Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Finally Got the game tonight. AI just beat the second case, and man, can this game mentally drain you. There were a couple of points where I was decimating the witness only to have a quick turnaround. fucking A-list stuff right here.

I found one ebgames that had one last copy. Every other eb/gs/funco in my area is out.
All they had was the display box copy, but the cartridge and instructions were locked up and looked new. Do they always sell display copies at full retail or did I get cheated?

You've been here over a year and you seriously ask this question? How often do you actually shop for games? It's been this way for years.

I never buy from EB or GS because they are always overpriced compared to most other places except for the occasional online deal. I'm surprised how many people on a site called "cheap ass" actually buy regularly at full price from them. But thanks for the answer.

Allright, I finshed up Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the DS. The game was solid. The first 4 cases were a bit uneven and felt a bit clunky (due to being GBA ports). However, the last case was aces, it really kept me on my toes and thinking bout the arguements long after I put the game down. Plus it was much more compelling then the others. The DS specific features in the case were very useful and fun to do.

Found a used copy of Phoenix Wright at my local Gamestop for $18.00 (after 10% discount with their card), but no manual included. Lack of manual a big deal? Not sure....

Not unless you're anal like me and many others who like complete games. I never looked at the thing.

They don't have voices in the Japanese version(Besides objection, hold it, ect.) That was specially made for TGS. If you check the developers 1up blog, he talks about it in detail.

which Fry's do you live by?
Frys got a huge shipment of this game in for anyone still interested.
If you live by a frys and can pick some extra up, I'd be willing to pay you some extra on top the shipping and tax for a copy.

Just PM me and let me know.

I just finished the game.

Here is a run down of my thoughts:

It is extremely fun and makes you think. However(!), I thought it was just a little too linear or something like that. Maybe linear is not the right workd, but I felt like it was holding my hand just a bit too much. No matter what choices you made it was either right or wrong and there was only one path to take it seemed.

Still a good game, but can be greatly improved imo. Add different ways to win and lose trials based on evidence found and presented. Maybe give a grade at the end of each trial. Capcom could really make a milking with this franchise if they put some effort into it and expanded it.

Anyway, great game and for those that like murder mystery books I think you would especially like this as it's like an interactive book, but you have to find the evidence and piece it all together.

You got a trade list? Or can I pay you to pick one up?

can you also pick me up a copy

Why? Not a single person here would help me pick one 1 single game from the TRU $10 sale (Pikmin 2), so why should I feel all giving and pick up copies? Somehow ive received 5-8 PMs already asking for me to pick up copies...but again, why?

I just sold one for $64 last night. Didn't last more then 3 hours on ebay. Ill see if I decide to offer any up here, but honestly, I don't feel very compelled to.

And you wonder why no one felt like getting you a Pikmin 2.

Yeah, because not a sinlge person would sell it to me for $20, $10 more then they paid. Hell, even shipping it media mail they could have still made a $7 profit. Yet not a sinlge person would help, even though ive helped others in the past track down games.

So let me get this straight.

You've helped people in the past, no one got you one game from the TRU sale which was EASILY one of the most wanted and difficult to track down, you find a shipment of a hugely sought after game, brag about selling them online for 2X the price, and when people ask you for a copy, you complain about Pikmin 2 and refuse?

While I can understand being a bit peeved, right now the situation is reversed and you're doing the exact same thing you were upset about to begin with. And since you're responding within the context of the discussion, you must feel like you can defend your actions. And since that is the case, I'm not sure how you are expecting anything to change. If this keeps up, you can expect people to never get you anything you'd want.

I've done the whole "get something for someone" thing too, and yea, you hardly ever get paid back in terms of people doing favors for you down the line. I just chalk it up to the good deed is enough.

If CAG operated purely on a tit for tat mentality, we'd never have word on deals. Ever. Everyone would have all these tips on their hands, and complaining about "WELL THE LAST TIME I PUT ONE UP, NO ONE ELSE SAID ANYTHING."

Besides, Pikmin 2 isn't even close to the rarity PW is, but I'm not going to really discuss that.

C'mon, just pick up the games and sell em on here for $45, that's a damn good price sealed and about $10 profit on your part. That's what I would do if I had access to some sealed PWs (or trade them for just about anything I wanted).

Sorry dude, there were a couple games I could have gotten you from TRU, but then again, I must have missed your posts outlining specific games. Next time, if there's a sale I get in on and you want something, I'll hook you up. I don't like people claiming I wouldn't be willing to get them extra copies of stuff, because I really like the CAG community and if I could help someone out, I would. So many people in the past have been nice enough to get me copies of stuff from sales I couldnt reach, and I've never been screwed by someone on this site. I hooked someone up with Four Swords from that TRU sale, and in all honesty, they had a ton of Pikmin 2s...If I'd known, I woulda done it.

Here's hoping another major chain goes under and we can all reap similar benefits, eh? As for Phoenix Wright, yea, I was one of the PMers, but in truth, if you're getting 65 bucks for it, sell it on eBay. That's more than I would pay for it, and thats more than you could get for it from this site. I'm sure I can easily score a copy if I REALLY wanted it (and I only really want it because its so damn popular...that and I like adventure games, I guess)
(and I only really want it because its so damn popular...that and I like adventure games, I guess)
I thought it was great. The 5th case is the best since it uses more DS features and it's longer and more complicated, but yeah, I thought it was a great game, I wouldn't pay fucking double MSRP for it, but if you can get it pretty cheap then you really should.

its a difficult situation, its hard to to pick these up for cag's when you can make such i high profit on ebay, its not like $5-10 here its substantial.

i think its a bit unfair to expect that actually, its like expecting someone who paid $10 for suikoden to give it to someone here for $20.

i have a copy for trade and have received loads of interested (as one would expect) but its so hard to pull the trigger on trading because the value keeps rising.

Simple fact is Ive helped others in the past. I ask for someone, anyone, to find Pikmin 2 which was on the easist ones to find seeing as how people STILL have them left over, offer twice as much as they would have paid, and not a single person would help me.

WHY should I feel compelled to help out all these people that are now asking me to pick up the game? I never even OFFERED to buy any copies for CAG, simply said my Frys had a ton, and all the sudden people are already asking me to buy them a copy. I bought one copy last night and listed it on ebay and doubled my money (Well, after ebay and shipping ill make $25 profit). Tell me, if you were in the same situation would you help out a CAG? $25 is enough to buy another DS game, or 2 new DVD releases. Hell its a full tank of gas for a week.

IF I goto Frys again and see a ton of copys MAYBE I will offer sme here, or maybe I will just let them sit and let someone else buy them. So far there is only 1 person here that I may sell a copy to simply for the fact that he wasn't being a jerk.

I'm not saying you are obligated. I'm saying you are doing the same thing others did to you and using that as your justification.

Simple statement.
I'm not saying you are obligated. I'm saying you are doing the same thing others did to you and using that as your justification.

Well, yeah. Ive done alot of game hunting for others in the past, and sold things at cost + shipping and gas. So when I aks for a tiny request, a game that is $10 and nearly every TRU but mine had, and others had numerous copys of, not 1 person would help me. Now we are talking about a game that is impossible to find (Atleast in some areas, seems plentiful here), everyone wants to be my friend and have me help them out.

They don't want to be your friend, they want the game. And you are talking about it being in good supply with easy access. Like it or not, that will happen to anyone on CAG. Me, you, whoever. If you ran into 10 copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga tomorrow, of COURSE everyone on CAG wants it. And if *I* did, of COURSE I'll get PMs. It really doesn't matter who in the hell it happens to, and you're twisting it into this "why me" situation when you know it would be universal across the board.

Now as far as the Pikmin 2 available at almost everywhere comment, I only found 1 copy at 3 different TRUs, each 3 hours from each other (home town, middle point, and where I live currently), and seeing as how everyone was asking for it, I honestly think it was in small supply. Whether or not that is true is up to interpretation.

Additionally, if it were that simple, I'm sure you could have snagged a copy on eBay relatively cheap, but that's conjecture on my part so I won't really offer it up much more so than that.

Look, I don't really care if you help people or not, I'm just saying you can't argue yourself on contingent A when it's the same thing you are pissed about.

Lifes a bitch, then you die.

the latest rumor going around is that Capcom is planning to release the Gyakuten Saiban 1-3 in the US for cellphone. I wonder if there will be enough interest.

QFT. Why in the hell...cell phone? NO ONE will buy it then.

I'm not going to knock anyone who plays elaborate games like that on their cellphone, because if someone gave me a free top-of-the-line phone with a ton of games on it, you'd probably see me playing it in public (while trying to shield my body so attractive women nearby can't see it), but as long as I'm paying for the phone with my own money, I think I'll just get the kind of phone thats primarily for talking to people.

Pfft, homie, everyone be rockin' that shit on their Sidekicks. Maybe we'll get a shot of Paris Hilton playing it as she dome-polishes some pizza delivery guy.
