First Prize - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (XBox 360, Playstation 3, or Nintendo Wii, Winner's Choice)

14ty6pu.jpg

Explore more of the hidden shadows of the Sith with this sequel to the hit game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Starkiller, Darth Vader's apprentice, returns with over-the-top Force powers and embarks on a journey to discover his own identity and to reunite with his one true love, Juno Eclipse. In Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Starkiller is once again the pawn of Darth Vader -- but instead of training his protégée as a ruthless assassin, the dark lord is attempting to clone his former apprentice in an attempt to create the Ultimate Sith warrior. The chase is on -- Starkiller is in pursuit of Juno and Darth Vader is hunting for Starkiller.
With all-new devastating Force powers and the ability to dual-wield lightsabers, Starkiller cuts a swath through deadly new enemies across exciting worlds from the Star Wars films -- all in his desperate search for answers to his past.

Second Prize - The Godfather II (XBox 360 or Playstation 3, Winner's Choice)

2hz61ig.jpg

The Godfather II game goes beyond the film's story by setting players in the world of organized crime in 1960’s Florida, Cuba and New York.
After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces "The Don's View" -- an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don's View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.

Third Prize - You're in the Movies (XBox 360)

e00het.jpg

This is the game only, no camera included. Get ready for your close-up. You're in the Movies brings the cool factor to kitsch as you live out your dreams of becoming a scream queen, zombie or kung fu fighter. This game is the first and only game of its kind to literally transport players into a magical world of cinema mixed with the hilarious world of improvisation. Using the Xbox LIVE Vision camera, players’ actions are captured and placed into short, riotous films. Performances never end up on the cutting-room floor, and are never the same.

Fourth Prize - James Bond 007: From Russia with Love (Playstation 2)

2qxvyip.jpg

James Bond 007 : From Russia With Love will be the first game to put players in the universe of the classic James Bond films. Set in the original 60's Bond era, the game features movie-based missions as well as original, action-intensive sequences, a broad and deep variety of gameplay, fully-integrated vehicles, social multiplayer experiences, gorgeous women, and classic, upgradeable weapons and gadgetry with modern mechanics.

Maybe he hasn't been frieling so good lately...

Hmm, this guy fell off the face of the earth, facebook, his website forums, everything. I forgot I hadn't seen any updates for a long time. He updates a post daily and then disappears with no explanation. No wonder the independents have trouble making it in this business. I've had two horrible experiences with 3rd party independents on buy.com lately also, I'll never order from a 3rd party on buy.com if I can avoid it.

Oddly enough he still signs on here. It would be nice to get an update so we can know what has been going on.

I dunno, maybe Cheapy told him not to post here anymore, or maybe the guy just got fed up with the hassle of running a game store and called it quits. I'm certainly not complaining though... that Gamecube grab bag left me with three games, all non-functioning. Plus the deals themselves were often rather odd (new games without cover art, imports, CEs with only some extras), it seemed like he and his "suppliers" were giving us the leftover scraps from other sales... that $5 shipping didn't really seem to take either. For a long time CAG, the guy seemed to be a bit out-of-touch with what CAGs generally like in their deals.
I bought a game from him a few weeks ago on Ebay. I hope he is doing okay. Times are tough here in Michigan.
He appears to be doing fine on eBay, his account there is still very active.

Oddly enough, after this discussion, I just noticed he made a post on the GDD Facebook page, saying he was starting his weekly giveways again. Guessing he's still running the site.

We're back with our first daily deal on a video game in 2011!

Any questions/concerns please PM me and I'll be later this afternoon to address them.

Thanks!

I know I should just ignore it but this thread title annoys me. Before anyone gets misled it's USED and you need to add in $4.99 shipping. A used Lost Planet 2 copy for $12.94 is not so hot.

wow that is an outrageous shipping charge haha...i could have bought it for 10 new months ago

I've been complaining about this for a while. This is the only thread that is allowed to not post whether something is used or how much shipping is. In any other thread, the OP would be ripped for not stating shipping and used-ness.

That's exactly it and I don't know why it's allowed to continue. Frielgood, these cheap marketing tactics might work on less-savvy online shoppers but it doesn't work on CAGs. If anything, it actually stimulates ill-will towards your site. It just feels like you're trying to deceive customers. Besides, everyone is just going to see the real total before they pay you for it anyway.

I think it's great that there can still be independent game websites, but this is just the wrong way to do it. Most of us just get annoyed when we see you post deals in this manner. I, for one, enjoyed the lack of your updates for a while. It's not that I don't appreciate someone trying to give us a deal but your misleading presentation just sucks.

I agree, its that old Bobby Kotick way of talking past the people you really need to be speaking to.

I could say a few nice things about the site, and I could also give some rather critical remarks, but ultimately I think the best thing to do would just be to not say anything... these issues have been mentioned before and I don't think I've ever seen him respond to them. If you keep bringing it up, he just gets a free bump.

Exactly what I have said a number times in the past. He doesn't address them, and no one in-charge does anything about him. If you don't like his site, just ignore him and his thread.

He actually did address it a handful of months ago. I think it essentially came down to the fact that if he listed the shipping costs in the title, then less people bought from him or clicked the thread. Something like that. It hurts his advertising and sales here on CAG to list the shipping price in the title.

As for the whole New/Used thing, I could have sworn he usually listed the condition of the game in the title. Perhaps he's not doing that anymore with the Used games to increase his clicks/sales. At any rate I think he should have to list the New/Used condition in the title, but the mods/Cheapy D haven't noticed yet or don't care.

I also think he should have to list the shipping costs too (for a while I think he did "+ s/h" but eventually dropped that practice too), but apparently the mods/Cheapy D really don't care about that either at this point.
@Dr - I was wondering what happened to this thread. Any chance at some of the books from the GT5 collectors edition getting a listing?
I haven't come across any of the GT5 CE yet, but if I do I'll definitely pick them up.

That's not our problem. It's bullshit cause it's not the standard CAG convention. Anyone else would get roasted.

Agreed, but like I said, the mods/Cheapy D just don't care so these complaints seem to be useless.

I hear ya.

By the way, I don't think these comments are giving him a "free bump". If anything, I think people clicking on it will see the complaints first.

I don't have anything personal against the guy but underhanded business practices is no way to grow a brand.
Agreed, but like I said, the mods/Cheapy D just don't care so these complaints seem to be useless.
Something tells me the official stance of the mods would be "If you don't like it then put them on ignore."

I did actually. But even when you ignore someone you can't ignore threads, only posts.
Agreed, but like I said, the mods/Cheapy D just don't care so these complaints seem to be useless.
Actually, we do care, though when someone is MIA, there's not much conversation to be had with them.

Also adjust the thread title to show that it's a used item, and there are shipping charges associated with it.

When i read the title, i couldnt believe it.
The item's condition and the shipping price...on the title?
wow :whistle2:#

I thought i would never see this day.

Then...i scroll up on the last page.
Bang. the mod is commanding the OP to do so.

And here i thought the mods and Baldy had shares on GameDealDaily INC. or they received kickbacks from the Dr.
;)

Thank you so much for doing this.
:applause:

I read the feedback, and in the past I've tried both including shipping costs and condition in the title. I noticed that I got more orders and more site visits when I did not include that info. Despite the criticism I've received, response to the deals has been very strong since we started them back up last week. I will continue to post in the thread title format you see today, and hopefully business will continue to grow.

What a bunch of bs.

Updated with today's deal on Split/Second for XBox 360.

All copies of Split/Second are in like-new condition and come complete with the original case, artwork, instruction manual, and game disc.

I've ordered from his site without any problems before and always knew the items were used. I actually ordered one of the network adapters yesterday and I expect the same great experience.

Not to kill the guy's business, but Split Second for the 360 is $19.99 at Amazon Warehouse Deals for a like new copy.

Reading this thread, it's worth the extra 6 cents (if you have Prime/get FSSS) to get it sooner.
