Persona 4 - $36.99 on Amazon now! (was $34.99)

I preordered awhile ago with supper saver shipping. Up until this morning it had a shipping date of the 15th. But I received an email this afternoon saying it shipped.

I'm pleasantly surprised because when I pre-ordered P3 from Amazon I must have been the last person in the US that Amazon decided to ship it to. I really can't figure out how Amazon prioritizes its shipping.

It must be random. I've been buying a lot of things since BF and it has been a real crapshoot on when they decide to send things out. E.g. Today I received something I ordered on BF. It took that long to get here. On the other hand, I ordered a bunch of things on the days after BF and I received all that stuff last week. Yesterday I ordered a game and I received a shipped email like two hours later, they even sent it UPS even though I picked SSS. Amazon's shipping system is crazy.

Oddly, my two copies of P4, strategy guide, and P4 Official Design Works art book shipped today, but my Social Link Expansion Pack did not. I hope I still get it. I'm pretty sure I pre-ordered it when it first became available, so there's no reason that I shouldn't get it, right?

It was the last thing to ship for me, mine just finally shipped 5 minutes ago.

If you ordered, you'll get it.
So here is a question for you guys. Kind of off topic but kind of not and I know a lot of you will have played DDS1/2. I just purchased DDS1/2 from someone here at CAGer and am now debating if I should jump into P4 right off or wait and play DDS1/2 first. Also have SMT on my backlog......I rented it after the game intially came out and wasnt digging it.....but am thinking of retrying it.

So what order to play things in?

Edit - Ugggg and for RPGs not on the DS with great reviews have Suikoden V as well sitting there......
I'd play Persona 4 first, just because it's new and you bought it at full price. If you backlog it, you'll probably kick yourself because when you do decide to play it, it'll be down to probably 25 bucks.

Persona 3: FES vs 4, from what I've been told, both have good things and bad things. Most reviews say that Persona 4 made some things of 3 better, and some things worse. Therefore, gameplay wise, I doubt you'll notice a huge difference switching between the two.

As for Nocturne, it's an excellent game, personally I hate playing 2 of the same game in a series back to back. All your call though. Just play DDS in order. Nocturne or P3 is my favorite though.

You'll get it.
I pre-ordered my Social Link Expansion Pack way back in early October though.

My copy finally ended up shipping today with Prime, is already in Columbus, and is out for delivery tomorrow. Lulz. I just hope it comes tomorrow morning and not at night because I need to visit my boyfriend in the hospital in the afternoon and then I have my last final at 5:30, and the UPS dolts here have a tendency to fuck things up if someone isn't present at delivery.

My copy finally shipped this afternoon. It's in Pennsylvania of all places. Great. But, regardless of the distance, I estimate it should be in my mailbox on Saturday.

Bring the PS2 and hook it up to the hospital TV. DO IT.

Artbook & Persona 4 were just shipped a couple of hours ago, in Horsham, Penns. right now. & that means it should be in Maspeth, NY in the next 4-6 hours & at my door around 11:20-30 am :)

& Amazon support has been really unhelpful with every single email I've ever sent. Paid for Prime, I would expect people who have read everything in the email & not completely change the subject; telling me my orders have shipped + the usual Amazon legal/ corporate BS yadda yadda yadda instead of telling me my FREE PREORDER artbook will be included.

Had to reorder since I couldn't cancel 1 of 2 Persona 4 copies I was getting...

Mine shipped, gonna be here tomorrow. I have a meeting tomorrow and I'm busy the day after that. I hope it comes really early or at the end of the day, but not in between. lol :|

I put up my second Social Link Pack on Amazon Marketplace for $60 (to cover the cost of my own Social Link) and it sold in less than an hour.

Makes me think I should have put it up for more. But, whatever.

Should have mine delivered in 3 hours :)
Got the social link pack and the game.
I'm probably going to have to get the guide as well.

My boyfriend would probably murder me from the hospital bed cause of the voices. He HATED the P3 Fes voices and I think he made me use headphones to play it. He's basically a voice acting Nazi. I hope it comes before ~11:30 so they don't leave a slip instead of the package, but I doubt it. :(

So far, my game has been to PA, MD, and KY in that order. Um how about we cut the middlemen of MD and KY and just ship it to me in AZ? Am I asking too much here?

All my Persona 4 related orders shipped yesterday and will arrive tomorrow. I really shouldof played FES, but since they're not related I could really care less about playing Persona 4 before going through FES.

Got my strat guide today and man am I disseminated. For $20 its extremely flimsy its smaller then the P3 guide which was cheaper. Its also annoying that double jump shipped it in a paper envelope meaning I am lucky it didnt come damaged as hell.
I got my P4 yesterday. The game is awesome.
How did they package it? Artbook and game in a manila envelope like they did on Luminous Arc 2?

Really? Compared to most video games, I thought the Persona 3 voice acting was pretty good.

Is the content worth it? I have a $25 gift card to gamestop that I got for free from doing surveys and was thinking of picking up the guide. If not I'm going to hold out and buy some psn cards with it as I don't like buying games from gamestop.

Yeah, for sure. I think P4 will be even better. It probably does take some getting used to, though, at least in P3.
Bah, they say I won't get mine until the 12th either. Even though I chose Prime 2-day shipping. I signed up for the prime trial just to get this early XD
Maybe you'll get it earlier? Mine finally shipped, and it says it'll be here tomorrow. How, I dunno. Tomorrow would be the 10th, though, two days earlier than the estimate. Could be because I e-mailed bitching that my friends using super saver already had their copies!

---About the strategy guide--
I'm glad I didn't order it if what you guys are saying is true. DoubleJump used to put out the most amazing guides! Their Disgaea 2 guide was awesome. I don't want to believe the P4 guide is so lame! :( I think I'll just play it without a guide and utilize internet FAQs once they're available.

Yup, artbook and game came in a manila envelope with another box around it.
Yeah, for sure. I think P4 will be even better. It probably does take some getting used to, though, at least in P3.

Well mine says it'll get here tomorrow now XD Well I hope it does. I am so hyped for this game.

Well my stuff shiped today I can't wait to play it though it's too bad the guide for the game is not as good as the persona 3 guide I should have waited to get the guide I guess.. =\

Well, I certainly wasn't expecting it to arrive today as it shipped yesterday and I had two-day shipping on it. Oh well, I'm not complaining. Everything else looks like it'll arrive tomorrow though.

Anyways, my package from Amazon was in a fairly stiff and large cardboard envelope and within was a bubble padded mailer which included the game and artbook. No damage on the artbook thankfully.

Posted in the other topic but I will confirm what you said. Mine was also shipped in a cardbord envelope and a paper one and thankfully my art book only had an amazingly small scuff(most wouldnt even notice or care). Also if people who had prime shipping or better dont get theirs you will hate me.....I used super saver shipping!
my persona 4 came today and wow the artbook is huge
When I first opened it I thought it was my $30 art book. Was really pissed off......then I realized it was my pre order art book and was really impressed ;)
my persona 4 came today and wow the artbook is huge
Yeah I got it today too and the artbook suprised me, it's actually good. The FES artbook is tiny and was packaged with the game in a box.

Just got mine too, and was also surprised at how extensive the preorder art book is. Its making me think I dont really need the other art book maybe? I'll be curious to hear a comparison from those of you that ended up with both.

I was pretty stupid and canceled my Social Link Expansion back in November.

I figured they'd be printing them like crazy so it wouldn't be good for flipping, boy was I wrong.

got mine today. I have to resist from playing it until all the finals are over. Love the soundtrack, but I think that P3 soundtrack was better. Art book was good, but little too big. I wish they had done small art book as a pack in bundle. Less cutter is always better.

I'm not sure anyone is interested in it or not, but another CAG and I ordered a Social Link Expansion pack to split up for what we individually wanted within it. I'm getting the soundtrack and he is getting the t-shirt, but was seeing if there was interest for anyone in the calender and/or plush?

I can't wait for the game to come though.

I'd say the strategy guide is quite useful. One of the most useful parts of the guide is the whole table of enemies you face. It gives the spells they can cast and the strength/weakness. Quite a huge help when fighting shadows because now in the game, instead of asking your support teammate to find the characteristics of the enemy, you have you figure out what is the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy. It'll save a lot of frustration and wasting turns casting different spells.

Even though the guide is smaller and has flimsier paper, the content seems to be the same as the P3 guide. If you're familiar with the P3 guide, you'll feel right at home with the P4 one.

I received all my stuff from Amazon today - four seperate packages; game, guide, artbook and the social link expansion pack. I'm quite happy.

How nice is the pre-order art book? If it's not, I just pass on P4 for now. I don't have much money at the moment and I'd be getting it right now mainly for the art book. I also still need to play my copies of P3, P3: FES, and SMT: Nocturn.

I might be interested in having a second calendar

Just got the call from GS (I know I'm lame, but I had a bunch of credit from Target trade-ins), going right now to pick it up.

Woot! Just got mine in today. (I did the free shipping... and I'm in Philadelphia, where Amazon does a lot of their shipping, that's why it's so fast.) The art book is pretty nice, about the size of a graphic novel. I thought it would be hardcover for some reason but it's not, but that's okay. There's a lot of character art and concept sketches, but less pages devoted to personas and nothing on environments.
To any1 who finished it like me:

There is a spoiler tag.

Just got back from GS, the artbook is quite nice. I didn't expect much from it since the one I got from FES was basically the size of the game, but this one resembles a graphic novel almost 100 pages in length.
