ok. im having a little trouble in choose which pokemon color to choose, ruby or sapphire? personally i like blue, and heard it was better. but whats your opinion? way then it was red blue, then gold and silver, NOW RUBY AND SAPPHIRE? why cant they make 1 frickin game. like yellow? or crystal..

I always went with the one that had the cooler pokemon on the front...I would choose Ruby if I got it...But maybe thats just me...I quit playing after I got Silver and Gold...It just got too repetitive...I am going to purchase the remakes of Red and Blue though...classics all the way

I never bought either of them. I liked the other ones but felt that the newer version would be too similar. I still play the others but do not plan to buy any more. I heard that Ruby was better.

Only played Sapphire and have enjoyed it (but only because my son got Ruby, not by choice).

I think the legendary bird is cooler in Sapphire.

I'm a bit partial to Mawile and Zangoose, who are only available in Ruby though.

Finally, I think Kyogre takes Groudon any day!

Wow..theyve gone way to far with the names...It used to be charmander (char - fire) geodude (geo - earth) they made sense...those are just out there...

I hated all the new names at firs toot. After getting Sapphire, I played for about 3 hours and didn't touch it for about a year, due to repetitiveness. However, recently picked it up and been addicted. The "new" pokemon have grown on me a bit.

Still think Silver is the all-time best.

When do Leaf green and Fire Red come out?

A clerk at Gamestop told me Early August, but I thought it was early September.

Blue was my first, so I got Sapphire (to keep it uniform ). I also liked the pokemon that Sapphire verision had. Just check out the pokemon that are unique to each game (including the legendary pokemon) and see which ones you like better. It was hard for me to get used to the newer pokemon, but if you enjoyed the original ones I think you'll be happy with either choice. :)

Pokemon is a game that is highly frowned upon by most people...they think its a stupid kiddy game and are influenced by people that think its childish...I for one dont care...I love the game and recognize its a solid RPG (for pocket gaming)...thats my shpiel

Ditto. I was about 15 when I first played Blue, and I just had a lot of fun playing. I even watched the first season or two of the tv series when they were first airing it over here. One should never be influenced by what other people say. Experience it and decide for yourself, is what I say.

the TV show was awesome. After they started going on different adventures and had the movie I lost interest in the show.

Saffire was actually my first pokemon game as I never owned a Nintendo handheld before

what as so good about silver...i played red/blue/yellow to death back in the day...but then they started getting stupid with all the new pokemons etc that i stopped

It is so addictive trying to "Catch them all"

The newer games have made it tough (i.e. Feebas, Milotec, and all the exact Poke-Block making! etc.) although still not perfect.

I like that you can put some older ones from Colosseum (Quilava, Croconaw, Bayleef, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, etc) onto Ruby/Sapphire, too. Renewed my interest

I could never watch the show as Ash's voice always bugged me

wow, i think i might be interested in the new firered and leaf green, since i loved blue red and yellow, but after that it got gay, i am so glad they bringin back the ghetto oldness in the pokemon games :) thats a good thing on what they are doing, but i dont get why the hell they always have to have 2 frickin verions.. why cant it be Firegreen, or Leafred? loll. get my point plz. it gets tired to get 2 games to get both pokemon, or have to have a friend who has it play.. which some people wont have friends who play

because the point of the two versions is to get your friend to get one and you the other so you can get more enjoyment out of the game by trading between your friends

ahh, i see, but people who have friends who dont even care about games, more or less pokemon. unless your a fat geek then yes. :) ima persuade my gf to get the opposite version of pokemon so we can "play" together.

Does anyone have a recomendation for a good first Pokemon game for GBA/GBC? I pretty much missed all of the games. Back when they first came out I always felt that I was too old to be playing the pokemon games so I never gave them a try, but I've been hearing a lot of good things about them so I figured I might as well give one a try, and I'm old enough now to really not give a rat's ass about the whole "kiddy" association that the games have.

each are the same...like red is the same as blue and so on...they just have different pokemon...I guess Yellow because there wasnt another color

not yellow, crystal is the bomb. i sappose you could get yellow if you dont like the new pokemon, and the new new pokemon. in japan they arlready starting to have new new new pokemon. after rubysapphire. :( so repative. o well, crystal i think is still the best. besides yellow :)

Of those two, I think it depends on which Pokemon you'd like more: the blue (water) or the red (fighting). I personally liked the blue guy more (Kyogre or something).
