Pixar's CARS 2 (June 24): Reviews = mixed more negative
That is not the Pixar crew, it is the Disney overlords. Pixar has never wanted to do sequels, they didn't even want to do Toy Story 2 originally. They bowed to pressure from Disney under their original development contract with Disney for Toy Story 2. Then when Disney purchased Pixar out-right, Disney immediately launched plans to not only do sequels to several Pixar flicks but also direct to dvd/br spin-offs......like the upcoming Cars spin-off, Planes.
I'd say maybe this will send Disney a message to leave Pixar to doing what it does best, but likely this won't matter as the movie will make money, but more importantly, the merchandise will sell like crazy, which is the whole reason this movie got a sequel in the first place. It's quite a shame to see a Pixar movie score this low, but I can't say as I'm surprised. It's the first Pixar movie I have no interest in seeing.

It was ok, but very slow moving. Some forced humor and overall very little to laugh at. I think the critics are being overly harsh, as this is a kids movie, but there's very little for adults to enjoy overall. Definitely not a best attempt for Pixar, especially given Cars wasn't all that great to begin with.

Don't forget to check for the Pope car in the movie:
Incredibles has an audience 67%? You have got to be fucking kidding me. It is the best Pixar movie and may be the best animated film ever made. If not, it is up there.
I have to agree with you there. Incredibles is the best Pixar movie, period. It so deserves a sequel, it's painful, and then we get Cars tossed a sequel.

A recent MSN article "ranking" the Pixar movies, and I have some issues with their rankings:

Sequels tend to ruin franchises for me with very few exceptions, so leaving Incredibles as a solo effort is tribute to it.

Her's my list (I haven't seen Cars 2 yet):

Monster's Inc.
The Incredibles
Finding Nemo
Wall-E
Toy Story
Ratatouille
Toy Story 2
Cars
Up
Toy Story 3
A Bug's Life
