I've taken the FAQ from the other thread & pretty much just pasted it here without any changes made to it. You can find this FAQ at the bottom of this thread past the game list. The first list is the current game list. The second list is the original clearance list.

Consider yourself lucky if you find any titles from the second list, also most everything on the second list should be a big YMMV as most of those titles are now out of the system &/or have been pretty much bought up by everyone by now.

Alrighty then, here is the new and improved Kmart Clearance list. All titles are in alphabetical order according to their platform. The listings will be as follows: UPC - Game Title - Price.

Any game title that I've put in BOLD is missing the full 12 digit UPC & is represented with zeros. Any missing info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the prices will be listed according to info I get from inventories. However, if 3 people can confirm the same price on a certain game, then I'll change the listed price to reflect it. I'll try my best to keep this updated as much as possible.

All updates on pricing will be done as I find them and/or posts from you guys/gals. I just updated some prices for select games that I found recently. Any price that I just changed has a v next to the price. There may still be a few prices out of whack, but for the most part they're current.

Remember if you have a UPC that we need please PM me so I may update the zeroed UPC's. Thank you to everyone contributing info in this thread!

Below you will find another game list. This is the original clearance list that should mostly be YMMV by now. All prices below are the last known prices reported, but many are out of the system and will now depend on the employee you get, the tag on the game and your own negotiating skills.
I've not included UPC's, but I do have most of them & can add them later if there is enough demand for them. Good luck finding anything on this list!;)

FAQ

Q: Why was this thread created?
A: Because there are multiple threads floating around, and its useful to consolidate. THis one will have the OP constantly updates so you don't have to go digging.

Q: Are these prices YMMV?
A: No, they shouldn't be. I currently have 10 K-Marts in my shopping radius, and they've all been consistent. At one time it was thought that they were YMMV, but I'm pretty sure it was instead employee incompetence at keeping prices updated.

EDIT: Some people are reporting prices that are YMMV, but I am hesitant to mark the deal as such. If you get a different price, it seems to be the exception to the rule, not a true YMMV where it is hit or miss. I'd say these prices are 90% accurate.

Q: An employee said the price was higher than what's on the list.
A: Get the game scanned at the register.

Q: The employee got that price gun and said it was higher than what's on the list.
A: GET THE GAME SCANNED AT THE REGISTER. The gun is incorrect sometimes.

Q: Can I use the price checker thingies?
A: YES! Brilliant idea! They will give you an accurate price. Also, if you have the problem of useless employees not opening the cases for you, you can print off the UPC codes and check them at the price checker.

Q: How can I help?
A: Multiple ways:
- Get a job at K-Mart so we have an inside man
- Post the prices of the games you get
- Write down the prices of games you do not get, then post those too

Q: When are items marked down?
A: Once a month, near the middle of the month.

Q: Does this have anything to do with the weekend 50% off sales K-Mart usually runs?
A: No. While some of these games used to be on the list, this is completely seperate. None of these games are on the 50% list anymore and will not be reduced during these sales.

Q: What if I bought a game at a higher price and it gets reduced? Can I get a price adjustment or a return/rebuy?
A: Chances are VERY SLIM. K-Mart does not do price adjustments on clearance items. A return/rebuy might be possible, but most Kmarts do not employee people with the mental capacity to fully understand this concept.

Q:Can I price check the games without getting into the cases?
A: Yes, thanks to this UPC document from TimTucker. You can scan these at self scanners located in most K-Marts, but note that sometimes prices may not be accurate
Old Link: http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs.doc
New Current Link http://www.timtucker.com/games/kmart_upcs_2.doc

Q: What if the price is higher than what's on the list?
A: Then your store has not done markdowns left. Ask them if they have any pending PCLs and perhaps they can do it for you, or just wait it out. Also, you could try a return/rebuy if you have another local store that did the drops. Use the UPC sheet to check this

Q: What if a price doesn't come up? It says "Check shelf tag for pricing".
A: This means that the game was at 90% off, and for some reason it was scheduled to be marked down further. If you have a cool employee, you can get games for cheap. If you have a game with outdated tags, you could be in for a hassle. This is similiar when Target marks things down for salvage.

Q: Are these markdowns YMMV?
A: NO. These are universal nationwide prices. If you arent getting them, its your stores problem and doesnt indicate a larger problem as a whole.

Q: How are things marked down?
A: AFAIK, it can be done manually via gun, or it can be done en masse at the register. If you want further details, we are currently looking for a CAG to take one for the team and get a job at K-Mart to infiltrate and learn their secret methods.

Q: What games will drop further?
A: As a GENERAL RULE, games at 1.00, 1.50, 2.00, 3.00, 4.00 are at 90% off AND WILL NOT DROP FURTHER. Games ending in .99 will drop 2 bucks at a time in random intervals.

Q: What do I do with all these games?
A: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...ad.php?t=95481
Well i gas up $45 & now i'm about 30% full so i say about $15...Not bad for an SUV...

Anyway also stop by a bunch of Sears & Targets...Was able to pick up Taiko Drum Master which made the whole trip awesome...3 out 4 Sears i went to didn't even sell games
If its 30% FULL, then that means that you USED 70% and therefore it cost $31.50... unless you meant that it was 30% empty/70 full...

#-ohaha i guess my math & english skills needs work...Yeah, i spent about $30 in gas...Still i was able to pick up 2 Taiko's, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Party 5, & a bunch cheap games to flip...Well worth the drive...

Maybe i should go back to skool :dunce:

I really hope Mario Golf GC drops again, my store has 7 copies of it. I know its already clearanced to 8 bucks but i dunno if its worth that.
I really hope Mario Golf GC drops again, my store has 7 copies of it. I know its already clearanced to 8 bucks but i dunno if its worth that.
It's a good game, definitely worth $8 if you have enjoyed the other Mario Golf titles. However, since it has been at $8 for so long without being bought you should probably just wait for the next drop.

What about Final Fantasy Chronicles? I paid $8, should i just return it back & hope for a price drop? I bought 3 & the value for EB was only $4...

I believe all the 8 dollar nintendo games will be dropped sooner or later. My friend was in the store earlier today and said the older lady who works in the electronics department was slowly walking around with the clearance + scanner guns hopefully this means the drops will be soon

I found an awesome score today... tons and tons of E-Reader cards, regular one, Animal Crossing ones, you name it, they had it, at least 50 - 55 sets of cards.

They came up price required, the old woman cashier called the manager who said "We can't sell these, sorry", who then turns to the cashier and tells her to remove them from the floor.

The manager wouldn't even listen to reason, just that under no circumstance are they allowed to sell them.

This store has a TON of games that come up Price Req'd but I guess they are just going to go into the stockroom for all eternity.

That sucks...where was it, just out of curiosity? It must have been outside of Pinellas. I got some great scores down in Venice, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers and Naples when I went to a conference on Marco Island with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago. :D

Those probably went out of the system at 30 cents. I picked up a bunch at that price a couple months ago. No AC ones but Mario, Pokemon and NES.

I stopped by K-mart again last night. It was the one with all of the Mario Party 4/Wavebird bundles. Luckily the teenage guy was working there and he sold me another one for $7. It's in my TL.

I also picked up SoulClalibur II for the PS2 for $2. Not bad.

If you think that is bad, listen to this...

I was at a K-mart in Rosedale, NY (Queens) and I found a bunch of cool game that were marked down. I guess they had just gone through their inventory, because all of the clearance games were clearly marked with neon green price tags giving their correct prices right on the front of the games. They had a couple of Simpsons road rages, a couple of Zeldas, and like 5 Advent Risings for $5. I asked the clerk to come open the case for me and she does, so far so good... Then the trouble starts...

Advent Rising rings up price required, (I picked up 4 of them) the neon green price tag clearly says "clearence $5.00" she goes "I have to call the manager."
The manager comes over, and goes "Oh it's marked $5 that must be a mistake... Video games cost $50 not $5..."

I say "Sir, the games are on clearance, which is why you guys put the sticker on there..."

He says "Maybe but not these, their price is $50, because that's the price under the stickers (As he proceeds to peel back 2-3 layers of mark down sticker prices...)

I go back a week later, and see them back on the shelf, marked up at $20, when I ask a different clerk about some other games, the original clerk who just happened to be there, runs up and say "These games aren't for sale, because we don't know the prices!"

Insane... And to top it off, Feel the Magic rang up as $16...

That store is off of my list...

When I was down in Toledo visiting one of my girlfriends i stopped off at a Kmart and got:
PSX One LCD Screen $5.00 (i was stoked)
Feel the Magic $3
Tiger Woods DS $3
Siren PS2 $1
They also had 5 copies of WindWaker for $8, im gonna wait and hopefully pick it up for cheaper next time i go back there

And it looked like some of the clearance games were marked further down like Marc Eckos game was cheaper then the list says so was Psychonauts (even though i got it from CC for $5) has there been another price drop?

Nope, my friend, it was the 34th Street South K-Mart. They are in this glass case across from the main game case's.. there was about 100 E-Reader cards in there, no joke, and two E-Reader's also!

The manager, Gloria, put a stop to it pretty fast. Not for sale! I tried to plead with her but she wasn't hearing it.

This same store has tons of GBA games and like 5 Eye Toy Groove's with no camera that are all out of the system.

Damn, I guess they put out some stuff from the back room. The last time I was in there, they had maybe 15-20 e-reader cards. It's probably no use going back at a different time, either - the other manager you might deal with is a guy named Frank, and he's a total bastard.

To Jiggadabaptist, what they are doing is ILLEGAL, if the price sticker says 5$ then they have to sell it to you at 5$ no matter what price it scans in the register, if it was me i would have called them out on it and even threatened to call the police because a retail store cannot pull a bait and switch like that on you. If they already pulled the stickers off there should be a video tape in loss prevention showing the entire thing.

If the games they dont know the price of are on the floor, then you should be able to get them to sell them to you for something, or else they shouldnt be there. I dont think they can say they arent allowed to sell it to you because they dont know the price.

K-Mart, like any other store, can sell what they want for how much they want.

This is NOT bait and switch. Bait and switch is when you replace the product, not change the price. If you went through all the hassle of getting a game out of the case and they ring you up for 5 dollars but say "Oh no, this is a display game. I can't sell you this, would you like Catwoman for the same price?", that would be bait and switch. There's no switching when they don't honor the price tag.

When you shop at store that are staffed by retards, you get retarded service. K-Mart just isn't worth the hassle of getting a couple dollars off a game I can find at the numerous other stores in the area.

He used to be my boss when I worked at the 66th Street K-Mart... yea, I could see how he comes off like that. In all honesty, he dosen't know ANYTHING about the computer system AT ALL so I wouldn't expect him to be any help.

The rumor around the store was that he didn't even know how to operate a register.

Then how is he the friggin boss?!?!?!?
Then how is he the friggin boss?!?!?!?
He's not the store manager, just a regular manager. He's been there for years, I think at least 25 - 30, and just didn't keep up with the changing technology.

The guy is built like a tank though and never ever takes a lunch or a break the entire 10 + hours he is there, I never once saw him stop working.... he's also like 75 or so and I've seen him construct entire sections of the store by himself.

Basacially he gets physical labor shit done really fast and they would just field questions to other managers. He actually hated stopping to deal with customers because it took time away from physical labor, so yea, I definitely see how Elmyra thought of him as a bastard, heh.

And at K-Mart, once you're promoted to something like manager and you've been there for 15 + years they just don't let you go.

You're right, it's not bait and switch, but it some jurisdictions it can be illegal. The poster lives in New York and I know several counties there have laws imposing fines if the scanned price is higher than the tagged price.

When I dealt with him, he was wearing a tag that said something like "training manager," which makes it extra funny if he doesn't know the registers. I thought he was a jerk because he was so abrupt; he seemed pretty much disgusted to be asked to help a customer (like you said), and just kind of waved his hand dismissively and told the clerk to override the price to whatever the sticker said. I tried to explain the whole clearance thing to him, and he walked away as I was talking without even acknowledging me.

I know what you mean about the labor thing, though. One day recently I was in there and he was slapping up shelving for the Christmas displays at a crazy pace.

If you find a prosecutor or county official with the time and energy to prosecute, I'll support that 100%. It's absolutely ridiculous to have merchandise on the floor that can't be sold to the public but in the end, K-Mart's losing the money. No wonder Sears bought them out.

The man is a tank, what's even more amazing is that he's like this even after he's had a heart attack, I think. For being his age he is in crazy shape, he would go outside and get carts and literally sweep the lot in under 5 min. He was always abrupt like that... I remember saying hello or goodbye to him and you'd never really get more than two words out of him. Like I said, he never took a lunch break, never took a break period, and barely talked to this own staff. I think he drives something like an hour and a half just to get to work, even further now because he's at the 34th S store.

But yea, he hates customers, you probably caught him at a time when the other manager was busy so he had to help. I remember whenever he had to help a customer who was complanining he'd get pretty pissed that he'd off to go off track on making displays... espically Electronics stuff, since he dosen't know the slightest thing about that.

But yea, he dosen't know the computers at all, I never once saw him at the back office ever using one of the computers. I remember one time I needed a manager above me to do something I couldn't access, and they said I'd have to wait because it was only him and he had no clue how to work the computer.

Sears didn't buy them out, K-Mart bought Sears, this has been dragged through the mud again and again.

^^ Yes k-mart bought out sears.
My kmart has a bunch of the $2 titles. To bad my FYE supposedly isn't doing the trade in deal. Donkey Konga 1 rang up for $38. I did manage to get a zelda 4 swords for $2.

Oooops, got mixed up. Thanks for pointing that out for me.

Well, it's not that sort of "crime". it's just a fine. Usually jurisdictions with laws like that have inspectors who do random checks and have the power to levy fines. In New York they're tiny, something like $50 per violation. Other jurisdictions may be higher.

Yeah, that's true. But do you think an inspector will go through the hassle of getting a game out of the case to just check to see if it's priced correctly.

The least you could do is mention the sears policy where if an item scans higher than the price tag, you get the price on the tag plus an extra 5$ off and if the item costs under 5$ you get it free. At least that's the sears policy here. The kmart here promotes sears credit cards heavily but has not yet converted to a sears essentials store, so maybe kmart has to follow sears policies.

An inspector or secret shopper would probably go for random items in the store, they might take something out of the games case but who knows what it would be.

Usually mentioning something is illegal will scare them off enough to change the price, and i believe where i live it is illegal to do what was done here. Because when i worked at kmart someone had priced a bunch of board games wrong, and because of that they had to give all the customers who were buying them the price on the sticker, usually sticker prices at stores here are not questioned, i have never had a problem getting something for the sticker price even if it scanned up wrong at any store. Basically if your shopping here and something has a 5$ price tag on it but it scans up 10$ you get it for 5$.

You're all assuming that K-Mart employees know the law as well as their standard operating procedures. Seeing as they don't know shit about their own standards, I don't see how they're going to know a law that might not even apply to them. It's much easier for them to say that they can't sell it which then applies to another statute saying that a company can deny sale to anyone for any reason. They're not saying you can't buy the game because you're gay, black, or martian. They're just saying that the system is messed up and it's not worth their job to sell a game at what could be 90+% off.

In the FW grocery coupon forum (while it lasted) there was talk of a standard practice to bring a cell phone w/ the corporate offfices' numbers saved.

I knew one lady who ended up knowing people at walmart corporate rather well, calling from the checkout lane, confirming a policy, and handing the phone to the cashier/manager with, "Dave wants to talk to you".

Once she was told she was "banned" from a store for taking advantage of a deal. She went out to the parking lot, called corporate. The told her they would call the store. She waited 10-15 minutes, than walked back into the store. The manager that had banned her and chewed her out had turned 180 degrees, and was all "How can we help you Mrs. M?" "would you like any assistance Mrs. M?" "Would you like some coffee Mrs. M?"

I'd love to hear some more stories like that on here regarding game deals....

K-Mart dosen't follow Sears policies.

I don't get it, there was a Kmart that became a Sears Grand here. So I'm guessing Sears bought Kmart.

Anyway, when is the October drops or did they already start?

Again, like I just said, K-Mart bought Sears, this is FACT. I'm not sure where people are getting this misconception from, because Sears was worse off than K-Mart.

http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~arlen/sue.html

Some K-Mart's converted to Sears simply because Sears does not carry the stigmata associated with the K-Mart name.

Kmart emerged from bankruptcy just 18 months ago and not long ago looked like a candidate for the dust bin, but Kmart has been generating strong profits in recent months while Sears continues to languish.

The startling acquisition was engineered by Kmart Chairman Edward Lampert, the largest single shareholder in Sears. He holds about 15% of Sears stock through his ESL Investments Inc

Okay thanks for clearing that up, Roufuss.
It just seemed strange to me that it happend that Kmart as a corporation would make a move and change some of their store's names because of recent bankruptcy as opposed to a a new Kmart look or something Kmart related, if they are doing fine overall.

My family and i had an awful experience at sam's club recently, it is a legitimate complaint, now keep in mind sams club is a store that you pay to belong to, for those that dont know, its not just an anyone can walk in store, and yes we actually pay for the membership.

We normally dont buy a lot of stuff in sams club, we are a family of 4 and dont eat ourselves to death here (lol). One day when we were walking through and sampling the different foods, one of the sample ladies whose name i will not mention here made a very rude comment, she said something like "oh only one bag of chips again this week" referring to the fact that we had just started our shopping and had only one bag of chips in the basket at the time. For what reason she was pissed off at us i do not know, we never have done anything in that store to offend anyone. We have also had rude comments made at us by the people working the demo's before, again for what reason i do not know. The lady working did not know that my mother heard the comment that she spoke to another worker. Yes we are sure she was referring to us as we were the only ones around with one bag of chips in the basket.

My mother who pays for the membership to sams club got really angry about this, so we went up to the service desk and asked for the manager, ordinarily i dont think she would care, but this is a club we pay 40$+ a month to belong to, and we certaintly do not pay that money to be ridiculed by the store employees for being there.

We calmly explained the situation first to the service desk manager, and then to another manager, i am not sure who he was, both were really nice to us. They told us that the store does not lose any money on the demo food products, and that the company that makes the food pays sams club to demo the food. All we were doing is eating the samples so we did not do anything wrong, and there are no signs that limit the amount of samples a member can take. We also told them that we are not going to renew our membership ever again if the rudeness of the employees keeps up, and we have been a member of sams club for about 12 years now. They also told us that the workers should not say things like that about the customers. Basically standard stuff.

Over a month has passed and we have not seen that person who made the comment working there anymore. Now everyone in the store is really nice to us too!

Having the customer service phone numbers on your phone if you know them would be a good way to take care of things, the company or store would not know there is a problem unless someone complaints, if they dont know there is a problem it cannot be fixed, it would be good especially if you were having a problem with management at a certain store, and if it was a frequent problem, other than that its probably a bit excessive to have customer service phone numbers for every retail store in your area in your cell phone.

Well I stopped into the Kmart where the girl let me scan games before, and she gave me the gun and let me do it again. I'm sorry to say that there are no new price drops yet, at least at this store. I've been to a few others and all the prices I've checked are still current with the OP list. Maybe they aren't dropping this month?

I found a copy of Galactic Wrestling for the ps2. I price scanned it and it rang up as check shelf price, most unfortunate. This particular Kmart had quite a few games like that, all stickered at $14.99. Bastards. You know damn well that's what they'd charge you for the games too. Most unfortunate.

is there anything at your kmart's that is still worth getting - even with the pending drop? my kmarts are pretty much cleaned out.

the only game worth getting was nbs street 2 for the GC, $8. otherwise all clearance stuff was still in the 25-40 range. I asked the guy there, and he said he had a bunch of $5 clearance games last week, and corp. told him to mark them regular price again, which surprised him.

looks like my days of checking out kmart are done.

My local Kmart(MOOSIC, PA) still has a proverbial buttload of copies of the Namcomuseum and Pacman World 2 for xbox games in stock.

Of course, this is the same store that had copies of F-Zero GX and SRS Street Racing for GC(from the last clearance) and a couple copies of Eyetoy Groove(w/o cam) still in stock.

I was hoping they had the copies of Namcomuseum marked down to $1 as someone else on here mentioned already, but no dice.

They also still had 1-2 copies of KOTOR for Xbox in stock, last time I checked.
