Ugh. I guess I will have call Time Warner later tonight if I have the time. My internet has been running ridiculously slow the past two days. I am pretty sure it isn't just on my end because my friend a few apartments down has been getting the same issue.

Well, since cable is like a giant trough... if there are a bunch of kids in your apartments running torrents night and day, it's going to sap the hell out of whatever bandwidth is coming -- so it might not be your end, but it might be your complex.
 
Yeah just seems weird that I was getting like 27 Mbps 3 days ago and now I am getting like 0.79 Mbps. I highly doubt that bandwidth usage increased that much overnight.

Also I thought the unique thing about cable was that you were not effected by the people around you...

DSL is the "not affected by everyone around you".

You should've seen the ridiculous speeds my friend would get when Optimum Online first became available to him. I believe it's gotten bad enough now, with all the additional subscribers in the past... 5 or so years... that he's ditched OptOnline and converted to DSL -- because he's getting similar speeds but paying 1/2 price.

I still find that hard to believe, my dad's Verizon DSL sucks balls on nights/weekends but is lightening fast during the day.

EDIT: Nope...Football practice tonight. Oh well...Uncharted 3 will be out in 2012.

Well, the question there is "who else is using the DSL in the house" and "how far from the hub is the house" -- because, as far as I understand it, the further away from the hub you are, the slower your top up/down speeds. And If you're operating at 1/4 the speed of cable (or whatever the rate is) and you have nobody home during the day, but other family members are home at night and they all start doing things on the network, that would explain it. Unless there's something funky with the way lines are run to the houses around there.

You would think so, but both of the TRU near my house were out (nor did they carry Demons Souls, but I expected that). I ended up going two blocks down to GS and just bought Demons Souls.

I love that new game/dvd smell.

I had a drowning dream too. I saw a girl walking her dog on the bank of a creek and she fell in with the dog falling on top of her. For some reason the dog just stayed there, pinning her down to the bottom of the creek. So I go rushing over to move the dog to save the girl but she's down too deep and I can't break the surface of the water cause I just float. So I get my brother who was standing next to me to hold my ankles to push me down to the bottom but I still cant reach the girl. I then start trying to signal my brother to lift me back out of the water but my arms go dead and he doesn't get the signal and he just leaves me down there as I drown .. and then I woke up gasping for air.
 
Well I feel the interview went well. It's not an industry I particular care to be in but the job sounds easy doing reverse engineering CAD drawings of these machines they are wanting to design better.

They said I would know their decision by the end of the week.
