Nice. By the way, Brak, I've never really understood the difference between White Zombie and Rob Zombie. Can you elaborate?
Well, White Zombie was a band, and Rob Zombie, while it is a band, is considered his solo project. Essentially, White Zombie was 100% Rob Zombie's vision, as is - naturally - the Rob Zombie act.
Strangely, though, White Zombie broke up the minute the band got wind of Geffin records wanting Rob Zombie to release a solo side-project.
Beyond that, in terms of sound, White Zombie and Rob Zombie are quite different. White Zombie's early work, from the late '80s, sounds like garage metal (!?), lacks the extremely hi-fi production that their later work is known for, and just sounds completely different.
White Zombie's first mainstream release is straight-up metal, with tinges of weirdness, film audio samples and slightly tongue-in-cheek (which will become a consistent theme to his music, from here on out).
Their second, and last, mainstream release is very hi-fi, film sample heavy, a hybrid of metal, hard rock and disco and insanely weird. Elements of murder, horror, sci-fi, 1970s, crime, murder and everything and anything else strange you can think of.
Their last album, Astro-Creep: 2000, is one of the best albums ever recorded, in my opinion. The remix album of Astro-Creep: 2000, which is called Supersexy Swingin' Sounds, is stand-alone incredible... which is odd, because most remix albums suck dick.
