Opera Browser on Dec. 22nd

Oh dizzam.. this might not interest others, but I just thought that if the browser works with YouTube.. I can have some large screen (albeit crappy quality) anime viewing. Freaking score! Also.. we can try those sites that have been making flash games for the Wii..

Tactical Assassin @ WiiCade is pretty awesome.
Win. Flash Point is like those old point blank games. Lots of little shooting mini games. That will be hella fun with the Wiimote I do believe.

Well, I've been using my PS3 to watch stuff on Youtube, so here's hoping you can on the Wii.
Sweet, a VC game I actually want to buy!
Nope, DKC is not coming on christmas, it is Super Mario Bros, Toe Jam and Earl, R Type, Street Fighter II and Super Castlevania IV.

Castlevania? I thought that was Europe only?

Really? Awesome, SMB and Super Castlevania IV will be the first games I buy for the VC then...:bouncy:
Grrrr. I want that 5 minutes of my life back. ;)
Me too, oh wait the fucking wow has more patches to download. Ok you are forgiven.
whens this shit gonna be up
On the Gamefaqs forums they are saying in 19 mins at 3 EST, but I haven't found any proof. Chances are it is bullcrap.

its up NOW!
Yep downloading now, but it is damn large.
Yeah...close to 1000 blocks?

This is my first time getting something on the shop...the Luigi coin thing is neat, haha.

Speaking of which, I need to buy some damn VC points soon to get some of these games.

Zooming in is also so easy, so quick, as is scrolling.

The screen looks like it has an inch or so of black space on top and bottom and a little less on the sides (instead of being pure fullscreen) but it still looks great.

This is going to change my web browsing, LOL.

Also, no need to put http:// and whatnot into the browser when entering URLs.

yeah, no complaints so far. page load times are not bad at all. the mega-icons at the bottom could be smaller, but all and all, very cool.

I'm very excited. Mine is downloading as I type. While it obviously won't be replacing my laptop for internet browsing, it is pretty cool that if I'm hanging out with some people or what not, I can pull up a funny YouTube video or some sports scores right on the television easily.

Maybe its just me but I connect to the Wii Shop channel maybe 1/15 times. I just connected and before I got to the browser it failed. Neither my laptop nor xbox360 have these issues. Nintendo needs to fix this.

Agreed on the mega icons. Maybe in the main release, we can customize the size.

But really, that is such a minor complaint...and right now, that's my ONLY complaint.

I also love that it's pretty quick when entering items, even going one character at a time (because of the on screen pointing - so much easier than, say, on Dreamcast). Speaking of entering text, the list of auto-completion list of text is pretty comprehensive.

Had they made us pay $5 or $10 for this, it'd be worth it, I'm pretty convinced so far...

My mom's having PC trouble (she's not a big Windows fan, she just does her basic web browsing and YouTubing) and I have a feeling this feature might sell her on getting a Wii herself.

^ Agreed. Typing is PLENTY sufficient for URL entering and search terms, but for e-mailing and message board posting, a USB keyboard would be great...and I think we can count on that being supported, definitely.

Also, remember the rumor I think we all read a few weeks ago saying the browser would have trouble rewinding and forwarding in Flash files due to memory constraints? No such issue, works flawlessly.

Is it just my imagination, or does the zoom feature automatically adjust based on what you're trying to zoom in on? I'm in YouTube, and when I click to zoom a video, it zooms to a level that keeps the title and the video in view. However, when I click in the comments section or at the top navigation bar, it zooms in large enough that I can read the text (a larger zoom level than on the video).

If it adjusts like that, that's incredible...but maybe it's just a fluke on YouTube pages?

problem is the Wii's usb ports have lackluster support. both the 360 and ps3 work with a keyboard instantly plugged into the usb port. This was really annoying when entering the WEP code for wireless =/
Still can't find a new update. Anybody else in the west coast having trouble?
It's not an update, it's in the shop channel in the Wii Ware section.

Just got it and after 2 tries to connect via the browser, its working flawlessly. Nintendo is seriously on to something with this. Now if the wifi didn't suck.

Browser works decently well and suprisingly well with video from google video.

However the resolution setting on the Wii (720x480) is really low and everything will look ganky.

it does

Seriously, the Wii just keeps getting better & better.

As smooth as it is, definitely a trial and we are the beta testers =p

Gamespot doesn't load for me, Kotaku zooms out everytime i try to scroll down (I neeed to zoom to be able to actually read anything), gamevideos.com videos don't play at all for me either. Haven't tried CAG yet cuz typing without a keyboard is a serious pain.

I already have a wireless keyboard that I use with my ps3, and will use that once Nintendo activates the usb slots.

Not giving my laptop up for browsing anytime soon but overall though, pretty cool!

Wow, got to say that I am really impressed. Pages load pretty fast and it looks surprisingly decent in spite of the low res. I wonder what features will be added in the final version.
