Its the crap original one which isn't too bad of a price since its a game system, phone, MP3 player and a FM radio.
But seeing as it is... crap.. sort of a waste, dont you think?

I definitely do.

Theres just so much wrong with the first version of this phone. The QD corrected most of those

If I can use the discount card for the ones in store, I'm on this like flies on poop. I actually need a new TMobile phone, and that price tops off any that can be had.

If the NGage had more than a handful of games available, it would be worth it. As it is, it's worthless as a console because of the almost nonexistent library...

I still think that it was a good idea. It just died in its execution.

Discount card is only on software, no hardware. And Amazon has the QD for free if you sign a two-year TMobile contract.

Rebate not good on existing numbers.... and my whopping $50 renewal credit from T-Mobile does jack, because I've got to get it through them....

I am not sure why everyone is so down of N-Gage. I have one of the orginals and I love it. I have a bluetooth headset and a 64 MB memory card, so I can download games directly to the phone. Gameloft makes some great games that are available for direct download and they are only $5. Right now I havethe following $5 games:

Blockbreaker
Nightmare Creatures
Rainbow Six 3
Rayman Bowling
Rayman 3
Sexy Poker
Siberian Strike Episodes 1 and 2
Solitaire
Speed Devils
XIII
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Rail Rider
Planet Zero

Since they are direclty on my memory card, I always have them and dont
have to worry about switching cartridges. They are great time killers and if you read the IGN reviews, most have gotten high scores. Don't knock N-Gage until you try it. I thought it sucked at first, but if you need a cell phone, it is the best deal going.

You have admitted to owning an N-Gage. You also admitted to spending $5 on a game called Sexy Poker.

Just start running, I'll try to buy you some time.

My brother in law bought one when they first came out, and I laughed mightily at him.

But he didn't get it to play games. He mainly uses it for MP3s and occasionally to talk on the phone.

Do you guys think it's worth the $60 price tag for the non-gaming features? I honestly don't know much about the N-Gage.

Not from experience, but its supposedly terrible to try to use it as a phone.

Do you like talking into a taco? I guess maybe if you have some fantasy of being Maxwell Smart, this could work.

"Missed it by THAT much!"

Only if I've been drinking enough for the taco to talk back....

edit - somehow it didn't think I typed anything the first time.. odd.

As a pnone alone it's easily worth the $60, let alone a Pnone with MP3 support , FM radio, lets you play homebrewn games. But of corse everyone has to get that "it sucks" joke in, cause, you know, it's cool

No, it's not cool, it's easy.

You know...because it sucks.

So a phone that is a pain in the ass to use, an MP3 player thats a pain in the ass to use, a game console with a very small library (and is a supreme pain in the ass to change cartridges on)... just because it has alot of features, if they all suck.. its still shit.
Do you like talking into a taco?
Double entendres ABOUND! (My mind really needs to stay out of the gutter, lol).

Before they were released, the guys at EB had a store demo they were passing off to everyone in the store. I tried playing Tomb Raider. Man that was an awful five minutes! (I'm surprised I lasted that long.)
why does everyone hate this damn phone..i understand it has flaws but it is still better then 80% of phones out there.
What do you consider "better" about it? As a phone, its much worse than most of whats out there, if you're looking at extra features, yes it has more, but the majority of them are executed very poorly.

thanks OP. ordered.

i wanted the qd but didnt want to spend so much money. i really just want a means of playing wwe after shock and this solves the problem. it would also be a great backup phone should something happen to my phone.

also for the person that has a b;uetooth headset for this phone. which one do you have??

I have it and the Jabbra 250 bluetooth headset. it works like a charm. The features are actually very easy to use. The menus are easy to navigate and access. I recommed a memory card as well. I have a bunch of games on my memory card, so I don't even worry about changing cartridges. Also, you can copy files direclty from your PC to the memory card if you have a card reader. I have pictures of my wife and kids as my wallpaper. I imagine you could do the same with MP3 and Real Player files.

I will admit it is not the easiest thing to talk on w/o the headset, but if you have the headset, all of that goes away. $60 is a steal. The d/l games are good and they actually have some decent looking ones cmoing out as well. Try finding a tri-band, bluetooth enabled, USB cable, MP3 playing , calendar, calculator and speakerphone for $60 anywhere else.

yea i know. i have a 3650 which i use to copy files from and to my computer. i sync them with bluetooth. i love my phone. can you give me a link to the headset you recommend. i know it will most probably work with my 3650 as well.

Anyone know if the n-Gage will work with prepaid cingular? I wouldn't mind getting a 2nd one as an extra backup for relatives...
Yep. Nokia just couldn't execute on this one...
They didn't have to, it killed itself :D j/k

They obviously didn't do enough market testing or research. There are just too many things wrong with it IMO.

Nokia definitely made a lot of mistakes, but it is good to see them try to fix the mistakes by releasing the QD. It has potential and you can see it in games like ONE, Pocket Kingdom and Pathway to Glory. The N-Gage will never replace the GBA/SP, but as an multifunction unit, it is pretty darn good.

That's a very convincing arguement... from someone who hasn't used one.

At $60 it's worth it, all "it sucks, please like me!" jokes aside.

He does have a point, most of those games are pretty fun. Poker is kinda fun :)

You're right. I think I'll go with a "I am far superior to you, thus your opinion is worth less than nothing, peon!" attitude instead. :p

Used one... hell I own one, got it on release date. And it still blows monkey nuts. I put it along with the Jaguar and every gimmicky controller I've bought (Fishing Reel, Baseball Bat, etc) in the shit I wasted way too much cash on pile.
