Keep in mind, the ones that dropped, Leaf Green and Fire Red, are nothing but glorified versions of Red and Blue, which came out in 1998.
... hooray! Eight years after the fact Nintendo finally decided to drop the price!
I'd actually be angry about this if these weren't such incredible games. I've played through Red/Blue about 10 times. What's another $15 after GGC for a trot down memory lane?
I don't know if "glorified versions" is justified here...there was a LOT of content and features added, even if a good deal of those debuted in Gold/Silver or Ruby/Sapphire.
Either way, I got a copy of Fire Red months ago because Game Rush gave an absurd amount of trade-in for a copy of King of Fighters: Maximum Impact that I paid $10 for.
So the only difference between FireRed/LeafGreen and Ruby/Sapphire is that Leaf and Fire are remakes of the Gameboy Red and Blue? Well, that's the one I want! FireRed to be exact, just because of the coverart and name.
So then what's the deal with Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald? Are those 3 sort of a different world from Leafgreen and Firered?
Separate world, but you can trade Pokemon between the two games once you get deep (as in almost to the end) into Red or Green.

Actually, it's been $20 since release at Best Buy.
