Pokemon Black and White: General Discussion and Info: For Real This Time

I am 31 hours into Pokemon White since I picked it up on Sunday. I...can't.....put...it....DOWN! Caught 90 of the new pokemon and am working on getting the rest very soon.

Sawk. Definitely Sawk. It barely looked like a Pokemon, and its name is ridiculous, but it can kick a TON of ass.

Also, for anyone whos beaten White, Im looking to borrow a Thundurus to be able to get Landarus. Im willing to put up collateral, and I can let you do the same for Tornadus.

Anyone have the game but holding off playing it? Midterms are this month so I'm not playing til spring break because once I start I wont be able to stop...

I'm in that boat. Forcing myself to wait until next Friday when my last final is. Reading this thread is not helping at all however.
 
Got to the 7th gym today. Also got vol 1 guide, not really impress with it. It is too bad Nintendo Power stop making guides.
 
I'm about to start playing, been waiting for the HC guide(I know I'm cheating) to get here in the mail. Which is the best to start with...Black or White?

I finished midterms and started break today. Unfortunately I think I bombed my last test :whistle2:#


Anyway, I'm about 4 hours in. My team is
Oshawott (16, used him a lot then not so much so he doesn't get too overleveled)
Lillipup (15, this guy was really useful early on. Plus Pickup is great for getting items. He'll stay on my team as long as possible)
Pansear (13, rarely use. Only time I really did was the first gym)
Munna (10, just use it for Yawn to help catch Pokemon)
Blitzle (16, such a pain to level until it learned Shock Wave)
Pidove (14, need it for all the bugs in the forest and Fly)
 
i started with white and wished i did black first oh well.

My team after 3 badges bout to go to the fourth.

Sawk- lv31
Joltik- lv25
Gothita- lv24
Gigalith- lv29
Darumaka- lv27
Tranquill- lv27

I let my friend borrow my female Dewott

Suggestion for ppl that want all starters or good pokemon from the GTS. If you have a female starter, breed it and trade it on the GTS.
Or use trade pokemon that are exclusive to your version.

Bred some Gothita from a friend and got all starters. Female ones because now i can breed them too.

I can't wait until I get a Deino and then eventually a Hydreigon. The first time I saw Hydreigon I knew he had to be on my team. Too bad you can't catch a Deino until Victory Road and I'm only on my fourth gym badge :whistle2:(
 
Finished the main story last night and changes they made to the structure of the whole elite four and champion were surprisingly nice.

Team, all were lv50 before battle E4
Samurott - like him more than it thought, but still a little slow
Simisear - was a pain to lv till 43 but then finally evolved and is not so bad
Krookodile - very useful for the E4
Unfezant - didnt pay attention and got the uncool looking female -_-
Zebstrika - fast and can paralyze so win!
Gurdurr - whos still not evovled because i didnt trade yet

Pokedex at 74 caught pkmnz so theres still a lot of catching to do.

The first file I started I got a female Oshawott but restarted because I'm sexist and wanted a male one. The good thing is that the one I have now has a neutral nature which I like for my campaign Pokemon.
 
Just got this game yesterday, and the next day my pokemon are infected by Pokérus (PKRS). Are the PKRS easy to get infected in pokemon black and white?
 
my friend got pokerus day one and gave it to me
been slowing infecting all my pokemon

make sure you get a few to have in and box them
it only last a day of infecting others and then you may lose it

When does this start, or how do you do this? Because I currently have 22 in my Pokedex with one Gym Badge and went to visit her. She gave me a compliment and that was it. :cry:

no cause i wanted Gothita but i managed to trade for it so im all good. Ill start black when i finish white
 
7 Badges in. My team is now Galvantula (36), Carracosta (37), Emboar (37), Leavanny (38), Krokorok (36) and Unfezant (37).

Anyone want to do some trading-based evolving or version-exclusive (I've got white) swapping sometime?
 
i have a female snivy so i can breed that and if i get my dewott back she a female

like to get them with better natures
 
Just finished E4/N. My highest level was 56. I went out to one of the new unlocked routes and battled a few trainers all lvl 65+. Crazy! Was happy to see a rotation battle in White though.
 
I'm already two badges in but I only really have two good pokemon on my team; sawk and the fire pig thing. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good pokemon to train/have on your team?
 
Well, here's another update. Currently training for the REAL Elite four w/ champion. Will probably get to it tomorrow night. Also, for anyone with a beaten White version, Im looking to do a Thundurus and Tornadus borrowing session to get Landarus. Any interests?

Zebstricka Lv 64 (Hes the weakest one on my team, but I really like him for his speed. His electricity and my only fire move creates a little niche for him)

Sawk Lv 63 (He was solid when I caught him, and hes solid now. He is less so, however, perhaps only because of his small movepool and one evolution status).

Serperior Lv 66 (I really like him now, moreso than ever. He's fast, he has above average attack and solid defenses, and grass has much more versatility than I originally thought)

Stoutland Lv 63 (Still love this guy to the death. He's saved my ass a few times, especially on the final boss. Again: HES A DOG WHO CAN SURF AND HE HAS AN AMAZING MUSTACHE)

Carracosta Lv 62 (He's kind of in the background right now, since Ive been focusing on my weaker guys and hes consistantly in the middle. He acts as a great water type and a better rock type, and who doesn't love a sea turtle?)

Hydreigon Lv 70 (WHAT. A. BOSS. He wipes guys 10 levels higher in three hits and knows how to take a hit too. I want to give him a better movepool because what he has isnt doing him justice. He seems like head honcho right now, but thats only because I leveled him up first. He will be tied for lowest level when all is said and done, with Serperior 5 levels higher)

I think when all is said and done, I think itll be:
Zebstrika 71
Sawk 70
Serperior 75
Stoutland 73
Carracosta 72
Hydreigon 70

I hope its enough
 
Anyone know what time the mall tour ends each day
may be able to go Saturday after work which would be way better than sunday since i would hate to not be able to buy anything

gonna try to get me a set of starters and get as many spares as i can and sell to my CAG friends. Not price gouge like on Amazon.

Anyone need any shaky grass Pokemon available before Mistralton? I have some elemental monkeys, Emolgas, and Drillburs stockpiled and I'd trade 'em for any old thing. (Black exclusives especially welcome.)

My team now stands as such:

Pignite - Lv. 41
Audino - Lv. 38
Boldore - Lv. 38
Petilil - Lv. 36
Simipour - Lv. 36
Pidove - Lv. 28 (pretty much reduced to Fly slave)

I'm still pleased with how my Pokemon are performing, though I totally botched Simipour by evolving her early as I forgot the game PUNISHES you for using elemental stones before your Pokemon is Lv. 50-ish. I momentarily forgot and didn't want to go the whole damn game without the Simipour I'd been wanting so badly and slipped up.

Normally I'd just go flatten Skyla as my Boldore could just Rock Slide everything to death, but she probably has something with a move that's super-effective against rock, so I'm going to level an Emolga to around 40 just to be safe. I plan on making a Joltik a permanent member of my party, but since it's partially bug-type it would get destroyed against a fast, evolved flying-type of similar level. On a side note, there's no perfect place to train electric-types yet because of the lack of rods and Surf thus far :(

Also considering keeping a Ferroseed in my party just out of wanting a Steel type (Klink is an ugly Magnemite wannabe with a clown nose. Come to think of it, Ferroseed is kind of a Pineco wannabe too but at least it doesn't explode before you can catch it, heh.)

Not really. I use it and it takes out flying types easily. The electric type cancels out bug's flying weakness.
 
I'm looking for someone to help me evolve my Gurdurr. At first I was just going to use Timburr as a mercenary against the Normal gym, but he's stuck with my team and become really useful. And I really need him in the Electric gym because of the Emolgas which Drillbur can't do shit against.

What's the soonest you can get a Lucky Egg?

My team so far:
Gurdurr (25, like I said, didn't plan on using him but I've become attached)
Dewott (25, haven't used him a lot lately but will grind him some since I'm at the electric gym)
Tranquill (23, just used against the Bug gym since he did 6x damage to the Bug/Grass one. Haven't used him much since)
Zebstrika (27, grinded him to defeat N's Sigilyph and he'll be useless against the next 2 gyms)
Drillbur (24, his moves are getting weak but I need him for the Electric gym)
Sandile (17, replaced my Herdier, haven't used him since I added him. Might grind him as a backup for the Electric gym)

There's a nifty maraca catcus pokemon. It's weak, but it shakes maracas. If you catch one, it's blasphemy to not name it Amigo or Amiga.

The starter, a Grass/Steel line, and a Grass/Fighting legendary. The rest are kinda dumb. Bulbasaur is the only Grass pokemon for me.

Petilil and cottonee can be caught early on but they evolve with stones and it kinda sucks.

fwbweux- u need to trade your Boldur to get Gigalith. Hes beast and i lov Smackdown on birds.
