Unfortunately, they've already soured a large portion of people from their website, probably for good.

And that's just with the acquisition of Wombat!

My little brother was in the middle of drawing a hat for homework and it reminded me of ck's drawing of lilboo

For good? Where else will they go? If they're already established at UGO, and there's one less good place to go, they're just gonna grumble for a bit and then settle back down.

And they actually didn't re-sign wombat. Once his contract is done, he's gone as a blogger there.
Well, I think you have to look at something like the ugo blog and be like, why the hell are we paying people to repost what's already on 1UP (and Kotaku and Joystiq)
Yep.
I think they just want to promote themselves, their brand. They don't want to be 1up 2.0, they want to be UGO.

Thanks.
Dang, I think this was the first EGM I ever bought, instead of just reading it from cover to cover at the grocery store.

Single-handedly got me to get a Dreamcast. I really hope I've still got it in a box somewhere.

Damn... you were late in the game.

This guy has a good write up on how I feel about PoP but couldn't really convey:

Let me knock out FES and ICO first.

I'm gonna either need a monitor with component inputs (which I might end up getting when I start getting paychecks at my new job) or a VGA cable though.

I think the first issue of EGM I ever bought was the first preview of MK3. I think it even had shit for Alpha before they knew the name.

Finally beat Dead Space. Awesome game, cant wait for the sequel. Wasnt as scary as everyone was making it out to be but there were a few shat your pants moments.

Anyone see the prequel movie for it? Worth a rental?

Huh...my first EGM was the one after the Dreamcast one, if memory serves. (I was laid up from a car accident in August of 99...and I started reading EGM about then, because I couldn't even play games at the time.)

Although, I had a few issues of Electronic Games from the 80s. I remember I had a Christmas issue that had a parody of "Twelve Days of Christmas" and the last line went "And a lifetime sub to EG." (I have no idea why I remember this...)

And Jesus Christ - what happened outside? Took me two hours to get home from the in-laws tonight because everything is covered with black ice. Freeways closed, accidents everywhere...and I didn't even see a single salt truck (or salt) anywhere...

From what I read of the plot, it's not that much different than the digital comic videos that are free on PSN/XBL, so just watch those instead to see what happened before Isaac got to the ship.
I wish I had Frosted Flakes right now. :/

What's the matter, no peanut butter or pickles around?

I did.

Best case, it goes through, we all make $500.

Worst case scenario, they charge $500, and then you can take it to the bank.

Really worst case scenario, we all go to prison, and become Little Cubs.

I keep getting free issues of EGM that i don't remember signing up for. They've even called and asked if i want to subscribe, i tell them no, but they keep sending me free issues.

I think i see why they're in trouble.

Got an email confirming the order for $0.00.

They can't charge a CC more than you've authorized, so getting charged $500 isnt possible

No authorization yet, but would they do it for nothing?

Wouldn't they have to tell us they changed the price before charging us?

I'd be super fucked if they just surprise charged us, seeing as how I don't have anywhere near $500 in my account.

Edit: manthing cleared that up. I thought that was the case.

I've been charged more than I've authorized by online retailers.

Right, which is why it's the worst case scenario. Extremely unlikely to happen.

But that's a really good question. The thing is, since it's not a pre-order, as these price mistakes so often are, I feel like there is an OK chance of them going through. Whether or not there's an authorization, though, that's definitely something that we'll just have to wait and see.

That's kinda shitty.

I guess I can tell my bank I didn't authorize a $500 charge, so I'd only really be inconvenienced for a few days.

Free money.

Somehow, not only will all of you get your orders, then they'll just tax us more to make up for it.

And then some. Because that's how I'd run the government. Slush funds gotta come from somewhere, right?
