Pokemon Black and White: General Discussion and Info: For Real This Time

The Dark/Dragon, this gen's Pseudo-legendary (like Dragonite, Tyranitar, etc) doesn't evolve until level 50. It reaches its final stage at level 64. It better be worth it.
Man, a complete Pokedex book after this game is gonna be HUGE.
And totally worth it!

It's not just the Pseudo-legendary that evolves late. So many other Pokemon do, too. The Ghost/Fire candle evolves for the first time at level 41. The eagle evolves at level 54. They better have some item that gives 2x EXP or you fight battles a LOT.

I wouldn't be against a lot of battles, but I'm going to guess it's a mix of double EXP items, rare candies and a fuck ton of battles. I'm also anxious to see if that after you beat the Elite 4 and what not, if you can go to previous lands.

Wow that's incredible. I just wish they'd release it sooner over here because I -- like many people -- will shell out the money for both games. I can't wait.
That's really nice work! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks. Though it wasn't much.

I'd like to add numbers for all of them and the method of evolution but that will have to wait.
Pokemon's only growing stronger. Dethroning Dragon Quest IX? impressive.
It's not Pokemon that's growing stronger, it's DQ. Pokemon always easily tops the best sellers list.

I updated the chart I put together. Added version exclusives (black or white box by name) and level they evolve (588-589 and 624-625 don't have the info yet).

awesome graph Icedrake.
Maybe go to Staples and make a big one and print poster sized.
Lokes sweet as hell.

Can't wait for this game.
I want both. And the guide, hope they make another big one like they did for Platinum.

Also does anyone else think

Mamabou- evolve form of Luvdisc
Baffuron- evolve form of Tauros

And WTF why no Eevee evolutions.
My favorite part.

It makes a lot of sense really. When you think about it, Gen IV was all about giving closure to the last 3 generations of Pokemon before starting completely fresh.

Holy fuck. I may need to get this when I go to Japan this Fall/Winter. I've always wanted a limited/special Pokemon edition DS/DSi/DSiXL system but never had the chance.

Does anyone know where to find the old gen one special bundles that don't cost hundreds of dollars?

It was pretty obvious they had to release the new games before the 3DS cause otherwise both would loose out on individual publicity.

anyone know which is the best guide to get for this game.

Paperback

Hardcover

Im thinking paperback first and then hardcover for my collection.
I tend to use guides a lot. Wish they made a superguide like for Platinum.

Hm, this is just me, but I'd simply stick to the collector's edition and then use online guides. I've been using Mariland's step-by-step guide for my Japanese version of White. Can't get much more complete than that at the moment. But if you're looking to follow the maps over a text guide, yeah, probably best to go with both official print guides.

Serebii should have a new walkthrough up soon, but maps and the like are in a different section, so it can be a little tedious going from page to page.

The paperback is listed as Volume 1. Which means there will probably be a Volume 2 about Post-E4 things and a full Pokedex. If the hardcover has that, it is a MUCH better purchase.

i mainly use guides for pokedex, specially with brand new pokemon
and where to find them and after national dex stuff

may wind up getting both

I'm 99% sure I'm going to end up getting both B&W. And then a copy of one of them for a nephew, since his birthday is the week before.

And then I'll get suckered into buying my other nephew a copy for his birthday in May.

Hm, the article doesn't really go into detail. Basically it gives you a key item to start an instance to capture Victini once you reach Hiun City.

He's only lvl 15, but a major pain in the arse to catch that early in the game. The elemental monkies all come with Yawn though. So there's at least an easy sleep move.

I preordered Black, White, and the strat guide from Amazon last night. I even signed up for a free month of Prime to get 2nd day shipping for free, lol.

I wish there were some chotchkies that came with these. Like a stylus or something at least.

I just threw up a little in my mouth :(. Do not visit the above link if you have a weak stomach to body mods.

Yes, I'm that much of a pansy.
