Persona 3 at B&M

Try checking a Kmart. The one near me still has two in stock. If you're really lucky, it might be on clearance, like that time a guy got his for $12 there.

I just checked out all online store I know of and a lot of local stores and can not find a copy of this game for retail price or lower. The only place I am seeing it is auction sites and Amazon Marketplace for about twice retail. Has anybody had any luck finding a copy recently? Sears doesn't have anything in my area either.
Thanks.

Twice retail? You should be able to do better than on eBay. I was selling a few games bundled, together Persona 3, so I was watching the various auctions for awhile. I saw a lot of 60s and 70s, but not higher than that. Yeah, it is more than retail, which sucks, but if you can't find it in store, you might want to jump on it now, while eBay is flooded with them. Everyone has been buying what they can find in stores and putting them up. Eventually, they will obviously get more rare.
None of my gamestops have it. Was wondering if any other retailers carry it before I order it online and have to wait for it.
I got a new copy at one of my local Gamestops for $50 (although it turned out to be a "gutted" copy much to my surprise.) Not sure if I'm going to keep it yet or not. I figure, as it's already difficult to find, I won't be losing too much if I decide not to play it and get rid of it a bit later.

I got mine copy for $10 at Big Kmart w/ Yellow sticker & it on Glass case. The Manager give it to me for $10. It still sealed on my book shelve. :)

price adjusted or did it ring up that price?

Or merely reprinted, which means their value will plummet.

I have seen them in many B&M stores around here, brand new and used. I have to check K Mart though, how many people found it clearanced there?

From what I understand, Atlus does not reprint their games, which is so many of them are rare and valuable. I have heard the reprint rumors, but from what I gather, it could be a lot of wishful thinking from people who don't want to spend $60+ on eBay. But I am not too familiar with the situation.

Atlus has said in their own forum they will no longer reprint their games.

Disgaea was more of an exception since the game studio (NISA) decided to reprint it.

The only way you will see more Persona 3 is when Atlus eats their words, or when FES hits the stores with Persona 3 game in it.

Aren't you exaggerating? Except for Digital Devil Saga, Nocturne, and Disgaea - all of which have received reprints - no other recent Atlus game has commanded over $60 for a secondhand copy, let alone gone "rare and valuable". At one point, Rhapsody and Persona 2 for the original Playstation fetched high prices, but of course their values tanked when they were reprinted.

That's funny.

Disgaea was reprinted.
Rhapsody was reprinted.
Persona 2 was reprinted.
Trauma Center: Under the Knife was reprinted.

Even if Persona 3 is reprinted down the line, it's unlikely they'll include the hardcover manual and the bonuses in the current edition. A more likely scenario would be a reprint with a typical manual, which will still command a higher premium for original sealed/even complete copies with the material currently included in Persona 3.
Check Sears.com and do a search for your area. You can schedule a pickup and that's exactly how I found mine.
How does the in-store pickup work with Sears? Is it the same as best buy where they will send you an e-mail when your order is ready? Thanks.

Thats how I understand it.

Though they are not always accurate. I tried ordering something (CoD4 the last night of the $39.99 sale) and got an email saying "Sorry, the item was out of stock at your selected store."

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. I placed an order for Persona 3 awhile ago but I never received an e-mail. I was waiting on an e-mail before going to the store, but I guess I can stop by later on tonight.

Just do a search for the game on their site. Then click on the right for "In Store Pickup" and you'll plug in your zip code for the Sears in your area. It'll pop up 3 different stores and if the game is on their shelves or not. If none of those 3 have it in stock click the "Search more stores" link.

I found 3 in San Diego this way. Bought one for myself, one for a friend, and Ebay'd the last one.

Chance of finding Persona 3 new in stores: Slim.

Cost of finding Persona 3 new from Ebay, Amazon Marketplace: ~ $80.

Cost of finding Persona 3 used from Ebay: ~ $60.

Cost of PS2 mod chip: ~ $30.

I know what to do.
I have seen this recently at Fred Meyer stores.
Yes, same here, I see it all the time at Fred Meyer. I don't really care to play the game, but I'm always tempted to buy it just to resell but I'm a lazy bastard and proabably won't. Weird how every other store doesn't have it but Fred Meyer does.

ive seen a couple of them at kmart - all $50 though. Might pick up to hold on to for a while and replace the used one i accidently sold =]

Looks like they have a bunch here at the local stores in the Pittsburgh area based on what it is showing online. Does anyone know of any coupons currently active at Sears/Kmart?

Isn't there a thread for 30% off of games at Sears? Maybe it's a regional one... I can't remember.

I searched the deals forum but didn't find anything.

Where did I say used copy? The TC was looking for it in a B&M store, so I will assume he wants a new copy with everything included. In that case, you will more than likely spend $60+ on eBay.

Don't really know how it is "funny?" I clearly said I am not very familiar with the situation, but this is what I had heard in other threads. If that is humorous to you, well, I'm glad you got a laugh.

I sold two used copies of Persona 3 last week for $65. Hmmm.

I sold two as well, but they were new sealed copies. Maybe I didn't list them right because I only got $65 each for them.

It seems like a conflict of interest for CAG members to be selling games for more than retail. There is no way I will pay more than $50 for this game. I'm not a collector, I'm a gamer. I'll check out a few more places before cracking open my PS2. I haven't been to a Kmart for like 5 years. I guess that is why they may still have it;) Nobody goes there.
I sold two used copies of Persona 3 last week for $65. Hmmm.
I would be very surprised if that still happened a year from now, as it was just recently released and now hard to find in stores. Even if it does sell $60+ then, it's still only one of a handful out of the dozens of games Atlus released to do so.
Isn't there a thread for 30% off of games at Sears? Maybe it's a regional one... I can't remember.
Definitely regional, I picked up my first copy of Persona 3 from Sears not quite two weeks ago at full price.

No luck at Kmart for me. I was on Sears website last night and they said Persona 3 was in stock at the nearest store to me. I've been there and had no luck finding it. I'm thinking of getting it online anyways and going out there. If they don't have it I think I get a 5 dollar coupon.

I figured I'd screw around and throw my 2 copies on ebay while they were hot and somehow scored $90 and $80 shipped...Enough profit for me to buy a 3rd at full price and not feel one bit guilty!

Same here.

Woohoo, found it at a Sears an hour away today. The box was bent at the top where it hangs on that rack though but I just wanted to play it so its not a huge deal to me. First game that I have spent full price for since FFXII came out.
