Agreed. The Wii U, no matter how much anyone boasts about its library of AAA games, seems well headed to being one of the most commercially irrelevant pieces of hardware the videogame industry has seen, and all signs point to it having a shorter lifespan than the Sega Dreamcast (another great console to some, and even that had significantly better third-party support). If your interested in any Wii U games and they are cheap I would grab them. The system is going to sell less then the Gamecube hence games are going to be even harder to find in the long run if there is any demand.
Yeah I was kicking myself after passing up on excellent condition copies of Pikmin 3 and Lego City Undercover at a local Half Price Books ($30 each). I should of just bought them either way, could of returned them later...I was lucky enough to find a used copy of Pikmin 3 over the weekend. Had to drop $50 on it, but that wasn't unreasonable, and it was in decent condition.
Yeah, both of those games are evergreen. They'll be possible to buy for as long as the Wii U is on store shelves. You won't have trouble finding them any time soon. I've been waiting on getting Splatoon, but it's looking like it might end up being another one of those games that gets consistent support, so it probably won't be going away anytime soon either.I still don't have MK8 or SMB, but those have sold well enough that second hand copies won't be too hard to find down the road.
Wii U has already practically doubled the lifespan of my dearly departed Dreamcast. Dreamcast released on 9/9/99 and was discontinued in spring 2001. Wii U is a month away from having been on the market for 3 years.Agreed. Even if you go by the Japenese release, which was November 98 (2 years 4 months), the Wii U has surpassed that.Wii U has already practically doubled the lifespan of my dearly departed Dreamcast. BingoWhat people seem to forget is that Nintendo is still making money, even in 3rd place. Sure they'd like to be first and are disappointed, but as long as they're making money they can afford to take their time and ride out the Wii U a bit longer.
It's sold out on bestbuy.com as well and no best buy stores are carrying it. My GameStop only got one copy in stock, and I bought it.... Haven't played it yet.I know the game has only been out for a day, but as of this posting only Gamestop.com has Devil's Third for shipping. My Amazon order was delayed by a day and It's not even availble to be sold/shipped through Amazon.com anymore. This has the *potential* to be the lowest shipped first party Nintendo title in awhile. The game is not as bad as everyone says and the online is legit, but it is hard to justify the $60 price tag. Wish I got in on the dell.com $30 deal.
Yeap still sold out everywhere except Gamestop.com, hell no US sellers right now on eBay.It's sold out on bestbuy.com as well and no best buy stores are carrying it. My GameStop only got one copy in stock, and I bought it.... Haven't played it yet.
I heard it's quite a good game outside of the loading times. I don't think it will get another print, Nintendo seems to not care much for more prints especially with Wii U titles.I'd like to pick up the Lego City Undercover game, but I haven't seen any copies of it used around. I've heard that it's one of the better Lego titles and I am always looking to expand my Wii U library with exclusive titles.
This doesn't particularly matter to me. I'm not such a rabid collector that I feel the need to have "complete" runs of games for particular systems. I'm mainly interested in rare games with critical merit, or have something interesting about their design. I made certain to pick up a copy of Pikmin 3 and Lego City: Undercover because they are good games. By most accounts Devil's Third is a stinker. I won't be losing any sleep over it if I don't ever get a copy.Devils Third is sold out everywhere online.
With you on that. Curiosity makes me want to play it, but the reviews make clear there's very little of merit/good design here to justify the trek/hunt to get it. I like rare games, too, but usually it's rare AND good or fun. This seems to be neither, so I'm fine skipping it.This doesn't particularly matter to me. I'm sure I'll come across Lego City used sometime soon. I think I may actually check a few of my local used game shops for a copy soon.I heard it's quite a good game outside of the loading times. Devils Third is sold out everywhere online. There are 10 stores in my state that have a few copies (Gamestop) once those are dried out that means Nintendo is going to have to do another run. With the ability to sell games digitally on the eShop It's going to take more persuasion for Nintendo to do another run of copies. You figure in 5k Gamestops between US/Canada, 400+ copies from their online store, Amazon, Dell etc. you are looking at a game that got under 10,000 for a print (9,000?) you have to wonder if Nintendo is really gonna bother.
10k copies + $30 profit each copy would be 300,000 for Nintendo. A decent chunk of change but would obviously have to guarantee a sellout at $55-$60 a pop. Granted I'm no expert on the amount Nintendo would make off each unit sold, I'd say even more since It's first party (What did Itagaki get out of the deal? They also got to do the free to play PC version out in spring/summer eventually).
This should be a relief for anyone looking to get some of these harder-to-find games. It doesn't really affect me, as I already have all of the games they're listing. But most of them are solid titles, so I'm pleased. It's better that these titles be accessible without having to hunt for them. Ocarina of Time for the 3DS is another title that people will probably be pleased to get at a reasonable price.Pikmin 3 (plus several other titles) is being re-released under the "Nintendo Selects" brand next month.
Huge relief. RIP those who flipped to pay for college tuition lolPikmin 3 (plus several other titles) is being re-released under the "Nintendo Selects" brand next month.

It might. It is a first-party Nintendo title, after all. But I wouldn't hold my breath. As I recall, it wasn't quite as critically acclaimed when it came out, and I'm not sure there is nearly as much demand for that title as there are for others. Still, it's not impossible. No way is Game and Wario getting a reprint.
It's certainly possible, but I don't see it. Commercially, the game was a disaster, and critically, well, you said it. There's no demand for this game. I can't even recall the last time a console Wario ever got a reprint and I'm fairly certain no Wario game has ever gotten the Nintendo Selects treatment. It might.
