I am pretty sure Microsoft paid EA very well for the Titanfall exclusive at that time when the deal was made. EA loves money so the decision to make it an exclusive has to be well thought out of in the first place. But now when the dust has settled, it was the wrong choice for EA given what the insider has reported:
