Play N Trade Videogames is now running RETRO MONTH

- 20% extra trade in credit on all retro games
- 20% off all retro games
- Save $5 on Retro Entertainment System (NES) or Retro Duo (SNES/NES)

Check www.playntrade.com for a local store

Check with store on what they may or may not consider "retro", PS1 may not be considered retro but N64 is. So it may vary store to store.

Edit: YMMV, but if you print the image above out they would typically honor it. Best thing to do is to ask or call ahead of time.

Ugh, Play N Trade. Disgusting. I'd rather go to GameStop, and I can't stand them. Seriously, why are people still pressuring for this company to do well?

went to 3 outta 4 play n trades in the area. I dont see them lasting long. The one advantage they have is retro games, the 3 stores I went to had a terrible selection, and the few games they had were mostly ebay priced, to top it off, they were just placed anywhere, like afterthoughts.

The stores all looked like poor man's gamestops. This is contrast with the play n trade in columbus, ga, which has the retro section front and center, and easy access to them, and a display case for rare games. Only that store employed a bunch of teen bimbos that barely spell nintendo, let alone be of any kind of help. The people today werent much better, most of them seemed to busy twidling their thumbs. None of them knew about the march sale, it was even in the window of one of the stores!

The one that just opened near me had a good retro selection, and pretty good prices too. I picked up mgs, parasite eve, friday the thirteenth and chrono cross all for 30 bucks. the only thing that seemed overpriced was Legend of zelda on nes for 25 bucks.

It always depends on who runs them. Obviously, you have a horrible owner for whatever store you've visited. I have five stores in my area, 3 out of 5 are excellently run stores with great pricing, selection and location. The other 2, however, rarely have anything new in stock (one of them has had the same stock since November of 2007) and are horribly off-course from any highways. They are also both run by people who know nothing about games and have a "I only started this store to get rich" mentality.

Play N Trade stores are very YMMV when it comes to the stores being good and it is all due to the franchise nature of the corporation. The owners of the stores reserve the right to price games as they please and hire whatever idiots they choose. I guess I'm lucky that majority of the stores in my area are staffed by intellegent workers and owned by smart businessmen (who'd rather sell a cheap game fast than let an overpriced one rot on the shelf).

As for this Retro Month deal, looks like I'll have to eat my words. Two of my area's stores are participating. I picked up a few games this weekend:

Zelda: Wand of Gamelon (CD-i) - $7.99
Earthbound (SNES) - $31.99
Street Fighter Collection (PS1) - $11.99

Wow grats on the earthbound. That's a steal. I picked up a mint complete copy of Alundra 2 (PS) which made me happy
