I think it's safe to say Drive Club is done for at this point. It was announced today that the Game Director has left the project combined with the layoffs this might be it for EVO.

 
I think it's going to end up getting canned as well.  Either that or it's going to get released and be a horrible game...  We're already at two delays, had people left and people quit.  I'm guessing this played at least a small factor in dropping GT6 on PS3 last year, they figured they'd have DC to last until GT7 was ready. You have to believe Sony is kicking themselves now over that decision.

They really should have just waited another 6-12 months before releasing GT6 and had it debut on PS4.  It would have only strengthened their sales and there was really no reason to release it on PS3 anyway.

I hope you are right but I think this is just a run of the mill PR statement. What timeline? Did they ever announce a timeline? Last we heard in February they were going back to the drawing board.

P.S. Facebook just bought Oculus Rift. It's up to Sony and Valve to save VR.

What the heck is Facebook going to do with Oculus?!?!? Dang I was looking forward to what they were doing, hopefully Sony can save it with the PS4

Read some of Zuckerdouche post about the buy and basically sounds like oculus will be left alone until after they get the gaming vr bit done, they are looking at it beyond that to do crazy teleconference type stuff.

This! I actually pass on GT6 coz of it not next gen. They really should have just released it for ps4. Probably would have sold more console units.

I hate to break it to you guys, but Last Guardian is never going to live up to anyone's expectations and will probably fall short. Games that are in development for long periods of times end up being huge disappointments.

Duke nukem? But seriously i still believe last guardian will still do well. Wasnt it mention somewhere that its coz the last gen couldnt handle the what the team wanted the game to be like gameplay and graphically wise? Heck i know the trailer we saw was probably cgi, maybe they really wanted the game to feel and play like the trailer or something.
 
Ugh let's not bring up Last Guardian ever again until anything real comes to fruition.  Biggest cocktease ever.  Maybe in the history of gaming.
 
What is Agent? Did not about that one. Is it like Prey 2?

The hidden ending in Kingdom Hearts 2 on PS2 back in 2005/6, no KH3 still. Also Versus 13 ----> Final Fantasy 15.

Wow, almost forgot about that one. I'm surprised it has not been announced as canceled, I guess we can hope it made the jump to the current gen.

Apparently during a show on CNN Turk PlayStation Turkey Vice President and Market Manager at Sony Eurasia Sercan Sülün said that The Last of Us will be coming to PS4 with enhanced graphics and Left Behind this summer as discovered by NeoGAF user Quirah.

Around the 36:00 mark of the show, that can be seen here, the host was chatting withSülün about the BAFTA awards, and asked the executive if we’ll see a sequel of The Last of Us soon. Sülün replied “No, a sequel is not coming right now as far as I know, but I can say that the first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy, with enhanced graphics.”

Another NeoGAF user, Heavy’s Sandvich, also confirmed the translation.

While this comes from a Sony executive, it wouldn’t be the first time that a local exec gets something like this wrong, so I’d still consider it a rumor until it gets officially announced by one of the main branches of Sony Computer Entertainment.

Of course the move would make perfect sense, especially considering that The Last of Us achieved amazing critical success (basically overshading everything else at every award ceremony for 2013), sold over six million copies, and is generally loved by fans.

We reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment for a clarification on the issue, and we’ll keep you updated if they’ll respond with anything relevant.

Sony should have released the last of us as a ps4 only exclusive game. It would have been huge, especially since they are lacking right now in that department.

 
I hope The Last of Us movie ends up being good, because when the comics came out I bought a bunch hoping that someday they'd make a movie and now they are...so hopefully they become pretty valuable. lol

Smart thinking man. I did the same thing too, only thing is I bought one of each edition and sold it after a month the last issue came out. I sold it on ebay for 45 bucks.

Yeah, issue #1 was selling pretty good when it first came out but then it started dying down...hopefully I made the right choice.

Got invited as well. Also, I may be one of the few, but man I was disappointed in Last of Us. What is so great about it? The opening sequence is fantastic, the surprise later on in the game ( those who have played it know what I mean) was a nice surprise, but overall the gameplay was alright. It didn't do anything revolutionary and it was a zombie game without zombies. Another thing that is funny is there are a few episodes of the Xfiles that have to do with mold/ fungus monsters that reminded me of Last of Us and I wasn't too impressed with the actual enemies you fight. I don't understand the circle jerk around Last of Us. Once I finished it, I never ever EVER wanted to play through it again. It was actually pretty boring. I don't need avalanches and helicopters shooting rockets or anything over the top to have fun in games and I am not a COD/ Madden drone that only play a few games a generation. I played 284 games over the last generation (according to PSN Profiles) and I finished (not platted) about 80% of them and I don't even think I would put Last of Us in my top 25 and I am confident in thinking that I wouldn't put it in my top 50, but I would have to go through my list first to confirm this.

The Last of Us is one of my all time favorites. I thought the story was great, I really cared for the characters, I loved the gameplay and how you had to scavenge for supplies. Playing on hard/survival is the only way to go IMO. The soundtrack is also one of the best ever. Not to mention the MP was very good as well.

Haven't gotten the code yet. Also I am happy people enjoyed Last of Us, I don't want everyone to hate it or anything, but for me it was disappointing. I am not trying to reiterate my point, I just wanted to make my reply clear. One thing I can say about TLoU is I am so happy that Sony/ Naughty Dog was able to produce such an acclaimed game leading into the next generation to continue their success with the Playstation. They have come a long way with PS1 and PS2 dominance, to the PS3 mishaps to the PS3 recovery and then to the incredible PS4 launch. Their exclusives are what make me a Sony fan over Microsoft and although games like TLoU and Journey are not for me, I want Sony to keep rolling with fantastic products.

I would be very interested to see a well thought out list of 50 games that you thought were better then TLOU and would be even more entertained to see it picked apart.

I thought about that when I typed it out and I know people would probably hate most of it and I wondered if I could make good enough arguments with it, but I am also considering out of the 284 games, PSN Games, PS Vita games and PS3 games. It also isn't hard for me to feel this way when I put last of us so far down on the list of games that I have played, and I put it at 2nd on the list of the most disappointing games only beaten out by the garbage, trash, piece of overrated shit that is Journey.

I went through my list and found 27 games that I had more fun playing than the Last of Us and then I stopped. I wasn't even 50-75 games through my list and at least for myself, I am convinced that for myself that I had more fun playing at least 50 other games, if not more than I did playing last of us. I mean this could range from any game from any genre. I had more fun playing Tetris with my friends and my girlfriend than I did playing Last of Us. I had more fun playing the R&C HD collection than TLoU. They may not be fair comparisons, because they are wildly different, but undoubtedly I had more fun playing them, and that is what matters.
Uncharted 1,2,3,Golden Abyss, Skyrim, Infamous 1, 2, Festival of Blood, Heavy Rain, Beyond. That's 10 games right there.

So games like DNF and A:CM weren't more disappointing then TLOU? Resident Evil 6 or Kane and Lynch 2 or any other broken games?

I get it if you don't like the genre or don't care about the story or think the story is boring but for it to be the second most disappointed game of the generation above things like I listed above is.... a little out there.

Does a game have to be turn based for you to like it?

I dont think thats what he is speaking about in terms of disappointment. For Colonial Marines and DNF, I dont know if anyone expected those games to be good. It was no surprise, so I could see them not necessarily being disappointing but just generally shitty.

While I strongly disagree with his opinion, I think he has a valid point with TLOU. The gameplay was serviceable and was easily the weakest thing about the game. Especially when compared to the quality of everything else (story, voicework, animation, etc), the act of playing was my least favorite thing. Which is actually similar to how I feel about the Uncharted series also.

People always find hings to complain about in games like this (stealth, hit detection, AI, etc.) but I played a lot of games last generation and can't think of one that played any better and I can think of ones that played a lot worse---especially with the AI.

Lol I didn't play DNF and A:CM. I played RE6 and I didn't count that. I don't know where you get turn based games from, but sure if someone feels that any of those games are more fun than last of us I can't tell them they are wrong, I can only disagree. But for all the praise, all the awards and all the acclaim it received, it was meh at best. I play a wide range of games, the only genre I don't usually play is racing games. Last of Us was boring. The voice acting was great, the back and forth and the banter was well done, but who cares? What does that have to do with the gameplay? People talk about the soundtrack, which I feel fell short, but whatever sure the soundtrack can have a great reception, but what does that have to do with gameplay? The story... come on? I have been playing video games for over 20 years and I have basically seen and heard every story. Most stories are predictable and forgettable and while last of us has that nice little twist in it, it wasn't something that blew my mind like my first time through Bioshock. Not every game has to do something better than every other game, but the obsessive nerdgasm around TLoU in my opinion is far from justified.

 
Every complaint you mention about TLOU is how I feel about Bioshock. Do not understand the love for that boring ass game aside from the setting itself.
