..then you'll get out of college and, with the absence of a group of people constantly around you, you'll learn to get rid of your silly-assed haircut and the costumes you spent so much time aquiring and wearing and learn to be a regular old human being with a job and a family.

Emos/scene are more than they appear
Of course...everyone in a "group" is more than they appear......that doesn't mean that the costuming and look isn't silly to the rest of humanity however. Its like when I was in school back in the day, and all of a sudden girls turned into Val's...aka: Valley Girls.
So all of a sudden the girls would be, like, you know..talking..like, you know..No WAAAAY! I was like...FerSurrre....
And you'd be staring at these girls and going "Uh, did you develop a speech problem over the summer? Were you hit by a car or something?".....nope, just trying to associate with a group.
Still silly as all get out
Perhaps if you didn't try so hard to be a part of a particular group, people wouldn't feel the need to ridicule you.
