Phoenix Wright 2 - Justice for All! Due in Q1 2007! (NOW WITH PICS!!)
Von Karma's daughter is hot...

Wait?! So they don't scream out objection and slam the desk while pointing an accusing finger?! What fun is civilized court proceedings? :whistle2:(

"Concluding the trailer here on the show floor was something of a surprise -- the video suddenly cut to words saying that "Another new attorney has passed the bar", and then shows a brunette fledgling attorney much younger than Phoenix. [...] Could there be yet another Phoenix Wright in production? And is this for DS, GBA, or some other system? Capcom's reps on the floor couldn't answer that at this time, but we'll work to get the answer as soon as we can."

What's that all about I wonder? I haven't heard of this anywhere else.

I think that is the first "made for DS" Phoenix Wright. As in, tailor made. Not a port.

It was announced a while ago.

I thought I'd bump this up since I'm finally playing Phoenix Wright (THANKS STRELL!) and it's awesomeness knows no bounds.

Having beaten the import version, have fun with it guys. It's more of the same overall, but sooo much fun.

I just sent my copy of the first one to a friend so they can play.
why do this and warioware have to come out on back to back days
which to buy 1st....or just get both :)
I know! I have friends that want to me to come over for Warioware on Wednesday, and I'm like, "But.... but.... I'll have Phoenix Wright...."

Just reserved it at EB Games. Thought it came out today, but turns out they'll have it tomorrow. Works out for me since I got the free stylus.

Anyone able to find this in stores today?

I finished the first game a while ago, so I'm eager to play this one.

EDGEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

I've heard it's not quite as good as the original, but still good. I'm going to pick up Hotel Dusk next week for my adventure game fix and then probably get Phoenix Wright 2 after that. They need to create a NEW Phoenix Wright for the DS, not these (admittedly great) GBA ports.

I need this answered quick - if I preordered, it should be in the store now, right? 'Cuz I dont' want to go there (we're having icy roads and terrible weather) just to hear them tell me "oh it won't be out until 5 PM."

Depends on when your store gets shipment. Around here it's about 11-1 when shipment arrives.

I won't be picking it up until about 6, and won't play it until about 10. I have work.

My GameCrazy didn't get it today even though it was scheduled to arrive at all stores today. I'm pissed.. I even waited until the truck got there. I have it preordered and everything. I may just buy it elsewhere if I can find it.

And Strell.. dude. Phone. Call them.

Bleh. I went there, but due to our crappy weather, clerk didn't know if they'd even get a shipment. Then as I left, the UPS guy showed up with palettes of stuff.

I didn't want to stick around and wait, so I'll try back later today I guess.

Sure, it may have shipped yesterday. But depending on what kind of shipping Capcom employs, it might still take a few days to get here.

On my end, I'm a little worried about my pre-order. The store where I put in the pre-order closed for a remodel right after Xmas, and the store where all pre-orders supposed transferred doesn't seem to have my name in the system (though they know they've gotten pre-orders transferred for other games). That store told me there hopefully shouldn't be any problems by bringing in my receipt, though I'm wondering if I'll still get the pre-order bonus.

Picked up my copy today at Gamestop. There were a couple people in there with it in their hands so I assumed they just got their shipment in not long ago. I'm a little dissapointed in the stylus, feels too flimsy like if I grip it hard enough I'll bend it or snap it in half. ahhh well, it was free can't really complain....

Got through the first case tonight. Definitely intro-oriented both for game and series. But most importantly, retaining the quality dialogue!

Hell, maybe I'll be able to do a case a night and finish this by the weekend. Is this about the 10-15 hours long I expect, based on my 20 hours with the 5-case first game?

Same here, got the first case and it seemed more like an extension of the first game, than a true sequal. Normally this would be a serious problem, but not only is this a $30 game (opposed to the normal $50 / $60 pricetag console games hold), but it's an adventure game known more for it's clever & witty writing than it's gameplay.

That said, I did find it wierd that the first game, and supposivly 1/4 of the game, didn't feature the new "pychlock" feature or the investigation mode from PW1. I know it was meant to be more of an intro stage, but PW2 as a whole is said to be shorter than PW1 by quite a bit, so it would have gone a long way for me if the first case was a tad bit longer and included all elements that are to be present in the rest of the game. But hey, it's just a silly nuisance, not something tragically gamebreaking or anything, just me being overly critical of a damn fine game.

Well, I think im at the last part of case 1, but my DS died on me, so I guess I'll finish it tomorrow. Feels good to be playing some PW again. I think I'm going to take my time a little bit with this one so I can make it last for a while.

Good lord does the Gamestop/EB preorder suck. It's probably the most useless stylus ever. Oh well. I haven't started PW 2 yet simply because I want to beat Zelda first.

I hope so...I pre-ordered a copy for $23 at CD Universe and it took a lot of willpower for me not to order another one for $35 at GS just for that damn stylus.

Not worth making a new thread till more information is available:

Gyakuten 4 - DS
As mentioned earlier in this thread, it's coming out on the 12th of April. The regular edition will be 5040yen, while the Limited Edition package is 9240yen. The limited edition contains the previously announced Encylopedia cart as well as a DVD with trailers, promo videos and other assorted footage for every single title in the series up to now.
Way too much money to import, but sounds awesome.

Gamestop's website says it's $30. It'd better be.
Just picked it up in store yesterday from Gamestop. $29.99
That's good. I preordered it, but the guy I called said it wasn't in yesterday. He sounded like a dumbass, though, so I'll have to check agian today.
It's confirmed that the Japanese version of Gyakuten Saiban 4 won't have English on it.
Gah, figures. I guess that's what happens when a new DS game is made rather than a GBA port.

Though, did the original GBA games have English and Japanese, or was English added to the JPN DS ports?

The gba games are only in Japanese

Damn, do you have a link or source?

:bomb: Nevermind, I found one directly from Capcom's boards.

We've not yet announced AA4 for Europe or the US release yet. Per the same question about AA3, we need to carefully watch the performance of AA: And Justice for All in these territories before any such announcements would be made.

Also, importing AA4 will not likely be terribly useful for most folks as the Japanese release will not contain English or any other language. Naturally, if you read Japanese, then importing would be a solution.
Well that says it all, hope JFA sells enough to warrant more sequels.

Another post regarding PW3's possibility of coming to USA.

I'll have filed an injunction against any forces that would definitively stop AA3. Subpoenas to discuss the matter have also been filed with the relevent personnel.

Beyond the fact that it's under discussion I can not confirm it. There's lots of factors playing into the decision (costs of localization, timing of release, availability of development resources, sales performance of And Justice for All, etc.).

When and if we have something to announce, we will do so. That's the straightest answer I can give. The best thing anyone can do to help convince the company to bring over 3, is to pre-order And Justice For All. The better two does, the more obvious the decision to do three becomes.

Also, we'll have some nifty preorder incentives for two in the US that didn't exist for the Japanese version.
Rather curious what they're going to name GS4 in the US, since it's obviously not Phoenix Wright anymore.
Maybe Tucson Wleft?

why not? That hasnt stop games like Alundra 2 and Arc the Lad 2, where the title character is not the main character.

Otherwise you deal with name recognition problems, and it's built up a decent name over here.

Look at the box for the second game. Notice how Phoenix's name is almost a subtitle, with the main title being Ace Attorney. It'll most likely be called "Ace Attorney: GS4's main character's American name"

Notice also how Sven is referring to the subsequent games as AA3 and AA4, and how, if you link the forum link, the forum calls itself, "OFFICIAL ACE ATTORNEY RESOUCEa"(sic). [Yes... yes, they meant to write "RESOURCE."]

Also, I'm not at all surprised that English isn't being included in the next GS release. It was pretty well known that GS2DS had an English option -- and now that the Phoenix Wright games are more well known and anticipated, Sven is probably worrying about how much the Japanese import of GS2DS has eaten into North American sales. (Capcom EU is probably wondering the same for its English regions.) I'm also wondering how many folks got the first Phoenix Wright game from the net (I got mine from NCSX), as it would've been just as simple for eager players to grab an import copy from quite possibly the same online shop.

That was probably part of the incentive for Capcom NA to reissue the stylus as a pre-order bonus here.

[ And pre-order status: the transfer store only got 3 copies yesterday and quickly sold out. They say they'll be getting in more tomorrow -- and they're holding their last stylus for me. I guess I'll get to see if that stylus is as delicate as the Hori extending stylus that came with the Portrait of Ruin pre-order. ]

Can't say I disagree either. The game needs as much support outside of Japan as possible.
