[PC] The Indie Gala Thread

Damn almost missed out on this one, even if only want Showtime! (and it's been cheaper in a bundle but...meh this one has a bunch of other games with cards at least). Reviews seem pretty decent and apparently the dev did a couple games over at Osiris while it was around (remember hearing good things about Bestseller I think).

Interested to check out Game Tycoon 1.5 or whatever that one is called, just because it's been a long time since I played a bad strategy/sim game (think the last was Chart Wars 2 but not sure).

Next time just go Oh darn, I only want Showtime and someone might actually give you their extra to save you from buying a crappy bundle that they bought anyway because they lack both sense and willpower. Hypothetically, of course.

Meh, I don't own most of the games and can get some of it back with idling cards =p. To be honest if it wasn't for a bunch of the games having cards I'd probably gone, "Eh, Showtime will be in another bundle so **** this bundle."

I ended up getting a Steel Warz bundle pack. Just shoot me a PM if you'd like to split the cost. :) taken

BTW, it looks like you might still be able to get two for the price of one (the timer seems to be glitched).

Oh darn, I only want Game Tycoon 1.5. (Did I do that right?)

Bundle is up

1.49 gets you:

Words for Evil

Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory
Luna: Shattered Hearts: Episode 1
Save the Furries
Basketball Pro Management Sim 2014
Dwarf Tower

Hm. Missing Save the Furries, Basketball Sim and Dwarf Tower.

Not sure those 3 are worth it though, meh. Might skip it like I did with last Monday's.

Curious about basketball sim, but being it isn't by Wolverine Studios pretty sure it's awful (couldn't see reviews on my phone). DDS (draft day sports) basketball series are the only basketball Sims I've ever heard being good.

Basically if a sports sim isn't made by: Gray Dog, Wolverine, Sports Interactive, sometimes Cyanide, OOTP, and probably one I'm forgetting; then the game is probably bad.

This one's published by Cyanide, I think.

I kind of want it for Sugar Cube, Dwarf Tower, and Words for Evil. Being willing to work out some sort of deal.
Can't work out a deal quite this second, but if you don't work out a deal with anyone else by the time I get home, I'll shoot you a Steam message.

Hmm tough one... taking a look at what I don't already have:

  • Luna: Shattered Hearts: Episode 1 - Negative reviews, but the developer has posted a list of fixes that he believes will address most of the complaints, and has given it a March release. Seems interesting otherwise.
  • Save the Furries - Mixed reviews. The gameplay videos don't help it much. Bleh.
  • Basketball Pro Management Sim 2014 - Looks to be pretty resoundingly hated by all.
  • Dwarf Tower - Positive comments. I like what I see.

Two maybes and two blehs. The price is right, but this looks like a pass.

The reviews are filled with regret for purchasing.

Hmm. If IsThereAnyDeal's bundle list is complete for these games, it seems like I missed/skipped the bundles Words For Evil (Mixer 14, Monday 25), Dwarf Tower (BAGB 9), and Luna (Mixer 10, Friday 5) were in.

So I'll host a group buy for this if there are four other people interested ($1.27/bundle), since only Sugar Cube looks like a repeat for me.

Think I saw it was co-published by them or something *shrugs*, reviews seem pretty bad and I know in the PCM community Cyanide is seen as okay (why I said sometimes =p). Most of Cyanide's game they developed though are at least decent, not sure on the published front.

One I forgot (besides the one I edited in, which was a such a glaring oversight I'm embarrassed to admit it) is Solecismic, who got Front Office Football 7 greenlit apparently. Be great to see Wolverine or Grey Dog try and get on steam, but I'm guessing they aren't due to costs/incorporating SDK.

I played a bit of Dwarf Tower after I got in that groupees bundle, it was a cool concept but I felt it was poorly executed. There's no "campaign" or levels, you can either skirmish against the computer or other players. From what little I played it didn't seem to be very well balanced either, it felt kind of half baked.

God damn, IndieGala, you're even holding DRM-free free games hostage behind social media walls now?

I may not mind DRM-free, but there are lines even I won't cross. :nottalking:

Is it buy 5 get 6 for you?

what happened to the blades of janus bundle?  I don't see it on the site anymore.  Did they ever unlock games or just remove it from the site?

Fist of Jesus unlocked for the Janus bundle....just to give clarification. Great now I feel lame for going for a higher tier in that Weekly Humble bundle. Not a bad looking if not amazing bundle so far.
Eh, it's been in two bundles so far, it's bound to turn up in more. The Janus bundle has nothing else going for it.

Yeah, this is only the second of probably 20+ bundle appearances for Fist Of Jesus.

Indie Gala will probably be giving it away for free by the end of the year.

I kept thinking of getting the humble with fist of jesus until someone mentioned that it's a KISS game. Glad I waited now, but I didn't expect it to hit gala so soon.
