Maybe I just don't know how much pedometers cost or something. I was always under the assumption they were like a couple bucks each. And if a game helps you figure how much walking you do/how much it helps, then I guess this is all right.
Pedometers range from $10-$100 and some do more than figuring out how much you walk.
I'm just saying that if you want to start casually walking to get more fit, you don't need a game to do that. Getting this game will by no means make you skinnier. It may give you tips for how to get skinnier, but there's this wonderful thing called the internet that will tell you those kinds of tips for free.
This is CAG, where games motivate even the laziest of people to get out of the house just to look for deals. Some people need this type of incentive and friendly competition to get themselves going.

Bottom line, I won't ever be getting this. For those who can use the games tips, good for you. I won't try and stop you. Just keep in mind that you do NOT need a VIDEO GAME to tell you how to WALK, or stay fit.
Don't think of it as a video game. Think of it as motivation, which for some people is what's really needed as opposed to say a well-planned out weekly training schedule.
I run on a regular basis, but I'm not going to condescend to people for getting this or say things like "this isn't REAL exercise, you know." What works for you (internet-based exercise) may not work for the people in this thread. And, just based on some of the replies here, it CAN be a game (between 2 people) rather than a serious take on exercising.
And, yes, I'll be buying this for the niece and nephew so that they can see that exercise, at whatever amount and in whatever form, can be fun - just like video games.
