Phoenix Wright 2 - Justice for All! Due in Q1 2007! (NOW WITH PICS!!)

I haven't been paying attention to this enough, if I don't pick it up now will I have trouble getting it later? Anyone have an idea of what the production numbers are?

XD, I was the person who asked on the Capcom boards if GS3 would be localized and brought to the US, it's funny you found that

Just started the game, and I've already noted a few grammar/spelling errors. Well... 2 total, and I just got into court for case 2. I hope the rest of the game comes out as well-translated as the 1st Phoenix Wright. l33tsp33k pwnz0rs!

Man, I got this game on Friday and I'm nearly finished with it now... I played a fuckload of this game over the last couple of days. It's phenomenal and I think it's superior to the original. It's rare that I play this many hours of a game in this short of a period of time, so this has to be something damn good.

ahh! I feel like crap rite now coz I am over-burnt from playing this game...

I'm on the 3rd case, and saved after part 1 of the trial,

which SUCKS coz my life is down to the point where I cannot make an error!!

I may need to use a gamefaq for this part...

also, the clown's fresh brince of bel air references are ^_^v
I started playing Justice for All today and I finished the first case. I was a little sad it was so short.
The other cases are all way, way, way longer.

I got my pre-order (along with the bonus) on Wednesday evening and played the game almost non-stop, until I finally beat Case 4 on Friday morning. And, damn that last case was done well, I'd probably rank it up there with the final two cases from the first game. The other cases were good too, contributing to the overall theme of the game's storyline.

I'd say that the only downside of this game was the music, which was generally lower in quality than the first game. There were a few new tunes that I enjoyed, like the slower version of the Steel Samurai theme, along with that fast-paced song that plays throughout the final parts of the 4th case.

Now I can't wait for the 3rd game in the series to come out. Judging by the impressions of the people who imported the original GBA versions, it seems like 3 is generally considered the best in the Phoenix Wright trilogy, with the best cases, characters, storyline, and music. Hope Capcom releases it soon.

Good god. The second case was incredible.

Do I hear talk from ye knaves that the third and fourth cases are as good, if not better?

Sweet zombie Jesus.

I'm of the opinion that the second case alone might make this a better game than PW1, but I'll see how the other two pan out.

Capcom, you get your ass on 3, 4, and whatever the hell else is coming out. I'll even buy your destined-to-be-shitty-remix MMZX:Advent if that can bring any sway.

3rd case is not quite as good as the second, but the fourth case is easily the best I've ever seen from the series. I'm finishing this game today which means I'll have played this game for like... 6 hours a day since I got it or something ridiculous like that. I don't know exactly how long the game is in hours, but my entire weekend was consumed by it.
Definitely harder for me.
Harder in a bad way, unfortunately. I think the logic is very fuzzy in some places. I'll get stuck, spend an hour trying to figure it out, finally have to look up the solution, and end up going, "Oh you've got to be kidding me..."
Harder in a bad way, unfortunately. I think the logic is very fuzzy in some places. Now I'm stuck pretty early on in the 3rd case, somehow (unless I broke through that part before going to bed; I don't recall now). Not presenting or examining the right thing. I'll probably have to ask for some assistance when I check tonight.

Yeah, I think this game is a bit harder.

For example, during the second case:
You hear the stuff about point-blank gunpowder burns, which Phoenix makes a mental note of ("Learn something new everyday."). So when you show the bullet hole in the sleeve of Maya's costume, the Judge immediately says "This smells like gunpowder!" I took an extra leap and thought "Ok, so there's gunpowder burns on the costume, so Grey fired from point blank, probably during the initial stabbing/struggle. But he didn't. So I sat there stuck for a looooooooong time before I realized what the deal was.

Also, being able to use profiles as evidence, without being told you could, threw me for a loop on the first case. I knew why that one guy had killed the cop, and I knew it was purely because he was a cop, but I couldn't figure out how to prove that. By accident I showed the cop's profile, and lo and behold, that's the dealbreaker.

So yeah, this one is a bit harder. Which I like. It means I get to play it longer!

I'm surprised at how the game is more serious than the last one. For example in the third case,
when you find out Acro did it and you realize unlike all the other guilty parties he's not really a bad guy. He wasn't some evil criminal.

Definitely a nice change of pace.

this game hella mirrors the first one:

case1: easy and random tutorial-ish case

case2: shit goes down with your partner
(mia, maya)

case3: random case with weird people
(like samurai or clowns)

case4: more shit goin down w/ main characters
(I'm not there yet, but I'm assuming Edgeworth will be in it)

if only this game had an awesome 5th case
altho based on what they say about edgeworth, the 5th case in this game doesnt seem 'canon'

Heh, I beat this game in NOVEMBER.

I bought the Japanese version which had the English version in it :)

I did buy the US version to help out sales, though :D

That has happened to me twice so far, both in the second case. I was starting to get ticked off that I couldn't figure whatever out, and I didn't want to have to look it up so I could say I beat it all on my own, but it's impossible a few times. I hope the rest isn't so rough for me.
Yeah, this game is crazy. Second case took me as long as the 5th case in the first game, big shock there.
I actaully flew through most of the second case. Also the whole thing was predictable not long after day 1 of investigation began.
The only thing I didn't anticipate was that big twist near the end.
Yeah, it was somewhat predictable, but getting to that point was the fun.

Alright, third case. I've collected the following evidence:
Crime photo, Silk hat, Ringmaster's papers, and Max G. promo poster. There's a piece of paper or something in the ringmaster's tailcoat, but for whatever reason Nick has decided not to look at it.
Anyone know who I'm supposed to talk to or where I'm supposed to look to move this thing along? I know
I'm supposed to show the papers to Max to get rid of the psyche-lock, but he's in questioning until I do something.

For your first spoiler tag:
Did you present Max's profile to Regina? If you did and used the conversation option that pops up, then Ben should be out by the front gate (But if you want, you can ignore him until later), and you'll be able to talk to Moe the Clown in his room until he tells you about another location in the circus you can go to.

Oh yeah. (Very minor spoiler, won't hurt anything, but I don't take chances.)

Mad props on "Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me Princess" comment in the second case.

Perhaps some of the best Judge conversations in the game are in Case 4 (Some of them have been posted over at GameFAQs, including the one below):

My personal favorite: BIG Case 4 (near-ending) spoilers (I blanked out some of the names, but it still takes place pretty late in the case)
Witness: As I have already stated quite a few times, _________ is my client. However--
Phoenix: HOLD IT! ...
Judge: What is it, Mr. Wright?
Phoenix: (If I press him the wrong way, it might raise suspicions on his end... But I have to do something to waste more time...)
Phoenix: Um... Witness. About requesting a hit...
W: Yes?
Phoenix: How much is your fee...?
W: ...I see you are also quite a dark-hearted man, Mr. Attorney...
Phoenix: Huh?
W: If you would like to talk business, we can do so after the trial...
Phoenix: Ack! NONONO! I'm not thinking of hiring--
Judge: M-M-Mr. Wright!!
Phoenix: Y-Yes!?
Judge: Y-Y-You... You want to kill me... You want me dead... DON'T YOU!?!?
Phoenix: Whaaaat!? Why would you think something like that, Your Hon--
Judge: Guilty! MR PHOENIX WRIGHT! You are hereby declared GUILTY!!
Prosecutor: ...Witness. Let's continue...
Wholly crap - you beat it already Jekki?
no... I was jus making assumption about what to expect in case 4...

but now I'm at case 4, I wonder if I can beat it tomorrow??
Wholly crap - you beat it already Jekki?
I finished it yesterday morning and I'd gotten it on Friday night. Which tells you that I did a lot of lawyering over the weekend. So worth it.

I had the same two problems (among many, many others, especially in the third case).

In the first case,
I knew the victim died because he was in uniform, and I knew that the crime scene photo clearly showed that the suspect could see that uniform (the hat was very prominent here). No luck.

The third case
was the worst for me. There were so many giant leaps of logic it was more about guessing what the writers had in mind than actually figuring out the plot. The bit about the ringmaster picking up the box was just stupid - no way that's a natural thing to do. The final resting place of the murder weapon seemed to come out of left field too. The added penalty of instant failure at many points in this trial just turned annoying.

Overall, the many typos and other localization errors made things difficult - trying to pick out where witnesses made slips of the tongue or other mistakes. It seemed to me like the artists didn't pay as much attention to detail in the pieces of evidence this time around. There were other things that should have been significant that just weren't. For instance, in the 4th case
It seemed quite suspicious to me that someone managed to pour a glass of juice and still have a completely full bottle sitting there.

Can't wait to pick this up. Phoenix Wright is pretty addicting! I still have to beat the 5th case in PW1.

Wow.

Absolutely amazing 4th case. Luckily I'm done though, my fiancee is sick of me playing this game all day. :D Just wow.
The Fourth case takes everything you love about PW and TURBOFIES it!
Quoting for extreme emphasis.

One question regarding the very final ending:
Since I didn't bother thinking too hard (or at all) about what item to give Edgeworth in thanks (I figured it would be the whip, but I just quickly threw him my attorney badge), does the ending change at all if I had given it to him so he could give it back to Franziska?

I assume Phoenix reprises his role in GS3, since a big deal was made of the new character in GS4?

botticus>> re:very final ending
I gave edgey the whip, and after the credits edgey meets Fanziska at the airport, and gives it to her. Then she begins to cry like a child and gets all emotional. I'm not sure if that scene occurs if u do not hand the whip to him

and I think Gyakuten Saiban 3
occurs in the past, where the main attorney is Mia

Finally got it yesterday, only made it to the almost ending of the first case, had no time.

Traded in the crap COD3 for 360 for this, I think I made a wise decision.

Good, pretty much the same.
I could live with that.
One could sort of tell that this game was closing up the majority of the loose ends with all the characters, happy ending and whatnot.

Nah, That is just the intro case. The rest of the game takes place after the 2nd game.

Only two cases take place in the past with Mia as the defense, and both of them are supposed to serve as the lead-in to the final case. Phoenix is still the main attorney, with three cases in the game. And there's also that third character you can play as for awhile...
I could live with that.

Well, from what I've heard, GS3's ending is supposed to be amazing, even better than this game's ending.

I'm on the last case, can't wait to finish it but at the same time don't want to rush it.

end of case 3 spoilers
I actually felt bad for the criminal for once.

I'm making my way through the third case and I love how one of the new character's last name is Galactica. I'm guessing someone on the translation team is a fan of Battlestar Galactica.

nope. It is also Galactica in Japanese.

Finally got some playtime with it. Good fun, but why change the music ? Additionally, there's some weird logical leaps in there, in addition to typos. Feels a little rushed (which is funny considering how long it took to get ported), but I'm not going to fault it. Still loads of good stuff. I'm on the second day of the trial in the 2nd case.
