told ya so..

people will still hate it though, no matter how good it is. It's going to have a much slower pace then most people will want.

Aren't you supposed to hate the game? I think the saying goes "don't hate the playa, hate the game, BIATCH!!!!" or something like that...

Wow. If it "is the best FPS since Halo 2," it must be pretty terrible. I guess for console players it's something of a solace, but damn.

Color me skeptical, considering that as of yesterday, IGN at least, didn't even have review copies, and that's never a good sign. A glowing OFFICIAL Xbox mag review counts for exactly nothing in my book.
OXM......biased? Nah :) I hope its good though but I'm gonnahave o see what IGN and Gamespot review it at. 8.5 and up I'll buy it.
thats what i was just thinking, its OXM

Actually, if you look at OXM's scores they generally are pretty close to what other websites and publications think on most releases. They aren't as biased as most people think.

I rather wait to read a review from a Non-Xbox Magaizen

Should be noted that OXM gave 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies' a 8.2/10 and 'Conker: Live and Reloaded' a 8/10.

So ya, their review means dick, also its going to be kind of hard to see any one who has been hypeing this game up to actually give it a bad review, cause if they were to give it a bad review it would make them look pretty stupid since they were the ones hypeing it up.

PDZ was a last minute addition to the launch day titles. For the longest time they were calling it a "before Christmas" game, so there is no wonder you don't see more reviews. With that said, IGN is dumb, you could buy PDZ at the stores on Wednesday, and some even had them as early as Tuesday.

with that said, your dumb... they get copies from Rare you tool thats why they're worried. I'm j/p around about you being dumb, but they dont go out and buy games and review them, they're supplied by the publisher or developer early because they know that reviews matter to people. So rare not supplying a reviewable Gold build or final build is a little scary for a game that is supposed to be "HALO 2 KILLER RAWR"

I actually enjoy OXM. I don't think they're that far off. It's not like every game they review is high just because it's Xbox. It's all relative. They're only reviewing Xbox games, so obiously that they're not comparing so much to PS or Nintendo titles, only within the system. Still, several of their highest ranked games (PoP, Ninja Gaiden, SC:CT) are not microsoft, or even exclusive games.

Bottem line is every reviewer has biases based on what he/she likes. There's not a reviewer one that I can honestly say I've never dissagreed with at some point. If you don't like shooters, you won't like the next big shooter, regardless of how good it is. I'm pleased to see at least one good sign towards PDZ. And I'm very anxious to see teamxbox, IGN, and gamespot's reviews added...

cool.

hey wouldn't that be funny if IGN and Gamespot gave it a 0? Cause then, you know, hah, it would be so funny, because you know it's called perfect dark ZERO, HAH!! LOLZ!!!

I'll show myself out.
I actually enjoy OXM.
Which part the 30 pages of articles or the 90 pages of advertisements?? Has anyone checked out the new King Kong issue yet? WTF they've got a 32 page ad for cell phone games........

Wait, but Halo 2 wasn't good. Maybe best FPS since Halo, or Half-Life 2 or something. Not Halo 2... maybe this is as over-hyped as Halo 2 and it's a misprint?

I never got hooked into Halo like pretty much everyone else in the world did. Right now my favorite FPS is BF2:MC, if PDZ tops that I'll be very very happy! I also have high hopes for Quake 4 online, I LOVED Quake 3.

Actually I was referring to the 40 pages that talk about what you'll read in the next 30 pages...

What I meant was more to the point that I typically enjoy their reviews and (usually) more or less agree with them.

And I sure am glad they compared it to halo 2 so we can all revisit that review flame war...

LOL!!!!

I just counted the pages and not counting those thick paper insert sheets which I ripped out as soon as I got the mag it has about 86 pages of ads and 52 pages of actually info/glossary/etc/etc. The page numbers are screwed up because of the cell phone ad, it shows 104 pages.
Wait, but Halo 2 wasn't good. Maybe best FPS since Halo, or Half-Life 2 or something. Not Halo 2... maybe this is as over-hyped as Halo 2 and it's a misprint?
One of the +'s said "Colossally addictive on Xbox Live". Kinda like Halo 2, eh?
will you be here all week? ;)
so then I says, I says, Perfect Dark? .....more like Zero! m i rite? m i rite?

:applause:

I don't think PDZ is going to disappoint. Rare has worked real hard on this game. The last PD was such a good game I can't imagine them delivering a less than par game after the years of development that went into this game. My first thought was that Call of Duty 2 would be the best 360 title at launch but now that PDZ is going to make it in time, it looks like PDZ will be the game to get.

Whatever. I'm waiting for the Gamespot review. Those bastards don't cut anyone any slack, and if the game is pure shit, they'll definitely say so.

Except Gamespot's scoring system doesn't go below 1. ;)

I don't know about that, I was reading the Condemmed review and watching the video review and it didn't sound like his comments matched up with the score of 8.0. Sounds like it's a pretty, gritty, atmospheric game with repetitive combat system and average level design. The comments in the review sounded more like a 7ish game to me.

You guys still clinging to this retarded notion that Halo 2 is no good are funny. "THE ENTIRE GAMING MEDIA IS BIASED!"

Yeah, sure.

There are plenty of games I may not like, but I can still tell the difference between something good and something that's crap. I'm not a huge GTA III/VC/SA fan, but I still recognize they are good games.

On topic - no reviews for PDZ (not even from IGN) is definitely not a good sign. I hope this is all for nothing and it turns out good, but this doesn't fill me with a lot of hope.

So I saw the strategy guide today and read a bit about the weapons, and i've gotta say.. i'm completely hyped, 100% to the max on the hyped scale.

Some of the secondary functions that I remember.. scan the area for enemies and they'll show on the radar, create a fake blip on the rader for the enemy so you can sneak up on them (or make multiple fake blips), ricochet shots, laptop guns, holograms, see grenades.. and it goes on and on and on.. it sounds like it's going to be completely and utterly insane and badass on XBox Live.

Um... I own Halo 2. It's crap.

Right, there is nothing redeeming about it at all. The 5 million people who enjoy it must be insane or tasteless.

People think they're edgy when they hate something that "everyone" loves.

With that said, I THINK BREATHING OXYGEN SUCKS!

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. It was just a far lesser game than Halo was, and certainly didn't live up to the hype that it got before it was released. The story was contrived, it poorly coded/overloaded the Xbox (pop-up in a first party game? Come on). In the end, it was just boring.

I loved Halo. I beat that game 5 times or more. Halo 2 just couldn't hold my attention. I was even majorly pumped for it's release. Have never been more diappointed in a game in my life.

That being said, I hope Perfect Dark Zero lives up to everyone's high expectations for it. :)

I guess i too am in the 'edgy' minority with Halo 2. The problem i have is that in every review for that game talks about graphical glitches during cutscenes, or gameplay ( which made my eyes bleed), and the lame cliffhanger story, but then awarded the game a high 9 or whatever. If there are glaring mistakes with a game, that is very apparent to the player. the game does not deserve a hyped up close to perfect score. Since those reviews came out, i basically won't trust the review sites. Gametab will remove scores lower than the average, and falsely boost a games ranking, which just shows that the scores are usually biased. I will buy the 360 ( after at least one price drop) and then rent the game so that i can come up with my own score. Even if it scores like crap, i may still like it. IE voodoo vince, 7.8 from gamespot, Personally i thought it deserved a 8.8 or above.

You bought it for the single player? That was your mistake right there.

Review copies weren't really given out until today, due to the game being late. They actually started pressing discs before the game was certified by MS, if it didn't pass, they would have had to destroy those discs.

That said, I'm waiting on the rest of the reviews, and to see it for myself.
