PGR4 - feat. Geometry Wars - Valentine's DLC Free & Premium (400pts) Now Up

I'm going to stick with the game. Then again, I have been a PGR fan since it was called MSR on dreamcast. If you are a fan of this type of game, then you won't regret your purchase.

I don't know if the old cone races are gone but there are new timed cone races that are like bowling .
You have to drive or powerslide through a specified number of cones in a certain amount of time the cones are set up like bowling pins .

The Burnout people will no doubt prefer this method .

I'm enjoying the game so far but the menu's have changed so I don't know what to expect .

Well the Arcade mode which is the one that you get medals on, does not seem as hard as Gotham Career mode. The career mode is definitely a little hard even on normal setting.
Have you guys purchased gamerpics though the game yet...I'm curious as to how that works and how many are available.
I earned the Michelin Man Gamerpic so far [Check my Sig at the top of this page] , I'll let you know when I get the next one .
I think someone could easily earn it through a rental .

There's also an exclusive gamerpic you can purchase in-game for 1mil kudos...I don't know if I'll be able to get it, but this game will definitely keep you busy if you decide to try for it.

Great game too, btw.

Thanks, I'll give it a try when GameFly brings it by.

grrrr I really want PGR4. Im tempted to cancel my Stanglehold CE preorder for ps3 and just buy PGR4 on the spot then return a free copy from online later down the road...

How sim-ish is it? I love racing sims.

i just got this game yesterday and i really like it. Load times are nowhere near the annoyance that they were for pgr3 and the achievements are really fun. I wasn't into the whole motorcycle thing at first, but now that's all i want to drive. Great game.

Also, to the question about racing sims... pgr is in no way a racing sim. If that's what you're into, stick to forza. Personally, forza is worse than watching paint dry for me, that game is terribly boring.

Here's the cars (& a bike) that are in the demo...

Exige GT3
Ferrari 599 GTB
Lamborghini Concept M
Triumph Speed Triple
Honda NR750

Wow, playing with the bikes from any view other than behind the bike is both exciting and nauseating. They are so damn quick and the whole screen leans in like the bike, totally unexpected. Overall, the game is really nice. My only complaint so far is how difficult it is. Of course, PGR3 could have been this way and I just don't recall.

I'd love to get this for cheap.. hoping the retail site puts it up by the end of the year. Looks awesome.

I just played the demo and I thought it was horrible. Good graphics but rubbish control. I already deleted it off my drive. Thank goodness for demos, as this game isnt even on my $20 radar anymore.

Umm... we playing the same game?
Umm... we playing the same game?
I think I have to give it another try. I DL'ed this and the new FEAR demo, and the fear demo was horrible, so I think I was in a bad frame of mind when I played this.

I just bought the Achievement. I'm using the picture on my gamercard, might take a while to refresh it though. I saved all my Kudos just so I could get it out of the way early, well besides for me buying the JPN car pack. I couldn't race without the Lancer and RX-7.

Maybe that's why I hated the Jericho demo. Then again, maybe it's just a shitty game.

Unfortunately I'm playing the same game he is. I loved PGR3 too, but this one is doing nothing for me at all.

Played the demo for a bit last night with the Lamborghini...the cars seem to handle a lot better than PGR3, now when I crash on a wall I don't come to a complete stop. I still suck at driving sim games though...I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly turn.

I like the game, but I'm not so sure on the bikes yet. I didn't get too queasy with the camera, but I only gave it a few runs. My main concern is the snow levels. How often does that come up in the game? There's a bit of disconnect since if you slide off a bit, you're in what feels like ice, but graphically all you see is snow, but it doesn't displace or anything. It just looks like it's painted on. The rain and puddles are pretty nice, though. I like that you have to rethink the braking zones and get out of the racing lines a few times.

I'm a sucker for racing games. I love PGR4. I'm probably just going to keep my copy from Gamefly which will be $35 after the coupon.

I think the big problem with people who loved PGR3 is that haven't actually played that game in a while. While it's more arcade-like than something like the Forza series, it's still hard and has quite a learning curve. The controls are very tight and very good once you get used to them. I remember kicking all sorts of ass in PGR3 and now I'm just getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter. It's as though I forgot how to play the game (although it has been well over a year since I played PGR3) and I have to relearn the controls, as well as how the cars drift in this game. Overall the game is very polished and looks great.

I am enjoying it. Although I am enjoying Geometry Wars: Waves more right now. Im ranked 76 or so right now in it with a 2 million plus score. Its much more challenging than retro evolved. Gets me psyched for the sequel

I was tempted to pick it up today, but the voice in the back of my head said to play the demo first. I'm glad I listened to that voice. I don't know if I was spoiled by PGR3's graphics, but it visually looked pretty meh to me. I wasn't a huge fan of the bikes either to be honest. I might pick it up when it gets cheap though.

Just wondering if anyone who actually owns the game has trouble connecting to matches in LIVE. I rented it today and it seems I constantly hang on connecting status whenever I try to connect to any kind of ranked match. I've had a few and I am loving them, but the fact that it takes forever kinda saps the fun. The bikes are awesome on LIVE though, except for the fact that everyone tries to wipe you out!
What game is better: PGR3 or PGR4? How much better is one or the other?
If you've never played either just get the one with the cars you like the best .
Does the racing wheel work with this game? I kind of want a large bulk racing wheel in my room.
Yes , and it works better than it did with PGR3 since the wheel was out before this game .

Got this game from a Goozex trade a few days ago, only played a few races so far but I'm loving it. Played the hell out of PGR 3 so I am really enjoying PGR 4.
