I'm not sure if it's tied to my account, but you can have my $30 off HDX code if you want it (for free).Ugh, I kind of wish I had pre-ordered at Amazon. I've been thinking about getting my parents a Kindle Fire HDX for Christmas or as a retirement present for my dad in particular. He's about to retire from twenty-seven years in the army. He's finally got time to read and shit!

I was able to queue up Contrast, Resogun, Warframe and Sound Shapes, and they're all downloading at the same time. Would've had Resogun by now if I just stuck to 1 at a time.
I saw the rest of the women on my way out - they were all waiting in cars . This includes one very sleepy looking girl in sweats trying to sleep while a baby dozed in the back seat in its carrier. Seriously, dude, you couldn't just go get the PS4 on your own!?samaside said:Yup, my friend who went with me to pick mine up and I were the only two female gamers there. The other 20+ people - including the four employees - were dudes.
Well, Resogun and Contrast to start off. And Flower I guess. I bought Knack which I got on Monday from Amazon. I know the reviews aren't great but I'll play it through. And I should have NBA 2K14 arriving in a few days. Then I might try some of the free-to-play stuff like Warframe (which I played at PAX). I also have Skylanders Swap Force coming but that is for my 6 year-olds birthday next weekend. No, I don't expect the PS4 to dominate my gaming time, but between me and my boys it will get played. I'm still playing Tales of Graces on PS3 and while I may take a couple days off from that I'll probably go back to it.Kenshindono said:to all of you actually stoked about this and waiting in line and stuff... what games are you getting? I still dont have a game to play for this thing.
Yes, indeed. I've always sort of kept it hidden, but yeah, now it is out in the open!YBX87 said:Io , you are 45 yrs old? damn i wish i had a dad who was a gamer, my dad is older than you, but he hates that i play video games.
I don't even think I was a teenager when I had that stuff. I started off playing Pong, then Space Invaders and other arcade games, then got an Atari and yeah, a Colecovision (edit: according to Wikipedia that came out in 1982 - I sure thought it was earlier but if so I probably only played it for a year or so). But I mostly stopped gaming when I was a teenager - certainly while I was an upperclassman in high school (class of 1986) and later at college. But that was sort of when the gaming crash happened so that makes sense. I played computer games a little then (got the first model Mac). I was one of the first people to turn in school papers printed off a computer. The teachers were very skeptical of it - like I was cheating in some way.Indiana Jones said:A 45-year-old gamer makes sense. You would've been a teenager when Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision came out, probably old enough to have the money to buy a game or two. The post-baby boomers grew up on video games so the market has gotten older with them.
im asking what games people bought, because im not finding any worth getting honestly. It looks like ill probably be getting digital games for a whileSerious question. Why in the hell were you silly enough to buy it then if you're posting here asking others why you bought it...?
I've said this 100 times here: there is absolutely no reason to buy a PS4 at launch unless you're a Killzone diehard.
Yea it seems like Knack may be the first game i buy but im not paying full retail for it. Hopefully it drops soon. I keep hearing about Resogun i guess i better look into it. I was hoping Octodad would be launch but i guess its not. My niece LOVED the demo for it. Like i said i really wish i could at least play my PSN games, even just the PS1 classics or something on this thingWell, Resogun and Contrast to start off. And Flower I guess. did you ask bestbuy CEO Hubert Joly to autograph your ps4 too?So I just had a interesting evening. Strolled in at 12:05am at my local Best Buy. Went to the .com line to pickup my preorder and my local store had the CEO Hubert Joly visiting. Store employees introduced me personally to him since I'm a regular and I introduced myself as a loyal Premier Silver Best Buy shopper. He corrected me on it as being an Elite Plus member and thanked me for patronage. It was probably because Hubert was there but the employees were cheering every customer that was walking out with their system in hand with a carpet walk like we were celebrities or something. They even busted out the finish line tape for me.
I walked out with my .com preorder in 15 minutes and a guy that was waiting outside of the store offered me money for my preorder. He looked genuinely stressed and relieved since his son wanted a system tonight. Took the deal. I became a little pensive when the guy asked me to follow him to the bank a few miles away since he didn't have enough cash on him. While driving I snapped a picture of my serial number and his license plate to email out as back up in case something happened to me. Went smoothly as my ass didn't get beaten - yay for me. My store had over 200 tickets to give out to everyone and sold out of their extra allotment. All of my local Gamestops has sold out of their extras too.
Based on how fast this system was flying off the shelves tonight, the PS4 launch will be a success by the looks of it.
yeah, i agree. i would of told the guy to go get the money from his bank, and come back while i wait for him at bestbuy. How much extra did you make?
Also, you took a big risk following this guy to the bank. I would not recommend doing that again. A good way to get lured into an ambush.
I am about 90 miles north of NYC and mine shipped from Pennsylvania. I would be willing to bet you will get it Saturday, but I think it would have to come FedEX as UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday here. All in all it moved from Horsham, PA to my local facility in a little over 5 hours.sooo i ordered a ps4 at midnight est on amazon but my card was declined, but I had a feeling it would, I just wanted the damn ps4 in my order page. I just updated it with a working debit card like 20 mins ago. Am i still gonna get it on saturday?(I have saturday dellivery and the closest distribution center to me is in nj, im in ny, so i should be all good and get it tomorrow then right?
Hahah I loved that. Very very cool of Sony to tip their cap to GAF and the rest of the online gamer community. Shows that they are paying attention.Shu did that Antonio Banderas thing at the end! XD
If you have an AMEX credit card save your money and pay with that. You will get a 2nd year of warranty coverage just by paying with AMEX. Personally, I think warranties are not worth it. Most issues are DOA and that is already covered by the manufacturer's warranty.Anyone going to get a Squaretrade warranty for their PS4? Or any extended warranty for that matter?
Shit - I should have! I would have posted up a pic on CAG to share or at least something I could take home with medid you ask bestbuy CEO Hubert Joly to autograph your ps4 too?
EDit: how much did you sold it to the guy for?
$550. I searched craigslist ads on my smartphone right on the spot and after scanning the low end of the prices that was my first offer (not having realized I should have started higher and negotiate down). Based on his reaction, I clearly could have gotten more. I just wasn't prepared to negotiate on the spot like that as I was caught offguard so I took his first offer. I did indeed become paranoid about the ambush behind the bank parking lot so I was at least swift enough to snap photos to send to my wife before I got out of my car.How much extra did you make?

What are the dimensions of the box that the ps4 is in?
Just don't panic if it stays that way for quite a bit, because from other CAGS experience as well as my own, it could stay that way for up to 12 hours (mine was on "Now Shipping" for about 12 but right before 5pm EST it shipped). A few people had even longer but it appears from perusing this thread they will receive theirs on time.Just checked my amazon order-
Preparing for Shipment
Pinball Arcade.I've said this 100 times here: there is absolutely no reason to buy a PS4 at launch unless you're a Killzone diehard.
I've usually found that walmart is a good place to go for console launches, I barely even see anyone line up.They had 9 extras at wal-mart, I waited in line for 10min, hardly anyone showed up.
Where I work, typically it just means someone has to sign for it, give their name, and maybe show I.d. Ups puts this in their system so that when you call, and say you don't have your box, they can tell you who has it.Tracking isn't that helpful though. It will just say "out for delivery". I asked the leasing office when the UPS guy normally comes, and they around 11. I don't have class at that time, so maybe I'll just wait in the office if that isn't too weird.
I know that it requires a signature because it says " Leave At: Management Office
Based on the selected Leave At instructions, a signature will be obtained for the delivery of this package."
I am in a very similar boat at 42. My dad and uncle co-owned a computer/electronics/salvage store when I was growing up, and my dad brought us home all sorts of electronics. We had Pong, Atati, Colecovision (I would have said it came out in 82 or 83). Plus (pardon the pun), I got an Apple II + in 1981. Around 1985/86 he brought me home an Atari ST computer, so I wound up playing that and skipping the Nintendo Entertainment System. All of the other gamers swear by Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania, etc. but I never played those. When I got off to college I got the Sega Genesis, and Sega CD. I wound up getting gamer roommates in college who among them had the Super Nintendo, NeoGeo, Atari Jaguar, Turbo Grafix 16, 3DO, Sega 32X, and Sega Saturn. I had an original Sony Playstation imported from Japan. The only way I could get American games to work on it was to put a spent bullet that I had on the button that let the PS1 know the CD door was closed, then open the door while a Japanese game was running, remove the Japanese game, and replace it with the American game I wanted to play. Then I got a Nintendo 64, a Sega Dreamcast, an Original launch day Xbox, and an Xbox 360. The only major game systems I have never owned or had access to are The Intellivision, NES, Game Cube, PS2, Wii, PS3, and Wii U.Yes, indeed. I've always sort of kept it hidden, but yeah, now it is out in the open!

They had 30 extra at the Best Buy I preordered at, and they went fast. had to turn a lot of people away. They had 9 extras at wal-mart, I waited in line for 10min, hardly anyone showed up.
I'm in nw ct, and ditto on the pa ship. First time I remember anything coming from that center.I am about 90 miles north of NYC and mine shipped from Pennsylvania. They boxed my ps4 and Lego together...even though they were different orders.PS4 is on it's way to my house. Lego Marvel looks like it should be but I don't know if it will. It ing better seeing I paid retail and release day prime on it (it's coming via ups so I wont get it saturday either most likely if it doesn't come today).
What is the rule if your prime item doesn't arrive on time?

I believe that UPS listed it as 10.6 lbs for my vanilla PS4 console package.Question: For those who ordered at Amazon, what is your shipping weight listed via your delivery carrier?
Amazon description says it should be around 9.1 lbs but mine says that it is 10.4 lbs. From watching Amazon packing video, their is no way that the air packets account for that much weight. Just curious while I wait for UPS.
me and you both io. I am 41Well, this very old (since I fall into the end of that range) guy is about to go pick up his already paid-off GS preorder .

Today I get my PS4, and next week I'll get my Xbox One.
Old people?its going to be like this until the week is over. Sony marketing has been A++, games sucks but people are buying just to buy. the hype is strong on this one. I know people who didn't even consider buying one until today like old people in their 30s-40s. At work people kept asking where to pick one up.
I can wait to pick it up for you.Out for Delivery but I need to head out to work.
