Looks like reports are the Joey Harrington is CLOSER to be traded to the DOLPHINS. I really hope Detroit pulls the string soon. I thought Denver migth be moving in position to trade for him since they acquired MORE picks. Miami only has a 6th or 7th to offer.....but something is better than nothing.
Chad Johnson cashed in.

$35.5 million through 2010-11

The most solid reciever in the NFL gets hs money.
I wouldn't say the most solid, but he's up there. Marvin Harrison and Torry Holt get my vote, both have speed, height, great hands, and good blocking skills.

draft is in 1 week, cant wait to see how the top picks unfold. hopefully it unfolds in a way that the raiders get vince young or matt leinart (leinart is a long shot though, with the jets and all)

the steal of the draft (since he probably wont go top 15) is in my sig

Had he come out any other year, he probably would be a top 5 pick. But he had to come out in a year like this, where he will probably be overlooked by many. I wouldn't be surprised if he landed in Denver. And if he doesn't go then, you're looking into the late 20s. The lower he goes, the bigger the steal.

i forgot denver had that 15 pick, he'll either go there, minnesota, new england, or SF if he lasts that long. If the colts somehow pick him up, that would be a great replacement for edge
I can't believe the Giants signed Arrington. I don't know how I feel about this...
They overpaid mightily for an oft-injured linebacker who loves to freelance. I say this is one of the worst signings of the offseason.

I'm not sure if Minnesota would use a 1st round pick for a RB this year, as they have Chester Taylor and Onterrio Smith (if he doesn't get busted again). While the playmaker potential is there for Williams, I think they pick up a QB (if somehow one of the big 3 make it to them) over a RB.

But he won't go further than New England, if only to give the Colts hope of getting him. I don't really see San Fransico taking him, but they'll surprise a lot of people with their picks, I'm sure.

And if the Colts do pick him up, I'll be happy for Dungy, as he filled the hole he lost. But I will still despise the Colts, as I am tired of hearing about them day in and day out, and plus if they're on, non of the double headers schedule matter. So when they're on tv, we only get one game in that time slot.

It looks like the Packers are probably going to get Hawk unless Williams somehow falls to 5, I like em both though. Maybe we can deal Javon Walker and get a 1st or 2nd rd pick.

Maybe... I'm not worried about him freelancing though - just staying healthy. The Giants don't usually sign players like this so I'd like to think there is a real reason for it. He is very much incentivized to play hard with Strahan, Osi and Pierce. The Giants are going to be awesome.
I can't believe the Giants signed Arrington. I don't know how I feel about this...
you should feel good...he is going to start alongside his ex redskin teammate Antonio Pierce and now with the return of Brandon Short..the giants shored up all needs in their LB Corps...also LaVarr wanted to sign with Gmen just to play the Skins twice and play under tim lewis...so a new begining is what he might just need...anyway .with lavarr this makes one less pos to worry about because of the surplus of LBs they have now...there is no need ot worry about Lavarr's health if you have Short or Torbor or Griesen if he comes back to fill the void..If they are worried about his health expect them to draft either Bobby Carpenter or Ernie Sims...i dont think the giants want to have the same problem as they did in the playoffs when they even had to go as far as to sign Jay Foreman off the street to play for them.

I saw on ESPN today, they were deciding between Bush and Mario Williams.

adam schefter reports also said that williams want to be with the saints than the texans. he doesn't care about being the #1 pick and wants to play with the saints. now, bush to houston is pretty much a done deal barring a trade.

BUSH OR TRADE

BUSH IS A TEXAN

All But Signed

After months of pre-draft speculation, the end is almost in sight. According to a source familiar with the team, the Texans are targeting Friday as the date to announce an agreement reached on a contract with USC running back Reggie Bush. The team then intends to make Bush the first selection in the draft on Saturday.

Terms aren't officially known, but the deal is expected to be for five years with an option for a sixth, the maxmium allowed for the top pick by the new collective bargaining agreement. Bush is expected to receive roughly $24.6 million in guaranteed money if the league approves the contract. The NFL Network reported on Wednesday that overall the deal is worth an estimated $49 million total over the six years.

General manager Charley Casserly said on Wednesday that the team had previously narrowed their choices down to Bush and N.C. State defensive end Mario Williams. He said the they had eliminated Texas quarterback Vince Young from serious consideration some time ago, but not until after new head coach Gary Kubiak had a chance to confirm that he was willing to go with David Carr as his quarterback. Casserly also said that the team had not received any substantive trade offers for the top selection that met their demands.

Should Bush be the Texans' first pick as expected, he will be the first running back selected at the top of the draft since 1995 when the Bengals chose Ki-Jana Carter. The last time a Houston team selected a running back first overall came in 1978 when the Oilers chose Earl Campbell.
I still to see D'Brick to Saints.
nah he will go to the jets...Brick wants to play in NY because he came from NY...If the saints pass up a replacement for Darren Howard there even more screwed than last year..so they cant pass up on Williams.

The biggest pick that will shake the rest of the draft is the Saints. If they trade, pick Mario, or draft D'Brick, that will alter everything. Also, i'm hoping the Jets pick Leinart.

They could use a solid tackle for their o-line a little more than a defensive lineman. Though Willaims' talent may overwhelm their need.

Yahoo has a new mock draft up: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...F?slug=cr-mockdraft042706&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Viking got some new uniforms. They look pretty good.
Pretty decent IMO.

I'll be glad when the draft is over. I swear these "experts" have over-analyzed this thing to to the point that I am sick of it.

bad time for info like this to come out. Maybe it will sway the Texans to make the right decision and select Vince Young
I dunno, I think the Texans would be crazy to pass up on Bush. Vince Young has the chance to be pretty damn good, but it's going to take time for him to adjust to the NFL game. And Carr deserves more time to show what he can do with a good offense around him.

I think people have just gotten too wrapped up in the Vince Young hype and forgot about how much Bush will improve the Texans offense. Sure you can say they won't be successful without a good offensive line, but they can address that in the other rounds of the draft.

You have to go BPA, and Bush is clearly the best.

i'm not worried about bush's problems.

well i finished all of my schoolwork until finals. here it is, the PLAYMAKER'S mock draft. You guys critique or bash my picks of ur favorite team. here it is....

1. Houston – Reggie Bush RB (the best playmaker in the draft. kubiak will get bush about 20+ touches a game through from running, catching, and the return game)

2. New Orleans – Mario Williams DE (take the next julius peppers. People have eyeing b/c of his pass rush, run support, size and strength to play any D-line position. You can’t never have enough pass rushers and also charles grant is in his last year of his contract.

3. Tennessee – Vince Young QB (Floyd Reese must loving that he drops to him at number he’s a playmaker at the QB with his arm and legs. He has the “IT” factor which makes coaches intrigue. The titans must be the an offense around VY’s strengths.)

4. New York Jets – D-brick Ferguson LT (franchise LT, a better version of Matt Light. pro bowler for 10 years. Maybe the best footwork of a LT I have ever seen.)

5. Green Bay – A.J Hawk 4-3 SLB OR 3-4 ILB (the next urlacher, enough said)

6. San Francisco – Vernon Davis TE (Alex Smith needs more weapons and davis provides them the big threat. He could a faster version of Antonio Gates.)

7. Oakland – Matt Leinart QB (stays in the California who has Good arm but just great accuracy and touch on his throws. He’s the next Tom Brady in my opinon and that’s saying a lot)

8. Buffalo – Haloti Ngata 3-4 NT OR 4-3 DT (very strong player, going to be a great player if he can stay consistant with guidance of Dick Jauron. Takeo Spikes and London Fletcher can now make more plays with the line being clogged up.)

9. Detroit – Michael Huff CB/S (the best DB in the draft, he just makes plays. he's fast and can tackle the hell out of anyone. Huff has perfect size and enough intangibles to play in any DB position)

10. Arizona – Jay Cutler QB (great arm but needs to work on accuracy. He’s a tough kid and he’ll take the reigns of warner in his 3rd year)

11. St. Louis – Brodrick Buckley DT (very strong player, going to be a great player if he can stay consistent)

12. Cleveland – Kamberon Wimbley 3-4 OLB OR 4-3 DE (he’s a tough solid kid with nice pass rushing skills. He’s a bit raw in my opinion but he’s a great talent from FSU. His stock is rising.)

13. Baltimore – Winston Justice RT (he’ll start at RT and will move over to LT when Ogden retires. He’s a top talent at Tackle and he would be #1 Tackle if not D-brick. Baltimore’s line needs to fix up more to protect Boller and open more lanes for lewis and mike anderson.)

14. Philadelphia – Ernie Sims 4-3 WLB (a better version of Dexter Coakley, very athletic and instictive. he loves to deliver hits to anyone with the ball and strong enough to shed blockers. he could be a pro-bowl player in a couple of years. he's going to be a derrick brooks mole.)

15. Denver – Santoino Holmes (great speed, runs nice routes, another weapon for plummer to get to the super bowl. I think holmes should be the pick for the broncos who will guide them towards the ultimate prize)

16. Miami – Chad Jackson (nice WR with very nice speed. Miami needs another WR to help culpepper become what he was in 2004)

17. Minnesota – Chad Greenway 4-3 SLB (very good size at 6-4 and speed. i'm worried about him shedding blockers but he can tackle and blitz)

18. Dallas – Manny Lawson 3-4 LOLB OR 4-3 RDE (parcells wants to win now and wants a great 3-4 olb to pair with Ware.)

19. San Diego – Tye Hill CB (he’s a great CB with skills to handle pass and run. He’s going to be an Antoine Winfield/Ronde Barber type CB in the NFL)

20. Kansas City – Antonio Cromertie CB (the biggest boom or bust pick here. he has all the tools and body for a shutdown corner. He needs more experience and durability is an issue. He could be a Chris McAlister type corner)

21. New England – DeAngelo Williams RB (great RB for New England who has breakaway speed and catch the ball out of the backfield. he does have a lot of carries under his belt though. Tom Brady is thrilled not to throw for 4k yards again.)

22. San Francisco – Bobby Carpenter 4-3 SLB OR 3-4 OLB (49ers need Lb after Peterson and Carter left. Carpenter was overshadowed by Hawk but he has enough abilities and playmaking skills to hold his own. he's a great talent if he has a good coach b/c he doesn’t shed blockers well and doesn’t have good technique)

23. Tamba Bay – Jason Allen CB/S (i think he could be a great cover 2 safety or corner. he has enough athleticism and ability to play any DB position. he's a playmaker on the field but can he stay away from the injury bug)

24. Cincinnati – Jimmy Williams CB/S (they take this CB/S that has been dropping down the boards. They need a good nickelback and future CB after Tory James. Hopefully Marvin Lewis helps along to realize his potential)

25. New York Giants – Eric Winston LT – (great tackle and value at number 25. he could had been top 10 if weren’t his ACL injury. He has all the tools to be a franchise LT)

26. Chicago Bears – Sinorce Moss WR/PR (they badly need an infusion of speed on the Bears to pair with muhammed. He won’t be as good as moss but he’ll do just fine in the NFL.)

27. Carolina – Donte Whitner CB/FS (In the NFL, you need 3 good CBs and Whitner can fill in for Ricky Manning Jr., who departed to Chicago. Whitner was a great playmaker in that strong The Ohio State defense. He can has the flexibility that John Fox can utilize)

28. Jacksonville – Nick Mangold C/G (solid general at Center and very smart player. He could be a Jeff Saturday type player in the NFL. He distinguished how the defense/blitzes are showing/coming from. He can also play guard as well)

29. New York Jets – Laurence Maroney RB (a good replacement for the aging Curtis Martin. He’s a great RB and all-around player that Jets will like)

30. Indianapolis – Joesph Addai RB (they take a reach for need b/c of the departure of the EDGE. Addai could be the 2nd best RB after Bush if can stay healthy. He has nice all-around game that will make the colts don’t remember EDGE.

31. Seattle – Jonathan Joesph CB (Seattle needs another good CB to play alongside with Trufant. he has great potential with the right coaching. he doesnt have good technique and tends to gamble too much)

32. Pittsburgh. – Lendal White RB (well well, pittsburgh is praising its lucky stars with this guy fallen down the boards. A great replacement for the retired Bettis and provides a terrific complement with Fast Willie Parker)

33. Houston – DeMeco Ryans OLB/ILB (he’s doesn’t have great workout numbers but the dude is a great football player playing in that tough SEC conference. He has great instincts and heart to be very successful early and the rest of his career.)

65. Houston – Cedric Griffin CB/FS (can play CB or FS in the NFL. He was overshadowed at UT by a great defense. He can tackle and play great man-to-man coverage. Only negative is his speed which is 4.5 sub range)

66. Houston – Daryn Colledge LT/LG (Has excellent size and the frame to add even more weight...He was 4-year starter and very solid tackle....Has tremendous feet...Moves extremely well and gets to the second level. His pass protection is just awesome but run blocking could use some work. Perfect tackle for zone-blocking scheme in Houston)

Only thing I'd say just from giving it a quick read is that I wouldn't think Philly would pass on Santonio Holmes considering their severe lack of quality receivers.

Also, I've heard the Cowboys are really high on Bobby Carpenter, and he won't make it past them if he's still on the board.

And if the Titans end up choosing Young, they will most definitely struggle for a few seasons until he can make the transition from college to the NFL. Leinart or Cutler will be better sooner, but Young definitely has the most upside of all three QBs.

I think Vince Young is going to be part of the long list of QBs who were great in college and average in the pro's. I wish him the best of luck, but I think he has another thing coming to him. He is no Michael Vick, he actually reminds me of a larger Doug Flutie, and even then ATL still isn't where they could be.

Tomorrow is like the Lions Super Bowl. Once the ball is snapped in the first regular season game its all downhill from there.

sigh....... what can i say for the texans. i'm fine for them choosing mario williams but u don't pick him with the fucking number 1 pick. u take bush or trade down. plain and simple. williams was more of a need position but not a value pick for the transition to 3-4 to 4-3
You guys want Bush, right?
There's five teams after that second pick, though we only know that the Packers, Raiders, and Jets are making offers. I wouldn't be surprised if Denver's in there with their 15th pick up with Ashley Lelie and some later picks for that #2 pick.

I think they could have traded down four or five spots and still picked Williams and possibly gained a first-round pick next year.
