every 10 minutes contest". I didnt sleep for like a week straight trying :D

I thought the "Get $50 Paper Mario for $10" deal was pretty sweet. I later played & then resold that game (to a clueless mom) for $40 of profit!
Jackass.
Why am I a jackass for playing & then re-selling PM2 on Ebay? Please explain.

Is it because I said "clueless mom"? Well perhaps you're right. That was a little rude. BUT YOU CALLING ME A JACKASS MAKES YOU JUST AS RUDE, and no better than me.

Wherehouse.com - 33% off on everything

Bradygames - 65% off on guides

Best Buy Clearance sale - I know alot of people will disagree with me, but I was one of the lucky ones who got Growlanser Generations AND Ys online

I nominate the EB Clearance they had earlier in the year, Metroid Prime 2 for 14.99, Zelda: The Four Swords 14.99, FFX2 9.99, Metal Gear Solid 3 14.99, there were a bunch of games for dirt cheap and I remember coming online first thing every morning trying to see if EB put them back in stock

can we say more then 1???

if so

1. Gamecrazy 3 for 15 deal That was just insane
2. Best buy Clearance sales (those in may and i think oct?
3. TRU 9.99 sale
4. Deepdiscount BUY 1 get 1 free on Box sets
5... CC Sale (or did this happen in jan the one just is going on now)

i dont recall seeing any deals at EB or gamestop this year

bradygames.com definetly. A lot of those guides were new releases or some rare old ones that usually go for a lot more. And it was before the end of the year I put my order on th 30th.

I got the really high quality red octane Arcade Stick for 19$. With the PS2 to PC USB adapter. Made my Millenium. Here I come MAME!

I'd have to say the Metroid Prime 2 and 4 Swords deal at ebgames.com for $15 each. Everyone was watching ebgames' website dailey for a week to see when the price drops would happen again.

The paper mario deal at ebgames for $20 with a $10 voucher was good, too, although it took some effort to ever get that voucher.

Throw in my vote for Wherehouse.com 33% off. That thing was legendary. I had hinged my entire DVD spending year around the DDD sale, until the Wherehouse sale came along and it was time for a change of plans.

There were some clearance deals I was considering (TRU december drops for example), but the fact that the Wherehouse sale was ONLINE really makes it a no-brainer IMO. No driving, minimal threat of hoarding, kickass selection, the inclusion of used, new, and PRE-ORDERED items... it's gonna be hard to ever top this one.

Honorable mention goes to the aforementioned DDD and TRU deals, but I stand by Wherehouse 33% off as my pick.

It wasn't a specific sale, but those couple of months there in the summer when ebgames.com was dropping a lot of games down to 2.99-14.99 periodically throughout the day. I picked up a lot of good games: Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Zelda 4 Swords, etc.

That or the 0.30 Wildthings Trilogy at DDD.com

Tough one here my nominations from highest to lowest ranking.

1)Wherehouse 33% off sale
2)EB Games buy 2 used games get 1 free (stackable coupon codes)
3)Gamefly annual sale w/free shipping and $3 off code
4)Deep Discount DVD 20%off sale
I guess you all have forgotten the EBgames 56% glitch from this summer.

Wow, I never saw that thread, damn I'm an idiot. I guess that's what happens when its called "PPlay15 stacks with CAG15", I didn't pay attention!

My nom is for Wherehouse. The used DVDs were in fantastic condition and came at a great price, even before the discount. Also filled some holes in my CD collection.

The sad part for me that sale is that was the day I joined CAG. So I was too much in the noob mentality to dive into a ridiculously sweet deal. Of course, I don't think I'd ever bought from EBgames.com at that time either. Which quickly changed.
