Pretty much. I like games coming out on Fridays instead of Sundays or even Tuesdays. Good way to start off the weekend. They havent since Wii U came it it seems.

I love that they do this. Instead of buying a game and only getting a taste of it and then having to wait until the weekend to play it, I can now buy a game and play it all weekend basically uninterrupted.Deader2818, on 09 Mar 2014 - 5:41 PM, said:
Sony and Nintendo now release first party games on friday. Not really sure why.
I'm just making this up but I wonder if it was a ploy by the movie studios to try and separate the release dates for motion pictures (i.e movie theaters) and physical releases... and since film likely had more power then music and later video games the other two piggy backed on movies knowing that most consumers would already be in stores on Tuesday.I think the idea comes from the fact that most people play games on the weekend, so it just makes sense to try and sell them at the beginning of the weekend.
Honestly I've always felt that Tuesday was a random day to release things, Friday makes more sense to me personally, and it seems the trend is catching on a bit more as Blu-ray/DVD releases on Friday are becoming a bit more frequent as well.
Never thought of it like that, there could definitely be a grain of truth in there somewhere!I'm just making this up but I wonder if it was a ploy by the movie studios to try and separate the release dates for motion pictures (i.e movie theaters) and physical releases... and since film likely had more power then music and later video games the other two piggy backed on movies knowing that most consumers would already be in stores on Tuesday.
Of course this was before the internet.
And of course that could be 100% false.
I like it. Makes a lot of sense. Gonna give that as the reason why things release on tuesday if it ever comes up in conversation.I'm just making this up but I wonder if it was a ploy by the movie studios to try and separate the release dates for motion pictures (i.e movie theaters) and physical releases... and since film likely had more power then music and later video games the other two piggy backed on movies knowing that most consumers would already be in stores on Tuesday.

Welcome to the club. Solid bundle plus Costco has a great return policy so you basically get to try it for free. They were unpacking PS4s at Costco when I walked through the electronics section. Cracked and grabbed one since I had a $305 reward check from my Costco Amex.
Decent bundle with a second controller and a year of PS+ for $489.99.
Yep. Though I won't return it beyond having defects as I've been set on PS4 as my next gen platform for quite a while. I also get some extra warranty from using my Costco Amex to pay for it(after the reward check).Welcome to the club. I'm still going on strong![]()
This.I can in the forceable see future getting an update that shuts off the light for the move which I feel would increase the battery life 10 fold.
Yep, I cracked.
I have the backlog mostly thinned out of must plays though. On PS3 I really just need to finish up Beyond Two Souls, and play the Infamous games--there I'm leaning toward just playing the 2nd one and ditching the first. I'd probably be burnt out and not want to play Second Son if I play both.
You bought it from Costco. You've got nothing to worry about. I have read stories on slickdeals of people returning xbox 360 to pick up the slim model and a $200 GC.I probably won't grab Second Son anytime soon. I try not to buy single player stuff at launch as there's just no rush to get to it and it will be cheaper in a few months. Especially in this case since I want to play at least one of the first couple games before hand.
Good to know on the Amex warranty. Still better than nothing. And maybe I could get more since I bought around $200 worth of other stuff that trip too, so they may not be able to argue that the whole $300 reward check went toward the PS4.![]()
Wow...Really need to finish Lightning Returns and AC4 before this game comes out...

I'm picking it up, this is one of my most anticipated games releasing this year. Also, anyone know when the reviews will start rolling out? I'm really hoping it does well.So how many are picking up Second Son at release? I still have infamous 2 to get through (and I didn't love the 1st one) so I'm gonna wait for a sale.
It will be glorious. Even though I'm in the middle of playing Titanfall, I can't wait to get my hands on Infamous. My guess is that reviews will come out early next week. Maybe even this weekend if Sony feels confident about it.Wow...

Have it preorder, Super excited for this game. I enjoy both 1 & 2! I can't wait to see what the other powers will be. Anyone have any guesses? In the IGN gameplay, it showed an enemy having some sort of Rock power. So I'm thinking that could possibly be something. So how many are picking up Second Son at release? I haven't looked in the details about the karma system, but if the past two games in the series are any indication, it will require at least 2 playthroughs to get all the trophies. I actually liked that aspect; it's like experiencing two different storylines in the same game. I've platted the last two by being a goodie-two-shoes on my first playthrough and then being a total dick for my second. Will likely tow that same line if everything about karma is the same. Also how will all of you be playing? Good or evil?
Yea if you are a trophy hunter, best bet is to play good first time through on an easier difficult, then play evil through hard play through. Also how will all of you be playing? Good or evil?

Consoles do not fall under the 90 day return period. I had this confirmed by my local store manager.I don't have experience with it myself since I obtain my consoles with funny money at other places but last BF while waiting in line at Target, the dude next to me told me how he recently returned his RROD 360 at Costco to get full return value years after his purchase there. We were both unsure how that worked since the return period is officially down to 90 days but he said they processed his return anyway ::shrug::
inFamous is more tedious to play with "Good" kharma since you can't kill civilians and keep up the "Good." When you're in the middle of objectives, civilians get in the way so it's easier to just blow through anything and play with "Bad" kharma. You don't have to worry about maintaining your kharma as "Bad" whenever you're tossing grenade powers towards enemies while anybody nearby can get caught up in the mix![]()
Agreed. IMO, DS4 is light years ahead of DS3. My only gripes are battery life, my sticks are starting wear and the L1 button is starting to stick. I know there have been a few other CAGs that have experienced some of these issue as well. Otherwise, the DS4 is greatly improved over the DS3.So I've been using the Dualshock 4 since Nov/Dec (no PS4, used on PS3) and I feel I can give a better 'first impressions' on it now. First, I absolutely love it. The new D-pad curve down in middle fits the thumb great. The analog sticks feel great and the grove was a good addition. The L2/R2 triggers are awesome and can rest fingers there fine, and no slipping when pressing them down like DS3. The 4 face buttons are a little closer together which makes it easier to hit one then the other. The size and grip are good. I hear the battery life is bad, but I have it plugged in via 6ft cord. Also no glow when using on PS3. The PS button is in the same spot, that matters. And a headphone jack (normal jack!) is right there on the controller. The touchpad seems bad because I can't tell if I'm hitting the middle or left/right 'button' when clicking it down, but have never used it in a game yet (no PS4).
Now for my gripes. The select and start buttons are horrible. I still call them that because I'm using the controller on a PS3 and I have to hit select for map and start for pause/options etc. After 3-4 months, my thumbs still struggle to find them, I have to look down at the controller to hit them. This isn't cool. They just don't stick out so I'm either pressing nothing or the touchpad and the game isn't responding so I have to look down and finally press the start/select. Maybe I'll get used to it one day, but I really don't like those share/options buttons.
As for the R1 button, some games I've been playing have you hold down the R1 and it's very cramped if you also have to be using the face buttons. Small issue if you can just remap to R2, but just something to think about.
it's pretty impressive that both systems still do pretty well when other then tomb raider nothing has really came out since nov. Pretty excited to see march numbers with both systems getting their first main title in stores.Looks like February was another strong month for PS4.

i do like the spin that the Xbox One has "made more money"
NPD is only the United States, the sales divide between the two is actually quite larger. It still amazes me that Xbox lost the US. Even my cousins and step-brothers who are huge Xbox 360 fans made the switch to PS4.Looks like February was another strong month for PS4.

Yeah, i think Sony is up at least 2 million world wide or something. Though the sales in Japan hasn't been strong and its actually selling slower than when the Wii U launched.NPD is only the United States, the sales divide between the two is actually quite larger. The NPD numbers are great for both. The Xbone had a nice comeback after that horrid January they had. I expect them to come out on top for March though with Titanfall. I would be very surprised if they didn't.Looks like February was another strong month for PS4.

Eh, i dunno. People are buying Titanfall but people don't seem to be buying Xbox One to play titanfall. At least in my area stores are still fully stocked with Xbox Ones while PS4s are still hard to find. And PS4 does have Infamous coming out.The NPD numbers are great for both.
